Hey everyone, currently playing a small tourney (will probably only get 2/3 games in) and after playing the first game against DoK let me apologize for saying the WLV isn't worth it without shackles/warpgale.

    They're always worth it. Always.

I'll post up some pictures/quick batreps later tonight if I can.

    You mean warpgnaw verminlord?

To be honest, you have a viable and competitive pestilens list right there - I’d simply add a plague priest on foot, a foulrain contagion battalion, and run:

    verminlord corruptor, 2 furnaces, 1 plague priest, 2x40 plaguemonks, 1x 30 plaguemonks, 3 plagueclaw, foulrain contagion. 1980pts.

Run 2 units of monks with a furnace in them, the third with the corruptor. Foot priest back with the catapaults. Think that’s better than trying to screen your monks with clanrats in a mixed list, tbh.

In a mixed list, I’d start with 2 x 40 clanrats, and at least 20 stormvermin. Then add whatever toys you like from there.

*edit* adjusted as I messed up the points.

I have like 2 priest on foot so no problem. The think is i feel that mixed army seems stronger then mono-clan.. Pestilens really soffer to be charged, and i think that a unit of buffed stormfiends shoot better then plagueclaws (buffed with +1 damage and spell to reroll hit and wound). I'm also trying to convert some jezzails (just work in progress for now). A verminlord warpseer help with battleshock  26 from him (more relaible then furnace) and keep your number of command point up, while still being pretty good in combat with reroll save, and his magic does d6 mortal and halves enemy charge. Clan rats cover monks and, if they stay alive, can cover objective while monks kill most of units and stormfiends snipe out the problem. With masterclan magic still able to give buff to attack when  a model die to the monks. Maybe a furnace to add 1 attack to monks.

I have to make an order tomorrow and i'm really confuse on what to take

Would say you have a good basis already. You have a strong pestilens list, the beginnings of a Skryre list, and a chunk of clanrats. If you want to play mixed skaventide, you will need more battleline, so maybe some stormvermin? And another block of clanrats.

I was thinking to buy 40 more clan rats (so i'll have the 3 battle line), and maybe a verminlord building it like  a warpseer (it seems to be the more usefull, no?), but then i was thinking on how to play, wich list. 60 clan rats (20-20-20) to protect 2 units of monks (40-40), 1 or 2 unit of stormiends with an arch warlok to buff them (i converted a skitari in arch-warlok), the verminlord warpseer (or any one i will build) and i still do not know what else would be good...

What can i put to make the list more viable and competitive?

  4. Guys, i have 120 monk, 2 furnace, a verminlord corruptor, a bell, 3 plagclaw, a spire of dawn box and a carrion empire box. What do you suggest me to buy for mixed skaven army? How many clan rats should i play? And what i can take to improve the army?

Mixed Skaventide is definitely the strongest, because clan rats are the best battleline. Pure clans enable cool, thematic lists, but because of the way they designed this book and the battleline rules, pure clans just can't compete with mixed. You must mix clans to have all the tools.  And there is really no disadvantage for doing so.  You still get all the allegiance abilities. You only unlock battleline options. But, 2 or 3 units of clan rats is never really bad...

So, from what i got, what should i buy and which kind of list i should look for?

  6. Guys, i have an army of pestilence (almost complete, some monks more maybe but for now it's ok) and some skryre, most of them fron carrion empire. I also have some stuff in the middle (a spire of dawn box take some years ago, a bell, a grey seer, etc..)

What should i do? Going on with single clan? Taking more carrion empire to have more skryre and keeping a pestilence army and a skryre army or maybe it'a better to take clanrats/stormvermin and build  a mixed army?

What is better in your opinion? From both side, competitive and funny.

  7. Hey guys, i just bought the carrion empire box 'couse one of my friends wanted the fec part and i accepted to have the skaven one just for collection (i have a pestilence army since beginging of AoS)

i was thinking about taking more skryre stuff so i can actually play them but my fear is that they still looks pretty weak to me, even with the new book, and i'm not sure spending money on them is worth (i still have other army to finish like seraphon that, if we listen at the rumor, will recieve a tome soon)

what do you think? Can skryre be at least  little bit competitive?

I'd consolidate the 20 and 10 into a group of 30, until they get their first casuality they'll get +1 to wound and they'll last longer in theory as one blob.

Depends how much you want to be spread out to catch the objective, though at 750pts, I don't see your opponent having lots of options to be spread much out either. I can understand wanting to be spread out a bit more for manouvrability and a better chance to reach the Orb, though the gnawholes should help out there some. Thin the plague monks down too much and they can be easily wiped out by anyone.

The other option is a Warpgnaw Verminlord with the item for feel no pain at 5+ and the command trait to move the wound to close skaven at 5+ and the magic to teleport an hero skaven everywhere at 9 from the enemy, with him i can play 60 monks (40 + 20+vermintide endless or 30+30) or a verminlord corruptor and 10 monks (10 and 10)

what do you think would do the job better?

  9. Hi guys, tomorrow i will play a game for a campaign that me and my friends are playng. I will face an idoneth army at 750 points and the battleplan will be Repositioning globe (if this is the name in english)

    I was thinking to play:

1 Grey Seer (general, spell to attack after death, still do not know the trait)

1 Plague Furnace (with liber bubonicus)

    40x monks

    20x monks

    10x monks

Still do not know how i will play the monk (if 40 and 30, 40-20-10, etc). I can also take away 10 monks to add vermintide endless spell but i'm not sure it would be worth.

    what do you think?

The wording is a little messy but here is how it is:

"The bearer can use the Plague Prayers ability from the Plague Priest warscroll. If the bearer is a Plague Priest, then it can use the Plague Prayers ability twice in your hero phase."

Ok so this is really messy in the way its written and it can be interpreted two ways.

    1) It gives the plague priest access to the Plague Prayers, but only 1 casting because the model does not have the prayer ability before hand - so the second part can't act on its own.

This interpretation assumes that the two sentences that form the description are distinct and separate - an either one OR the other situation

    2) It gives it the ability to use the Plague Prayers with the first sentence and then, because the plague priest on a furnace has the key word plague priest, also confers it the ability to pray twice.

This latter interpretation assumes the two sentences are linked even if they are also separate - ergo both can be true at the same time.

Another element to consider is that there are only plague priests as heroes for Pestilens, so as of right now you've either got a plague priest or a plague priest on a furnace; there are no other pestilens heroes; and only pestilens can take from the pestilens gear. So the way its worded sounds rather redundant if one assumes the second interpretation which leads us to supposed that the first interpretation is the correct one.

This is something that should get flagged for GW to FAQ/Errata on as right now whilst we might suppose that the intended ruling is the second; the way its worded makes the first interpretation true.

Note if the first interpretation is true then it shines a big light on the potential for GW to be adding a new pestilens hero that isn't a plague priest to the army

Actually also verminlord corruptor is  an hero for pestilens, so it's also made for him.

But still it's impossible that they give an item like this that give not  a  real help to the furnace (plague prayer are just damage prayer now and no more buffing)

  11. Guys, i have a doubt about liber bubonicus. Maybe it's a stupid question but i do not know..

As now Liber Bubonicus on the new book says "give to the characther the Plague prayer ability (the prayers of the plague priest on foot). If the this hero is a Plague Priest, he can use Plague prayer twice"

Now, if i give liber bubonicus to the plague priest on furnace (that actually is  a plague priest by name and keyword) what will it gove to him? For how is written in my book (it is in italian so maybe it's bad translated) it will give him the plague prayer ability and let him use those twice, but meanwhile he still have the Noxius prayer ability so he will cast once the noxius prayer and twice the plague prayers. But i think it's not like that, it shoulf be too strong and pointless.

So what Liber bubonicus give to the furnace? Cast twice Noxius Prayer? Cast twice Plague Prayer? Cast once Noxius and twice Plague?

I think i'm missing some faq maybe

Again sorry if it is a stupid question and thanks for the help!
