So, the game against Tzeentch went much better than I had anticipated it to. He did seem to forget a few of his rules, one of which is his Lord of Change matching his highest casting\unbinding dice...although I'm not sure it would've helped him much.

T1
He finishes first and decides to take first turn and he stacks all of his army on his left\my right leaving only the Vortex Beast to attempt to capture the other objective. Right out of the gate he gets the spellportal off and kills a 20 unit of Clanrats on my right with a few spells that I fail to\am out of unbind range on but not much else happens... He didn't try to move any of his heroes\Vortex beast onto the objectives and decided to hold back which definitely cost him in the end.
My turn sees the WLV go off and he fails the unbind by 1 if I recall and it proceeds to start ripping apart his cluster of heroes as it likes to do. I run the Bombardier (disguised as an regular Engineer thanks a painfully slow ebay seller...) to the right objective to capture it but I misplay the left objective and bunch up too many Clanrats prevented Thanquol or the Warpseer to get in the 3" range. End 1-0 VP's.
T2
I get the double but my Warpseer continues to never get off Warpgale which has only gone off 1-2 times in my last 3 games. WLV furthers shreds in movement and Cannons + Warpseer + Clanrats kill off the Vortex Beast and I start capping the left side. Meanwhile the right side Clanrats charge his Acolytes and I string them out to reduce casualties and create a screen for my Grey Seer and Bombardier.
On his turn I manage to unbind a few of his spells but he does dispell the WLV. He only kills around 8 Clanrats out of the 40-rat unit on the left with what does go off and manages to summon in a Herald on Disc + Blue Horrors. Lots of shooting targeted at the Warpseer with only 1 going through. The WLV goes off again and gets most of his heroes down to a 1-3 wounds left. End 4-0 VP's.
T3
I take priority and re-cast WLV on a 13 (wonderful way to end) with Thanquol to finish off all but 2 of his Heroes while the WLC's put an end to the Lord of Change as he decides to concede at the end of my turn with me going 9-0 on VP's.
Overall Thoughts
I continue to really like this list and I just don't know that I would want to change it drastically by taking out Thanquol for more Clanrats\Rat Ogres\Acolytes\Gutter Runners. It definitely heavily relies on spell damage, namely with the Vortex... if anyone places heroes even remotely close together there's a good chance I will be dropping it there and Thanquol with a +2\3 isn't an easy unbind.
I think the only change I will be making for now is to remove 1 Warpfire Thrower and beef up another Clanrat unit to 40 as I was pretty sad about a single 20-rat unit getting completely wiped T1. Next time I may drop both WLC's and test out 9 Jezzails just for the hell of it and somewhere along the line I'll work to include 20 Acolytes. Unfortunately this will probably mean I would have to drop things I care about (like the Warpseer\Grey Seer\Thanquol) and I'm unsure of the payoff in comparison. Ah well, back to testing\theory-crafting. Thanks for reading, would love to hear everyone's thoughts. Are stormfiend still worthy?
For example drop thanquol,Shackles and 20 clanrats for two Stormfiends.

Hey guys... my rat-madness has me second guessing my lists a bunch, and then changes came to the models I can expect to get soon.
A friend of mine is getting x3 Carrion Empire boxes, and I have been enlisted to help him sell off extra models, and do some conversions he wants done to his FEC army he will be getting in the end. Turns out... Warp Lightning Cannons, Doomwheeels, and even the new Bomberdier are all going for around $18 on ebay these days, but Stormfiends are still worth a lot. So... instead of getting a single skaven half of one of the boxes, I can choose out the skaven engines instead by not using any stormfiends as they cover the cost of two engines on their own more or less.
This means I am going to get my hands on x4 Warp Lightning Cannons and x2 Warlocks for effectively free.
That caused me to reevaluate my list, and I realized that even though I wanted to make Jezzails conversions, a Warp Lightning Cannon is more reliable even than the x6 Jezzails I was going to have in my army. New list has come from the ashes of all these changes, is it madness?
SKAVENTIDE
Arch-Warlock: Deranged Inventor, Esoteric Warp Resonator
Warlock Bombardier
Warlock Bombardier
Thanquol on Boneripper: x4 Warpfire Projectors
x20 Clanrats
x20 Clanrats
x20 Clanrats
x4 Warp Lightning Cannons
x2 Warpfire Throwers
Endless Spell: Soulsnare Shackles
That is an even 2000 points. My intention is to be a 'gunline' list, and my main opponents are Daughter of Khaine, and soon FEC. I realized that we can use the 'Deranged Inventor' to make the Bombardiers much safer to use More-More Doomrocket! as getting double 1's is much less likely. Obviously we will do it still, but it should be much less. Likewise, the second Bombardier can use a Warpstone Spark to also reroll hits. That means my x4 Lightning Cannons AND x2 Bombardiers are 'reliably' shooting a bunch of long range death, while wrapped in a furry clanrat shield. Meanwhile the Warpfire Thrower teams lurk in the clanrats to melt enemy units once they are done polishing off the clanrats. Likewise Thanqoul melts things and also beefs up the frontline. I figure Bombardiers and Lightning Cannons can focus on things like Cauldrons of Blood, Zombie Dragons, or even support heroes or small elite unit... freeing up all of my glorious warp fire from Thanquol and the weapon teams to vaporize large horde units like Witches and Ghouls.
Is this madness? And is there any reason to use Clans Skryre and Acolytes as battleline? I was tempted because the poison wind globes are more dakka... but I would end up with less bodies. That said... my intention is for the clanrats to die to clear a way for weapon teams anyways... I am not sure the extra bodies are worth the loss in dakka.
I really like you list but @Skreech Verminkingmade me notice that the lack of bodies can be a problem vs stronger battlelines, what about this:

Your list will definitely conquer the magic and shooting phase.
the problem which comes with this list, though is the staying power in combat.
Playing against Dok or deepkins you may notice that something that can hold those aelve for some turns will be necessary, and 60clanrats will sadly just be slaughtered in the first turn of combat, which mean that you’d have only your fantastic shooting units left, with which you really don’t want to go into combat.
so taking another 40-60clanrats should give you that staying power
Mmh,i can remove the WLV and the WT,seems the safest choice since i dont have a reliable cast without a grey seer,i still feel that im going in the wrong way keeping the Stormfiends at any cost.

I know this is a cross post but just in case anyone missed my post on the main thread, I’ve had a GW rep tell me that the 32mm bases they sent my with Acolytes are the correct size, so maybe wait for that FAQ next weekend before basing your kitbashes?
Acolytes have 25mm bases if the description on GW site is correct.

WLV is pretty good so I’d keep it if possible. If you have Stormfiends with Projectors and Thanquol AND 2 Throwers your anti-horde game will be amazing but you might lose out vs. more elite armies. I don’t have all the answers, nor am I a great player, but something to think about maybe.
No problem, ive reasoned about different things reading you posts.
8 minutes ago, Baron Wastelands said:Couple of things - while Thanquol is a beast in his own right, you don’t really gain any synergy with a Skryre army, and you actually lose the potential for some good synergy by not having a Skryre general. An arch warlock with with a vigordust injector can make a unit of ranged stormfiends (say, 6 with 2 ratling guns, 2 windlaunchers and 2 (shock) gauntlets) absolutely lethal when feeding them a spark and deranged inventor as well. As your list is also stormfiends heavy, I think you almost need these to make them work. The other way to run stormfiends currently (IMO anyway, and if you want to run in 3s) is close range, say 3 with 1 projector, 1 grinderfists (to get close to begin with, and not shabby in melee), and 1 (shock) gauntlets. Not taking Thanquol would also allow you to take more bodies/toys - consider some acolytes for objective camping and another WLC, as these are always better in multiples. I’d take out Thanquol and at least one of your engineers (probably 2, or 1 and the bombardier), take out the grinder team (fiends can move themselves now, and don’t forget gnawholes), add an arch warlock, another cannon, and maybe either 3 more stormfiends (bulk at least one unit to 6) and 5 acolytes, or add 20 acolytes and another warpfire team, hiding the warpfire teams among your acolytes and use the blob to go horde hunting, while your stormfiends deal with elites and monsters.
Lastly, under no circumstances make your bombardier the general. He’s a suicide unit, that risks all for big payoff until he blows himself up!
Very very helpful,thanks a lot!
I was working at a list without a Stormfiend squad but i felt that was the wrong path just to keep Thanquol...the theorycrafting must go on.
-
I had a doubt about the general, thanks to make me notice it.
My idea was to have 2 WLC and 10 Acolytes but im strict with the points.
Is removing the WLV a bad idea?

It's from Death, that's all that matter.
Yes,the bars seems definetly bones but they used a dark paint to color them.
I think that is some sort of vampire based army with nobles as HQ,some fully transformed vampire(we can see the leg in a RE) and half-transformed villagers as a troop.
