So going off rumor numbers for USD, it will save you about $40, basically a free Bullgor kit.

    Shaman x1
    Bullgors x6
Cygor x1 (Should be the dual kit, it didn't save that but I'm going to assume its both)

Rumor price is 90€, USD should be 127 (So it could be 124.25, 130, 129, etc.. it'll be around there), the USD price total of the models are $169.

I personally won't get this unless there is something else with it like a unique Shaman, as I already have 6 Start Collecting boxes, i really don't need more shamans or behemoths.

The savings are potentially even more than that (in the UK at least) when you consider 3rd party sellers as the contents individually are 'GW direct' rather than normal stock lines.  These products only get at best a 10% reduction from 3rd parties, where as this set will be available for 25% off. Basically means if you are buying it for the Bullgors, the Cygor and Shaman will be free.

I agree thats not much use if you already have that many SC, but i only have 2 SC, so will likely pick up 2 of these new sets.

Didn’t they say that Gloomspite will have the BR treatment in Kragnos?

Good point, could be a squig herd?  My first thought was Beastclaw Raiders (now Mawtribes) and Ogre Butcher (finecast model? so not likley in a box set) but there could be lots of options for the herd word.

There seems to be some army battalion on BR: Kragnos after all:

    - Broken Realms: The butcher-herd (Beast of Chaos?) - 90€

    - Broken Realms: The exquisite pursuit (Slaanesh) - 70€

    - Broquen Realms: Rattachak's doom-coven (Skaven?) - 70€

    - Borken Realms: Drycha's spitegrove (Sylvaneth) - 80€

Kragnos is 125€ and Kroak 90€.

Id have assumed butcher-herd would be destruction, Mawtribes specifically, given Kragnos is destruction. Herd does suggest beastmen though

  4. So for the first unread post issue.  Clicking the blue button works... if you are in the forums.  But on the site home page the 'popular now' and 'recent topics' listings dont have buttons, so click those and you go to the first page of those threads, logged in or not. That is generally how i used to navigate the site and i thought it used to still take you to first unread, now it does not, but ive not been on TGA hardly at all over lockdown so well behind the curve on what changes have happened here so sorry if this is a known thing. Thanks.

  5. So if you have spent money elsewhere, or not at all, and you are bothered by this or lost interest in GW products, email them.  Forum posting might get noticed but a bunch of well thought out non-ranty or hyperbole emails explaining your thoughts may just get passed on.

I dont think it will make a difference in this specific instance about Cursed City coming back or getting a response, as the decisions about this will now be at the top level and concern on share prices will make them keep sweeping CC under the rug, so the only response we will get will be a statement in the end of year report about positives and negatives of the past operating period. BUT, knowing there is a person on the end of their actions, either through feedback or sales figures, will be considered in future actions.

Do note that an option of "I wanted to get the set later, because GW told it was a permanent addition to the range" is missing.

So as the person most impacted by this, has it changed your buying habits?  as in actually. Money in your bank and not spending it on GW.  Be good to get an actual opinion from an affected party.

Cant speak for everyone obviously but most people seeming to think GW acted badly are still posting in other threads about GW games and what armies/units to buy for gaming.  So while GW have acted very poorly, it has (as is often the case) made little difference to the bottom line.

How is Azyr not up-to-date? I see every single new unit, ability and points change being updated regularly. Can you please give me any examples?

It's the Warscroll builder that has hardly any support at all.

This is an honest question because as of now Azyr has never given me any reason to not rely on it and apparently that might be wrong.

Meanwhile one of THE biggest complains people have with GW is how any of their books is just good for 2 weeks before already being outdated.

There have been numerous occasions where Azyr has been wrong, either points, not getting list building right, not uniformly updating FAQ (as you say most go in but people have reported errors in the past).  Many arguments on here and facbook groups about are caused by people quoting what you can and cannot do on warscroll builder or Azyr, especially battleline, allegiance or artefect allotment.  I cant quote anything here as ive not followed it for a while and they do update/correct the apps (if slowly), but we are currently talking about incorrect points for something that was changed in the GHB (6 months ago!) so there is one example.

While it can obviously be used as an easy reference the definitive 'correct' rules are those in printed copy when used alongside Errata documents.  Id love it if they switched to Azyr as the focus but thats not what they currently do sadly.  So in summary, if there is any question about rules or how something works, dont use the apps as a reference, check the books and Errata. 😁

Azyr isn’t the official source. The Pitched Battle Profile booklet (and any books after) that came with the GHB19 is the official source. The diamonds indicating change  is there just for your convenience and was missing from other lists as well. No need to FAQ it, in fact there’s already a FAQ that clarifies what sources count for point cost.

Yes this is what made me ask the question, as i didnt have the GHB to hand.  Its a shame GW cant keep the Azyr app up to date but people need to stop relying on it, even the best checked app can be wrong (admittedly so can the GHB but its hard copy so its what we use until a FAQ changes it).

  9. Hi all,  does anyone know the current points of the Briar Queen and co.

They are 180pts in Warscroll Builder , and 150pts in the AoS app and the GW download.  I dont have my GHB to hand to check if it was changed.

    Copy pasted from Reddit:

The 6 Shadespire Warbands (Sepulchral Guard, Chosen Axes, Ironskull’s Boyz, Magore’s Fiends, Farstriders, Spiteclaw’s Swarm) are no longer available to order.

Some of your customers may have questions about what this means for their existing decks, warbands, and games. We will soon be publishing a Warhammer Community article about the future for Warhammer Underworlds. For now, be assured that all current warbands will be playable in Beastgrave!

Source: Email to retailers from GW.

'For now' and 'current warbands' is very specific wording.  Looks like others have speculated they dont want to keep 3+ seasons of warbands running at the same time.  Expect for competitive play card ranges will be restricted. Doesnt affect me as just play with friends, but we all know how competitive rules drop into casual play against new people.

Going to a small 3-round tournament this weekend. The list below is constructed according to what models I have painted, so I cannot really change them. I would have wanted to replace the castigators and the battalion with more bodies, but as said, it's not an option at the moment.

I usually put the ballistas, castigators and lord-ordinator into celestial realm to get them into a good firing position on round one. On top of that I usually leave the third unit of sequitors (that is not in the battalion) in reserve too, to force the opponent to leave units to his backlines to protect the objective(s) there.

What do you think of the Artefact/Trait/Spell choices? What about swapping the Phalanx to the Battery? What kind of "general strategy" would you use with this list?

    Allegiance: Stormcast Eternals
    Mortal Realm: Ghur
    Lord-Arcanum on Gryph-Charger (220)
    - General
    - Trait: Staunch Defender
    - Artefact: Gryph-feather Charm
    - Spell: Azyrite Halo
    - Mount Trait: Wind Runner
    Knight-Incantor (140)
    - Scrolls of Power (Artefact): Scroll of Condemnation
    - Spell: Chain Lightning
    Knight-Incantor (140)
    - Spell: Stormcaller
    Lord-Ordinator (140)
    5 x Sequitors (130)
    - Stormsmite Mauls and Soulshields
    - 2x Stormsmite Greatmaces
    5 x Sequitors (130)
    - Stormsmite Mauls and Soulshields
    - 2x Stormsmite Greatmaces
    5 x Sequitors (130)
    - Stormsmite Mauls and Soulshields
    - 2x Stormsmite Greatmaces
    5 x Evocators (220)
    - 2x Grandstaves
    - Lore of Invigoration: Celestial Blades
    5 x Evocators (220)
    - 2x Grandstaves
    - Lore of Invigoration: Celestial Blades
    6 x Castigators (160)
    Celestar Ballista (110)
    Celestar Ballista (110)
    Cleansing Phalanx (120)
    Quicksilver Swords (30)

    Total: 2000 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 1
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 108

I tired the cleansing phalanx for a while and struggled to get any benefit out of it other than reduced drops, CP and artefact (thats good enough though to be fair). With your list your drops are still high so I think for me 10 evocators is better than 2x5 and use the 120 points of the battalion on something else if you have it. Comet would be a good one, always fun in a SC list if you havent bought the model yet.

it is pretty weird... but that almost makes me think that sometime in the future there will be separate mount profile cards that certain champions can ride?

Look at what they have done with Kill Team, we have Heros and Elites, be unsurprising to have Warcry not include similar larger stronger models in the future (hopefully more new sculpts since we are on a chaos focus, and then of course AoS allegiances booster packs to add to the cards everyone can buy now 😉)

I’m curious as to exactly what will come in the storm vault set; from the photos it looks an awful lot like the $160 terrain set that was just released but there’s no way they’d re-release such a new kit at half the price (assuming they are in the same $80-90 price range as the Kill Team battleground sets) right after the first launch. A year after the initial release I could see it but a month later seems like an awful FU to the players who bought the large box.

Look like 2 medium plinth (shattered temple) pieces, a pair of dogs sprue, and a bridge/small plinth sprue. Cant see any pillars shown in the pic for this new set?

Based on the current big set is £95, this new set would be minus the half round half square dias and pillars part of the set, say £40ish (round dias price separate), then add on £27 for another shattered temple plinth (and minus a bit for the pillars from that set).  So maybe £70-80ish of value for the Shattered Stormvault set of estimate rrp £55-60.  Yeah its not bad.

I apologize in advance if the question sounds silly, but what is the ITC world rankings? Sounds like some kind of global way to rank players? If so what tournaments are taken into consideration for something like this? Again sorry but in Greece we are a bit behind on these things...

Two weekends ago I took part in my first Heat GT ever so I'm new to the global warhammer scene..  🙂

Its like World Series baseball, its essentially the US rankings  🤣

(no offence PJetski, you are a super ace player and community contributor, but ITC means nothing outside of US for AoS).

How crucial is it to bring a Heraldor, Vexillor or Translocation for mobility, do we think?

I’m weighing up the value of 10 Sequitors plus one of the above to grab objectives, or 20 Sequitors and winning through brute force.

Some way to add speed always adds benefits, like being able to block enemy movement or getting into combat when we need to.  I dont do much shooting though, mobility for capturing objectives usually ties in with that (capping objectives youve cleared with shooting). Most of the time having the right stuff in the Celestial Realm is what ive done over points spent on relocation.  Heraldor though is always worth a look, can pump out a serious amount of mortal wounds with his horn blast.

  17. Ran a 6 strong unit of Dracoline at the weekend with an Arcanum on Dracoline and a cheeky Heraldor for run and charge.  They did well and lasted a good amount of time even when getting battered about, but perhaps that should be expected for 600pts.  Struggled to make Pride Leader work on the unit as positioning was difficult to get the Lord tight against the unit for the wholly within 9", but when it worked it was amazing.  I run as Tempest Lords (for my sins) so while I lose out elsewhere I am often lucky enough to have plenty of command points to spend, so was throwing 2 down at time on the Pack Alpha command ability to get 5 attacks from the mounts, my rolling was terrible so i think this saved me somewhat as I was always doing something with those attacks rather than a massive whiff.

Looking forward to getting them stuck into tougher targets at a tournament next weekend.

Im liking Mhornar the more I reread it. Reroll hits against a unit then getting +1 to hit from Escort Wing could wipe enemy units of choice quickly. How about this? The 50 extra points is akward but can be used for another CP I guess.

Ooo interesting. 4 haulers starts to get nasty.  Think id rather have more wardens, 3 units of 3, instead of the second unit of thunderers. Lose the bonus CP though. Would put a lot of units spread across the board, could be hard to deal with.

  19. 5 minutes ago, EMMachine said:

How do you get 3 units in the realm in Spearhead?

You must have placed a unit on the field to put a unit into the realm. The other 5 units don't exist at this point because there decision to be placed on the field or into the celestial realm is made when their detachment would be placed. So you need 2 units in spearhead to place one in the Celestial Realm because the first unit must be placed on the board.

I said 3 (of 6), I'd mis read as you had 6 units in the spearhead.  You are right, if you only have one unit it cant be in the realm.
