    Nope, I smell intern.

Mannock doesn't have the Kruleboyz Orruk keyword, so venom encrusted weapons does nothing for him. So his ability to give him mortals on 5+ is pointless

Edit: the warscroll does look cool though, I like his bodyguards rule. Plus the model is badass!

Edit 2: I might be wrong! Has the ruling for the venom weapons changed?

I’m not sure where you’re looking, but he’s definitely a KRULEBOYZ ORRUK in the app.

New to AoS and trying to understand artifacts.

    In the following:
    GN: Ilithia

    1x Eltharion
    1x Cathalar (General)
    2x Wardens
    2x Sentinels
    1x Auralan Legion

Can Eltharion get the Simulacra Amulet or must it go to the Cathalar?

It must go on the Cathalar. Note this isn’t because she is the general, but because Eltharion is a named character, and therefore cannot have artefacts.

It used to be hidden behind a 220pt battalion (most expensive non-mega battalion in AOS?) with a minimum army cost of 1320... it wasn't a problem before, presumably because it never saw the tabletop at a competitive event.

But, yeah it seems super strong. You're basically eliminating any disadvantage of the priority roll for the chaos player. You know your double turn is coming, and can be appropriately aggressive or you know your opponent is getting it, so you can pull back or be defensive.
It does cost a command point so that's something I guess.....

The opponent doesn't even get to chose to pass priority to you. You can't either but that's hardly a downside with the foreknowledge.

finally... what happens in a mirror match if both players use this ability? does the later one simply overwrite the first one?

The practicality of it also bothers me. , how do you roll it, keep it secret and make sure no one cheats? maybe a dice cup and leave it covered? But I feel that has to be properly policed/mandated coz it's such a critical roll and has such a significant impact on the game.
It's a lot of extra bookkeeping or equipment required to try and do something secret fairly.

Take a photo of the dice? Then just show it to your opponent when you reveal it? Doesn’t seem too hard doing it that way.

I’m not involved with playing so I’m not sure if this is a trend or not.

I was clipping some Thralls I was going to model for apart of my cities project and noticed that it would seem most new things are put on 32mm bases. Seems odd that new IDK models are on 32 where things like all the old selves, humans dwarves are all on 25s.

not sure if it’s because they are smaller in scale or what. But thought it was something.

This isn’t really a definitive trend though. Many older models are on 32mm (lesser daemons, savage orruks etc), and various new AOS models have been put on 25mm (kharadron privateers, tzeentch horrors etc)

So really I wouldn’t worry about the 25mm going away anytime soon. In fact, I really don’t see much evidence to substantiate this supposed ‘scale creep’. New duardin v old dwarfs are the same size, same thing with skaven, daemons, BoC and others. In terms of humans, we’ve only got one unaltered human to judge from, the discontinued silver tower war priest, though  he was described as being a ‘monster of a man’ in lore iirc (he was larger than older human models).

The main difference  I can see in AOS models are more spread out, dynamics poses, instead of actual size increases, which is simply a result of no longer needing to ‘rank up’.

    Just my 2c.

GW managers allow FW at their own discretion.  If your GW manager is mostly a car salesman type person, this is often the route they go.  Their store is their catalog.  They don't want models in their store that they don't sell because someone sees a cool model and goes to buy it but they cannot.  So they go online to get it instead.

Our GW manager did not allow any FW or any older models that were no longer part of the catalog.  He also restricted your table time to an hour max.  Which is why no one plays at our GW store.  I don't use FW simply because most of the FW catalog is weak rules-wise and not every event lets you use them so they aren't really standard.

Wow, an hour max, that is really very discouraging. See for me I can understand not allowing FW in stores under that premise, ie. little jimmy walks into the store, goes 'wow cool I want that!' and then finds out he can't...but it just means I am not likely to buy a bunch of cool and expensive models from GW, which to me seems a bit of a waste of all those cool sculpts. Like you said, FW lacks proper rules and proper support. I would assume if they had that FW would likely sell much better, but who am I to judge aye?

  6. I agree that FW is currently in a bit of an odd position. It doesn't help that it's often not promoted by GW proper. At my local offical GW store, we're completely banned from using FW models under the reasoning that 'we don't sell them'.  I understand this of course but its still dissuades me from purchasing FW models for anything other than my display cabinet.
