Hello fellow magic lovers!
Here is my take on an Endless-spam Hallowheart list:
Allegiance: Hallowheart
Leaders
Anointed of Asuryan on Frostheart Phoenix (320)
- General
Luminark of Hysh With White Battlemage (270)
Knight Incantor (140)
Battlemage (90)
Sorceress (90)
Battleline
30 x Phoenix Guard (420)
10 x Dreadspears (90)
10 x Dreadspears (90)
Battalion
Whitefire Retinue (140)
Endless Spells / Terrain
Everblaze Comet (100)
Emerald Lifeswarm (50)
Prismatic Palisade (30)
Purple Sun of Shyish (50)
Soulsnare Shackles (40)
Lauchon the Soulseeker (60)
Suffocating Gravetide (20)
Total: 2000 / 2000
I haven't figured out the artefacts yet but the spirit is there: a big block of Phoenix Guard with all the world's debuff to hit them and spells to heal them, Wizards that block the field and deal MW with Endless Spells, a Phoenix to bring mobility and erase hordes with the 12" range spell, Luminark for the beam and the 6++ save to make the Guards even more resilient.
Because the foot men are slow, I've put Launchon in the list to send them mid-field asap.
Incantor is there for auto-dispell that can save a game and the Comet that can severely hurt some lists.
Open for suggestions and remarks!
Cheers!

Hello !
Here is my take on a Magic centered list, focusing on buffing the Phoenix and dispelling a lot :
Allegiance: Order
Mortal Realm: Aqshy
Leaders
Anointed of Asuryan on Frostheart Phoenix (280)
- General
- Trait: Strategic Genius
- Artefact: Ignax's ScalesKnight-Incantor (140)
- Celestial Staves (Artefact): Staff of FocusSpellweaver (100)
- Heartwood StaffHag Queen (60)
Battleline
30 x Witch Aelves (270)
- Sacrificial Knives and Blade Bucklers
30 x Witch Aelves (270)
- Sacrificial Knives and Blade Bucklers
10 x Witch Aelves (100)
- Sacrificial Knives and Blade Bucklers
Units
5 x Doomfire Warlocks (160)
5 x Sisters of the Thorn (220)
5 x Evocators (200)
- 5x Grandstaves
5 x Evocators (200)
Total: 2000 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 0
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 147
Ignax Scales on the Phoenix might be "overkill" but I feel like you absolutely need him to survive. I have two auto-dispell, cancelling very annoying stuff in the early game and saving some time to take the battlefield. Doomfire, Sisters and Evocators are perfect objectives holders and buff the Phoenix to the max save.
I would love to fit one or two Endless but I don't know what to remove
What do you think guys ?

Everyone is focusing on Gristlegore/Monsters no-limit but the Morgaunt Grand Court ability to repop a unit hasn't been FAQ'ed. So basically and unlike the Hammers of Sigmar's one, you can spend as many CP as you like when you loose a unit and for each 4+ you create a clone unit identical to the one destroyed. That's brutal even if you setup it on the edge of the board.

I think always strikes first is so powerful for any list running a monster that it outweighs any other option available to FEC. Everything else in gristlegore is just icing.
If you can fit another artefact in with a battalion, Doppelganger Cloak on your other Terrorgheist should achieve to ruin opponent's combat phase...
-
I'm really hesitating between Gristlegore and Blisterkin for my Monster Mash list. The first one is all about optimizing the big guys insane power but I feel the second one is more flexible, movement bonus, redeployment and extra CP are very tempting as well.
-
Do you guys find the mount traits strong enough to pay a Battalion for an extra one ?
I'm going GKoTG - GKoTG - GKoZD and I'd like at least 2 of them to have traits...
-
I would say that Blisterkin benefits even more to the Monster Mash list. +2" move on everybody is priceless, the extra CP on 4+ very much needed as well and the redeployment ability can save a Monster in bad shape or allow to "disengage" and charge somewhere else.
-
You can even add another -1 save/rend with the Troggoth Hag spell ^^

Apart from Mortal Wounds what can reliably kill Sequitors with SD rerolling armour saves? Mine are essentially immortal at present
30 Bestigors full buffed with -1 or 2 save from the stone ans Spell look pretty scary.

They seem really good until you get into a game and get double flanked and cant pile in.
That's why Heraldor is ace (aka must-have) with 20 Sequi. Retreat and Charge as soon as you get stuck. You can also run and charge if you need to and the Thunderblast is always a nice bonus.

Anyone has tried a gunline oriented list ?
Was thinking about something like this :
Allegiance: Stormcast Eternals
- Stormhost: Anvils of the Heldenhammer
Leaders
Lord-Arcanum on Gryph-Charger (240)
Knight-Incantor (140)
Battleline
Units
12 x Vanguard-Raptors with Longstrike Crossbows (720)
20 x Sequitors (400)
- Stormsmite Mauls and Soulshields
5 x Sequitors (120)
- Stormsmite Mauls and Soulshields
5 x Sequitors (120)
- Stormsmite Mauls and Soulshields
Endless Spells
Everblaze Comet (100)
Total: 1840 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 3
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 96
I know that we can't spam Anvils ability but I guess 1 extra shooting phase on the Raptors and 1 extra combat phase on Sequitors is more than enough.
I have 160 spare points that I'd likely invest in a Leader, maybe a Vexxilor to re-setup the Raptors mid-game or save them from danger. What do you think guys ?

I know but i hope there are better battalions.
Hmmm, nothing fancy on that side unfortunately... The former ones (Vanguard Wing, ... )are all nerfed, doing just one effect instead of several before. The Phalanx is pretty much the best one (also because the requirements are top-tier units, so no "tax").

Hmm not so strong...
You end up rerolling hit, wounds and saves for Sequitors which is VERY strong by itself but you also win on the drops (1 against 4) and 1 extra artifact which allow to get a good one in addition to the (crappy) Stormhost one.

A sensible FAQ would be "only one such unit may be brought back for each slain unit.".
That way you can stock CP to increase your odds of getting the unit back, but you can't spawn multiples.
That's the way I understood it when I first read it.

I'm concerned that they'll FAQ it the hard way, like only one roll per unit, even if you fail...
The Ironjaw FAQ tends to go that way, even if they don't roll to get back units.

especially when combined with a Lens of Refraction
You have to take the artifact from Hammers of Sigmar first though

Don't dismiss the Lord-Arcanum on Tauralon so fast. The CA is useless, but the spell is a better Starfall and the Steel Pinions trait is awesome.
You're right but for 100 pts difference (with the Gryph-Charger) I think I'd rather take the Everblaze Comet. And I'm not even speaking about that face... ^^

Soulstrike Brotherhood doesn't sound that bad.
Agreed. It's the only Battalion worth considering for me.

With all of the Arcanum versions being crappy, but being the tax to get Sequitors as Battleline, I foresee the one on Gryph-Charger being the obvious choice.

Anyone have a brief rundown of what the other stormhosts do? The community article mentioned one of them being more magic focused...

Hi fellow sons of Sigmar !
I know the Battletome is yet to come but with the reviews and points already available, I wanted to try some list-building.
Here is a wanna-be competitive tournament list, using the new toys we have :
Allegiance: Stormcast Eternals
Stormhost : Celestial Warbringers
Leaders
Lord-Arcanum (180)
- General
Lord-Castellant (100)
Knight-Incantor (140)
Lord-Ordinator (140)
Battleline
20 x Sequitors (400)
5 x Judicators (160)
- Skybolt Bows
- 1x Thunderbolt Crossbows
5 x Judicators (160)
- Skybolt Bows
- 1x Thunderbolt Crossbows
Units
5 x Evocators (200)
War Machines
Celestar Ballista (100)
Celestar Ballista (100)
Celestar Ballista (100)
Celestar Ballista (100)
Endless Spells
Soulsnare Shackles (20)
Everblaze Comet (100)
Total: 2000 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 0
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 125
The idea is to tarpit the middle-field with the Sequitors and the Stormhost redeployment, magic and pew-pew to erase nasty Witc... units, Ballistas can be setup in the sky with Ordinator to secure the short range dakka, endless spells to slow down opponent and create havoc on his lines. Evocators are swiss-army-knife, ideally putting them in the sky as well (6 units in the realms, 6 on the board).
Many drops so I'll never get first turn but with Warbringers I can secure the mid objectives and with the new Scions of the Storm I can very peacefully "hide" my gunline. I have to give up on Staunch Defender but being now wholly within, I think the Stormhost give much more tools. Spells yet to choose but I'm waiting for the BT to consider all of them.
What do you think guys ?

Anvils are veeeery good, if not FAQ'ed could even be broken.
-
4 Ballistas dropping from the sky !
-
The free Tamurkhan sub-allegeance is a massive buff in my opinion. The move/charge debuff largely compensate the crappy command trait and item. And remember... it's free !
But the most crazy stuff is the new Kazyk profile. It's now an auto-include for me !
