December’s new release announcement is just another kick in the teeth to AOS players.

We get one new model, that we already have a model for, for the largest army already.

meanwhile 40k sees 11 new models and 2 more books.

Just say it GW. AOS is an afterthought.

If next year actually has any releases for AOS( main game, not one of the 12 alternatives) how much of you player base are you going to lose in the meantime. I think I’m about to just put it down. Sick of the disappointment.

Then get out. You won't be missed.

Like seriously, and sorry if this does come as too negative/abrasive, how much of a spoiled brat  can you be? Oh god they didn't give us anything (aside from a ton of supplements) this latter half of the year, we are NOTHING TO THEM BOOHOOHOOHOO!!

Because nevermind that we dominated the first third of year, which is meant to be 40k's  30th birthday (you know, something that MAAAYBE could be viewed as an especial occasion and thus elicit special attention!) Or that back in 2016, 40k got nothing until june-july. Yeah, sure, all this  means that AoS is an after-thought. It certainly doesn't mean, AT ALL, that they are banking on a special occassion and thus giving extra attention to event game.

  2. So i think this may be an issue some may be having with the spanish translation but: does the loser of the first roll-off get to place the first board? To my understanding: NO, it doesn't. But it seems the general consensus that it IS so, rather than the winner getting to place them both.

What about the unnamdd dwarf that made an appearance in the Spear of Shadows who had the conversation with Grungni.  It was obviously meant to be the White Dwarf and he mentions how even Grungni cannot command him.  Perhaps Gotrek will get a similar treatment and be a living Ancestor God.

    You mean grombrindal? possibly.

I thought only immortal folk from the old world survived? What counts as immortal? Elfs, undead, toad god, chaos things?

Not really. Zhufbar's folk survived the end times by digging their way out non-stop.  As for gotrek, this could be happening in the very early age of myth.

Is there any more information on this out there? Who's writing it, release date, what Gotrek's up to, ect? Total shocker and very excited.

Not Jreynolds, but according to him it's going to be "excellent"

I certainly like Confusion but do think Distraction is typically better. Easier to use phase 1 and helps clearing or essentially turing thread range to 4-5.

Healing Potion is fantastic and a must include for all Warbands with 2+ 4 wound models. Containment is a good but Denial is better first. As Containment doesnt work if opponents are in the Neutral.

Other than that, boardchoke is ideal for Orruks too. 3 to 4 hex connect is excellent depending on board.

Well, containment and denial can be a nasty combo to achieve if you play pretty agressive and/or with a boardchoke, since you only need to push one tile more than required for the latter to achieve the first .

You lot know better than me, how much do we trust games workshop employees? Manager of my local GW suggested skaven and dwarves could be with us after the necromunda release. I had only read 1st quarter 2018 for these.

Well, they can shimy over their release schedules over a bit. Considering ironskull and skellies were in november, these would get out in december at the very least, so a couple of weeks (hopefully!) of delay ain't much.

By the way, aside from LVO and B&G is there any noteworthy event? It seems tournament scene may be doing pretty decent, considering in one of my LGSs we can barely scroung 4 players for AoS events while shadespire racked 6 (plus two that had to withdraw due to personal and unexpected issues) at the first attempt.

  8. I'm having fairly decent results with my KBB objective deck. Basically, 8 out of 12 objectives are based on holding stuff, with the other four being divide and conquer, ploymaster, superb strategist and champion of khorne just in case. For upgrades and ploy I generally focus on stuff like generating shards, moving characters, soultrap and the upgrade that lets you switch objectives. It's fun to play, not very engaging to play against.

I generally try to get the board in vertical, and placing the objectives at the back end.

  9. Also,  Brutal but Kunnin and Kunnin but Brutal, combined with either the double support or lead by example can lead with a nasty combo. Leaving aside that you get inmediatelly get ploymaster, you're likeing to down two non-SCE characters (in my case downed the champion and reaper) and put a lot of presure on a rather wide Area. That in a single activation.

Daemon weapon I haven't tried yet, but I think that basha would benefit greatly from it (or hakka, cannot remember which is which)

I'm at once excited and a little apprehensive about this darker new age and return of death being hinted at. On the one hand it all sounds awesome in and of itself - narrative progression and Nagash returning in a big way is a big thumbs up. I love that GW is daring to move things forward.

But... (and this may be an unpopular opinion) I wonder if Age of Sigmar is actually ready to leap forward like that. It's a little hard to take GA Death seriously as a threat when it's roughly the same size as the Stormcast product line, never mind the entire rest of Order. A clampack and 1-2 new boxes won't really change that (especially when they'll probably be matched by new Stormcast releases xD). Wouldn't it be better if they spent a year releasing/fleshing out 2-3 new death armies first?

Okay, who's to say they won't be doing this before releasing Malign Portents proper? Remember, Soul Wars, the campaign's tie in is released in June, so that gives you half a year of time to build up.

Another interesting part of that rumor conversation is that GW had given up on AoS bc of the bad start and thats why we have had a gap in models. Would actually make sense, and explain why instead of armies we’ve been getting ways to use existing models.

No, that's another guy who had no info and was inferring stuff.
