Teclis has been out for a solid week, so I don't think we should necessarily still be putting everything in sblocks, but even so...

      Reveal hidden contents

The going theme of Broken Realms, and seemingly the next edition of AoS that it's setting the stage for, is the collapse of previous grand alliances and even individual factions into internal conflict.  The elven gods breaking away from Sigmar.  Morathi betraying Sigmar and the Elven gods alike.  Various Cities of Sigmar split between these various factions.  Be'lakor vs. Archaon, with all of chaos turning to infighting without a single unquestioned authority to hold them together.  Slaaneshi seekers vs. pretenders.  Fleshy Vamp Count and FEC undead fighting back against the OBR tithe without Nagash around to force compliance.  Vamp Count dynasties going to war with each other over territories and living food stock communities not already consumed by the Necropolis.  So far nothings really changing for Destruction, but Kragnos isn't out yet, and it's not like Destruction was ever really treated as a 'grand alliance' to begin with.

I'm not really sure what's going on with Nighthaunt in all this.  Following the theme of everything else, we're likely to see some conflict between Olynder and Kurdoss.  But apart from 'more control over the now limited population of nighthaunts in the wake of Teclis's big rune', I'm not sure what either of them want to actually do with the processions they are able to control.  Olynder has been working closely with Katakros, pretty much ever since she released his soul, but is that because her interests are actually aligned with his, or is that only because Nagash was actively holding her chain?

Maybe we'll get some sense of that in Be'Lakor, Since apparently Olynder will feature there.  I'm not expecting answers to these questions there, though, as I expect it to be set concurrent with rather than after BR:Teclis, so I'm not expecting to see Olynder's reaction to Nagash's "death" (and it was very much Nagash's true physical form that got beat down, not 'just' an avatar) or her reaction to whatever the effects of Teclis's rune actually turn out to be.  I think we'll have to wait for a new Nighthaunt book for that.  Shouldn't be too long a wait though.  Within the next year, I'd think.

Sorry dude but Brexit and such is scrambling delivereances at least in Denmark. I got my hands on the Teclis book this friday, and that was the first time it pop up in the various Warhammer and FLGS.
However lots of stores still hasn’t got it yet.

Just finished the second act and though Im reading as fast as I can it is quite frustrating to see that many has started spilling the beans everywhere in comment sections and here too.

So I really appreciate the hidden spoilers.

From the videos released it does seem that this game is really quite easy, players seem to be cutting through monsters with little chance for them to fight back. I’m curious about how much of a difference it would make if you did each mission with two characters instead of four - almost halting the number of activations you get would presumably up the difficulty quite a lot. You could maybe increase your heroes’ item carry capacity to compensate for the smaller party size.

Man I hope that you are wrong on this one.
The easy difficulty was what killed Silvertower for me. Though we recently picked it up again and houseruled a bunch of stuff to make it harder, that really helped a lot and breathed new lide into it..

i don't think i ever seen this novel before

    Got it on my shelf.

It was released at the same time as GHB2020. A quite nice read IMO, with a bunch of cool twists, but don’t expect to get much insight on the Nighthaunt lore.

  4. Can’t think of a better way to end a weekend. Just spend the last two days with some of my buddies enjoying good food while fighting our way through the Silvertower and now I discover that Cursed City is next on the preorder!

    So very very cool.

  5. So with BR: Teclis coming up soon. Its time to start betting. Nagash vs Teclis.

    Who will win?
    What will the winner achieve?

What will  happen to the looser?

How will the Mortal Realms be affected?

Think we will se the fall of another free Citiy?

Hard to tell if the book will be worth picking up for non lumineth players. For a new battalion (half a page) no. They said new allegiance abilities but cant tell if they are referring to lumineth or the warring factions. It seems lumineth are having new or rewritten allegiance abilities as per the battletome description.

I assume they will show contents page during the week.

I bought the Morathi book which had no contents for me but the art and the story was really cool and worth it. Will be getting Teclis as well and if the OBR stuff is anything worth well thats just fine but Im getting it anyway, just because its a cool read.

  7. Got Zombies?

    We sure did😆🎉

Whooohooo! Im so much looking forward to painting 80 of these guys, this is gonna be the best   colour scheme yet*

I think it’s gonna be really interesting to see what the Gravelords will bring to the table if they are released under the rule of the current meta.

Vampires have never been known to be super wizards, neither do they look like they have much of firepower.
So at first glance these guys look like they will be the ultimate horde army, with huge slow meatshields as a source of hero protection.

    * In reality I will paint 4-5, thinking I could do this all night long,  then burnout and torture myself through a neverending batchpainting apocalypse for the remaining 75 zombies.
THE only thing that will keep my going is looking forward to be painting whatever great centerpiece model the Gravelords will have. However after painting the first parts of that I will then miss my batchpainting yet again as I remember how extremely difficult it is to hold  a centerpiece model without ruining the areas already done.
Once done, I will love myself for finishing yet another army increasing my total Death army to well above 10.000pts. At that point I will remember that I only play 10-15 games a year and now have a third army that I really didn’t need in the first place. By the time Im ready to take them to battle they have been OP and nerfed to smitherines.....

The strange thing Im really looking forward to this... should I seek help😉

Tomorrow is the big day guys!! What are your hopes and dreams for the Preview?

Zombies! Zombies and lots o zombies! Tiny zombies! Huge zombies, non Human zombies, zombie Queen.

    - Bonereaper Archer(s)

    - Some hint that Nighthaunt will be getting a new tome or serious facelift when that new NH model is released or during a BR.

More shooting is precisely what the game doesn’t need...just my opinion

Im totally with you. As being 100% Death player hero sniping pretty much put my Nighthaunts back on the shelf.

However untill AOS 3 somehow nerf shooting or shields heroes, shooting and magic is the name of the game. At least allowing a bit more shooting into Death opens up for some more lists and counter actions.

Psychic awakening supported only single heroes, with the exception of drukhari, craftworld eldar, and admech.

I'd hope they'd bring up the rest of the OBR tome to fill the hole left by gutting petrifex, instead of band aid adding more stuff

But can’t they do both? A PetriFIX and a unit of archers, maybe a battalion including crawlers and archers.

  11. Is it totally unthinkeable that Bonereaper Archers are released with the BR Teclis? Didn’t Psychic Awakening do something similar? I mean, support factions with a single unit or a hero and a few rulechanges?

Forgive me if Im wrong here but unlike lots of other factions Bonereapers only need a bit of firespower to bring them up to the current meta right? Slap some nasty archers with BR Teclis, adjust some of the subfaction rules and call it a day. No need for a second wave or new Battletome here.

Well, at least this new article tells us it's 'not long now' until Cursed City is released. Still a bit skeptical myself but does seem to suggest it should be at least within the next month or so...

Hope your right but they do this all the time.
‘Very soon’ and ‘Not long now’ can be everything from next sunday to sometimes this summer.

Very cool looking model. Very much looking forward to this game.

    Steve

Wait what now? Do we know that this blodsucker isn’t part of Cursed City? I thought he was for the Yet to be revealed Soulblight Gravelords?

Having no experience with Silver Tower or BSF, will the models from the Cursed City Boxed set be available separately in the future?

Some of the Silvertower models was sold seperately. The Ogroid Thaum..eh...whatitsface?! And the Gaunt Summoner.

when DoT where released some time later, Blue and Brimstone horrors was released too but none of the models from Silvertower. Same was true for Tzaangors.

the Grot Scotlings, the Skaven Assassin and the familiars was never released.

Horseburner (really? Horse burner?) is right, this signals we're about to get a new battletome!

I'm all about that new V2 Nighthaunt smell.

Hopefully your right but it might as well just be another page or two in a future Broken Realms book, released  somewhere down the line.

  16. What a cool looking model but as surprised as I were to see a new ghost model today I immediately hoped to see a new tome instead. I wonder what abilities this fella has that is supposed to make up for the fact that he will probably be shot to pieces as soon as he pops up on field.

As far as I remember the expansions for Silver Tower only had pre-existing miniatures?

True Hero Expansionsion pack added nothing but horribly unbalanced rules for lots of existing AOS heroes.
In fact many of these heroes made the Silvertower so easy that I just recently discovered that the game isn’t that easy at all if you only use the heroes from the Silvertower box. Also adding the Exotic adversaries pack made the tower a bit tougher too.

Didn't the skaven already assassinate (or tried to, can't remember) Nagash in the Old World / End times?

Yeah I think so. Don’t remember the exact story but think it was something like the Council of thirteen that gave an anti Nagash sword to a human that managed to slay a surprised Nagash.

But the skavens also ruined Nagash’s latest scheme and thus created the Necroquake. If the Skaven/Chaos slays Nagash yet again, before he achieve anything interesting I feel like we already saw this story a few times before.

Sure Nagashs Regin will end and the Soulwars has to fail at some point, but I sure hope there is more to the story than Skaven bumping into his doomsdaydevice, shutting him down in the process.

  19. As I refreshed the rules today I thought about maybe using the Grievious Wounds rules from SoH replacing the original rules.

A quick mod would be allowing heroes to remove all Grievious Wounds between Quests.
    anyone dis something like this?

So I guess we will be:

    - using the Exotic Adversary Cards thus increasing the amount of adversaries.

    - using the Grievious Wounds rules from SoH.

    - Maybe looking into some sort of blocking mechanisim to stop unexpected Events exploding.

Would seem.to hard to have Slaves to Darkness or Nurgle followers pop as adversaries in Silver tower.. or maybe that just me. Im currently trying to paint hammerhall with as many chaos adversaries as possible.

Hard why? Im under the impression that the main problem for some (including me) about Silvertower is the game being to easy. That and random events going out of control.
