[War Mammoth!]

I used to field a pair of them actually. I would have one start on the table and summon the second one using the old chaos lords command ability  (allows him to summon one unit with the STD keyword). I'd summon it on my opponets back board edge and then sayl the other one up to make a mamoth sandwich.

 

They're quite good vs no rend as they get the 5+ rerollable save. If the opponent has rend though they go down very quick. They put out decent damage but not a ton. 320 is probably a fair price to be honest. the biggest effect they'll have on the table is psychological on your opponent. They do mix very well as a bravery bomb. War mamoth charge + archaon + chaos knights makes a unit have -5 bravery. Easy to pop expensive units that way.

 

I found they tend to do the most damage when they run into the midst of the opposing army then start flailing and doing mortal wounds when it takes damage, then falling over and causing more when it dies.

 

Overall, not bad but not great

The best way to wrap up Age of Sigmar's Season of War is with a tournament at Flat Land Games!

- $15 entry
- Tournament starts at noon - FLGS will open at 11 AM that day to accomodate the event.
- Dinner will be provided as part of entry from one of our local partners
- 3 games total

Games will be 2000 points chosen from the same Grand Alliance, and will last 5 rounds or 2.5 hours, whichever comes first. Armies must follow the composition rules in the General’s Compendium for Matched Play games using the Battlehost size. Please bring 2 typed copies of your list to the event.

Armies do not have to painted. Painted will be scored towards your overall placing. Scoring will be based on cohesiveness, technique, conversions, etc.

The three rules of one will be in play. As will the Scenery rules, and the Monsters and cover rule, and the Triumph rule. The latest AoS FAQ will be used. Matched play rules will take precedence.

Only units and formations in the general’s handbook (and Forgeworld’s Warhammer Forge supplement) that are assigned points values may be use.

Allegiance Abilities and Artefacts will be chosen (or rolled for) as per the rules before the start of each battle. Remember, special (named) characters will not get any allegiance abilities or artefact powers. You may choose an additional artefact for each warscroll battalion in your army list.

The MI GT AoS Championship will be 3 games using the Age of Sigmar General’s Handbook Match Play system.

New rule cut off will be 3 weeks before the event (September 10th). No new army books or core rules will be allowed after this date.
