Not so much, the newest designs do not show something completely different. In fact I'd say it keeps mayor design elements that are unique to GW and befitting for Age of Sigmar. Duaradin Fyreslayers look 80% like WFB's Slayers, just amped to 11. Amongst Kharadron Overlords there are actually several designs that match that of Dispossessed too, basically amping things up to 11, best example is Irondrakes and the Dwarf Engineer designs.

Based on what we've seen amongst several armies there are only two real requirements needed for a unit to stay. Which seem to be:
    1. They fit the epic fantasy styled design of their 'new' faction. In certain cases there is a lot of overlap (mostly seen in Chaos, Death and Destruction) and in others there is less, Order.
    2. They need to fit the dynamic designs seen troughout AoS. Sometimes this even means that 'newest' WFB designes are scrapped if they do not fit that base visual look. Again many examples are given.

Based on that an indication of what's kept and what's more or less left would very much leave the following amongst regular AoS armies (even for the nearby future):

      Hide contents

    - War Hydra/Kharidbyss, dynamic and very unique model
    - High Elves Eagles and Phoenixes, with likely eventual new infantry that matches that particular design more
    - Witch Elves/Sisters of Slaughter plus all visual matching Dark Elves Sorceress, extremely dynamic and GW original
    - Scourgerunner Chariot
    - Black Arc Corsairs/Black Arc Fleetmaster, dynamic, GW original
    - Dark Riders and Doomfire Warlocks

In essence I believe that GW's plans for Dark Elves are to focus on the Corsairs and Witches, where for High Elves a lot more changes will be applied but eventually that likely ends up being focused around Eagles, Phoenix and Smoke Sorcerers.

We also are likely to see Darkoath before Slaanesh for Chaos and I deem it very possible that the Chaos Marauder kit will be updated but the Chaos Marauder Horsemen will not. There is a lot of time between these two boxes and the vibes both visually put out are actually very different too.

    Cheers,

Where are you getting the idea that the new high elves have smoke sorcerers? both the Aelves from the Silver Tower box are from the shadow realm which is Malerion's domain.

You are talking about this model?

Holy Heck! If she's really a Shadespire model I know a couple of people who'll squee - myself included.
I don't believe it though... Would they really tease this (Shadespire?!)model when it has to stand in line behind four other warbands?

    ...would they?

    Yessir! that's the one!

  3. So, i'm looking at the upgrade card 'Flickering Image' which reads, Reaction: After an Attack action made by this fighter that scores a critical hit, you can push them up to two hexes.

Now, my question is, does that mean I push MY fighter up to two hexes, or, the target(s) of my attack up to two hexes? The flavor text on the card, which reads: "This fighter seems to flicker and disappear at random, emerging behind his foes with his sword ready", seems to suggest that I move MY fighter up to two hexes. Just wanted to get everyone's thoughts on this.

It occurs to me that the last bit I said about targeting Severin last may not be as straightforward as that. Sorry, I don’t have my cards with me at the moment to check whether fatal riposte is a ploy or upgrade. If it’s a ploy then obviously the attacker won’t know he has it so cant strategise targeting him last. But if it’s an upgrade that is already in play then the attacker should have the sense to go for him last,

I was thinking the same thing, because i'm fairly certain fatal riposte is an upgrade not a ploy.

that brings me to another question,  If I had 2 hammers would i only have one success of my enemy had NO luck and zero shields/crits?

Yes, you are either successful with your attack, or you're not successful. Multiple Successes from the same roll, does not constitute multiplying damage.

for example Angharad has 3 attacks, she does 2 damage on a success. If you roll 3 successful hits and your opponent fails all three defense rolls, Angharad does not do 6 damage, only 2 damage.

  6. Is it possible to activate and attack with the same character multiple times during the activation sequence, so long as that character hasn't moved?

    example:

My steelheart is surrounded by 3 bloodbound guys

    - my activation I choose steelheart and I attack with him

-opponent then goes for his activation

    - back to my activation, I activate steeheart again to attack

    so is this legal?

from what i've read, you just cannot charge and move in the same activation with the same character
