Base coated the talons and spurs in flat red and the weapon blades in meredius blue this evening, just on 6 for now. See how it all comes together before rolling the scheme out across all the drogors.

Some small progress tonight. Finally gave in to the impulse to buy the endless spells. The murder cow is maaaaassive.
Decided to take 6 Dragon Ogors to completion just to check everything will look alright so I liberally applied Biel-tan, gloss black and flesh shade to the pictured 6, so next session I can hopefully start highlights, details and weapons. Then I might finally get an idea for what colours to paint the bases as torn between grey/brown or brown/grey. Black rims of course.

Surprisingly so. For an army with only two unit warscrolls. One drop, 3 hero-wizards, summoning, dark walkers ambushing and movement shenanigans. Adds up to a decent army. Not super killy, but plays scenarios well.

After a week diverted by running a weekend of AOS for 36 players, I've gotten back on the painting wagon. That's the flesh based on all the drogors finally. An annoyingly lengthy stage. The metal is going to be just as annoyingly lengthy. Going to have to get a shift on in order to meet my BOBO deadline.
Also had a practice game against Sylvaneth but didn't get any pics. Went down after he killed the three Shaggoths in a hero mission.

Managed to get back to the drogors yesterday to base the flesh on the 12 crushers.

Had my 2nd game tonight. Border War in the realm of Chamon with the feature Brittle Isles. Vs Nagash, Necro, Wraith, 15 Dogs and 60 Grimghasts.
Went down to a minor loss but had several opportunities to take the major thanks to Darkwalkers/summoning/run and charge shenanigans. Good fun game, managed to summon 30 Ungor and 20 dogs over the course of the game. Glad I built based and sprayed the summoning bods earlier this week.

Another 2 hours this afternoon for the 2nd coat of warpstone glow. Two thin coats done. Think I'll base the flesh next before highlighting.
Also calling the herdstone done for now, I'll go back and base it at the end I think, assuming I have time before Bobo. Bit annoyed at myself for the logical disconnect between the green flames at the bottom and the red eyes, but it's obviously magic so I'll leave it as is.

Had a little hobby time tonight in between breaking down copies of Carrion Empire for individual resale (#capitalism) and threw together 20 Ungor. These are just for bodies for primordial call summons, possibly for objectives, possibly just to take some more Mortals for more summoning, probably just to die horribly as the drogors cleave through the enemy.

Boring updates as been a very busy week. Better sized base for my Herdstone arrived, as well as 30 ungor and 10 hounds for primordial call points summoning purposes. I'll use these as a palate cleanser in between painting 30 Drogors.

Squeezed in my first game this evening. Vs Deepkin at take and hold in the realm of shadow. Not gonna lie I was taking a battering off 18 Morsarr guard but won the priority into turn 3 and used the shadow realm command trait to teleport 9 dragon Ogors onto his objective while summoning 10 Ungor to hold mine for the win. Realm of shadow is silly.

Sneaking in some painting while wife and child are out at soft play. Bit more done on the Herdstone, waiting on washes drying before layers and highlights etc. And decided to have a very ginger shaggoth.
Considering basing the Herdstone, but think I may need to order a base down a size from what I have at the moment.

Two hours tonight spent gluing basing bits, sand, grit and texture paint into the 27 Drogors. Hopefully it's decent spraying weather tomorrow.

Last nights oval basing was a success. Tonights task will be adding texture and stuff to the dogors bases.

My ovals arrived today so I've spent a dire hour and a half holding dragon Ogors to 90mm oval bases. If GW ever change the base size on these fellas I think I'd cry. A lot of weight on relatively small contact points on the feet.

Based up the three Shaggoth ready for undercoating. Boring update but one that means they'll be ready for paint tomorrow along with the Herdstone.

Got the last 6 dogors with crushers built. That's everything built that is in the starting army. I still need to decide what to invest in for Primordial Call. My 90 by 52 bases should arrive at local GW tomorrow or Monday. But I can start on the Shaggoths and the Herdstone already. Basing and spraying up next, then the fun and exciting (hopefully) painting can begin.
I think I'm going to go with quite a classic "Battle Book, Red Phase' look on this army. So bright green dragon bits, nice clean bronzed flesh, red and silver armour bits. Think I'll stop short of basing with goblin green and flock though.

Painting and basing will be doing a fair bit of differentiating between models although because I've gone 12/9/6 in Great Weapons, halberds and two weapons the units look relatively different to the eye.
Had a day off today so splurged my free time on building 21 of the 27 Ogors. Might get the other 6 later on.
Pics are 9 halberds, 6 crushers and 2 sets of 3 paired weapons, then the obligatory herdstone.

Got some highlights, washes and detail layers down on the first 6 tonight. Next painting session will include the bases base colour I think. Starting to enjoy the detail work.
