  1. well example of the tournament I will participate next Sunday: 24 players, 17 differents armies, 2 armies with 3 lists and 3 with 2 lists, all completely different.

I am mixed on this: I am not really a competitive player, just enjoy 3/4 1 day tournaments a year, and don‘t play so much AOS as I am also in 40K and Kill Team and Bloodbowl.

so very cool go have the chance to play again new armies/new battletomes but

in the same I‘am struggling to understand the other lists (even if we have the chance to get all the lists participating 1 week in advance)

so good for the variety, but probably less game „quality“

Start with skirmish. If she likes mechanics maybe a small (narrative) campaign and then some bigger games starting with 500pts and scaling up every couple of games.

Thats how I roped in friends recently and hope to rope in my girlfriend someday.

The main problem it helps with is complexity of the games. And as a result the duration.

You could even do the first game with only melee troops, game two add some archers, game three a wizard, game four play the six game campaign  and let her build the list, make mistakes and after game six go to a 500-750 pts game.

The looking up rules is what makes the game last long and can be frustrating. Especially when starting out and turn 2 you realise the mistake you made turn 1 and now you ‘wasted’ an hour on that only to give up or restart. Skirmish is much more forgiving in my mind. (And if she wants an own force she will be able to play her own miniatures faster)

I started AOS and the hobby 3,5 years ago with my boys (9 and 6 at the time) and yes we slowly started with the scenarii from the Stromcast/Khorne 1st edition box. very good learning curve, and since completely into the game, even participating with the boys to AOS turnaments each 2 months for 2 years now in Switzerland and France (1st 40K one next month). it is now a family hobby, with boys starting to be better than me at playing, but I still be the one painting most of the figs.

Just start with some quick games, with your different srmies to show the differences and then add complexity slowly.

Also a book or a battletome to read for the fluff and some youtube videos ( it works better with my boys) for fluff/ army rules/ battle reports  and then nothing else matters than AOS

No, no, no. It totally is THE RETURN. We're getting Tomb King Stormcasts.

Fact: GW always has Stormcasts in their boxes with new models.
We can say that GW wants the Stormcast to RULE.

Fact: The teaser art shows a half Stormcast. half Undead face.
That 99.99% confirms a unit with links to Order and Death.

Fact: The tomb in the teaser video has kinda egyptian mottifs.
It's a TOMB! And who better to RULE than a KING?

Fact!: I really want Egyptian Stormcast.

Any other conclusion is whislisting, These are the facts.

if you want Egyptian Stromcast, just play Thousand Sons at 40K

Only AoS of course as I don't play other systems. As I said above there are currently 825 valid warscrolls for AoS (including Forgeworld, Warhammer Underworlds, Warhammer Quest, Compendium, Scenery and Endless Spells). I currently own models for 623 of these (not neccessarily all original GW/Forgeworld, but most of them). I have about 8000 models in total which would have a matched battle point value of more than 260k.

Wow! GW should offer you as reward for your dedication the new Forge World   Khorne Dragon, and at live-free ticket to Warhammer World!!!

Given that you are a Duke, and appear to have ten thousand men, have you ever marched them up to the top of a hill and then back down again?
Its an awesome collection, a really impressive set of models. Getting everything for one faction is challenging, I can't imagine how long it would take to get all of them.

do you mean only AOS or also 40K, Bloodbowl...?😜

This is awesome to see. I'm relatively new to the game so other than a descent sized stormcast army (3k maybe?) I've only dabbled with a box or two each of other army's models. I'd love to have a single army over 10k someday but haven't figured out which faction would keep me interested that long.

just go for chaos daemons. you get 4 differents armies that you can mix (or not),  and you can add slaves to darkness models and skavens models (nurgle).

and if one day you want to try and play 40k you also have an enjoyable army to start with

It does look like thats it for this year. Weve got shadespire (still not out for 2 weeks!!), followed by the skelly and ironjaw warbands, then in november necromunda is out along with nids and aeldari iirc, so id expect no more than the other 4 shadespire warbands. In december theyll hopefully do some army boxes (last years were fantastic) and if were really lucky we might get some stuff (thousand sons were released in december last year, first time weve had a proper release in december for... decades i think!) but i wouldnt count on it.

So january it is - we had arcanites, tzeentch daemons and vanguard chamber in quick succession at the start of this year so hopefully we'll see something similar in 2018. I wonder what the new stormcast chamber will be ;)

I guess it will be some heretics Stormcast... but not from Chaos, but Death...

If I am not wrong im one of the books, one Lord Relictor has a brother within Death, and we know that each time they are reforged they lose a part of their souls.

    The Vandus Heresy....

You guys are beating this horse to death <boom>

I want more KO leaked warscrolls and info, please!

    here you are:

Khornish Zombies featuring dead Bloodreavers half-eated by surviving cannibal Bloodreavers ?

with a dual Warscroll with Death keyword as well as Khorne keyword ?

  10. Who knows what will happen with Death?

After all, Death being already dead, they cannot be completely murdered and disappear...

What if the old TK have simply taken a sabbatical á la Sigmar, simply for coming back stronger?

Would love to see a new starter set/edition of AOS with new TK against either a new Stromcast Chamber or Slaanesh / Aelfs.

I am quite new to the GW world as I started only 18 months ago, but with what happened during this period, I would not be surprised by such a move.

  11. 2 crazy ideas for the rumour engine:

    - might it not be a part of a dwarf armour for Blood Bowl? I think the dwarf team is the next one to be released?

    - I think I read somewhere that something big is coming tomorrow (18th) or this weekend (19th). Might it not be a dual kit (both playable for AoS and 40K) with Dwarfs and Tzeench? It would be BIG, it would interest those waiting for the next campaign and new releases for AoS before Christmas and not really interested in the big starter boxes, and it would fit also with Magnus. But they said on the warhammer community site that is was something for next year only.... so don't know...

  12. I heard on Saturday in a GW shop: 8 Mega bundles, even spitted 40K and AoS, i.e. 4 for Aos.

For Aos: 1 for each Grand Alliance:

    - Order: Sylvaneth

    - Chaos: Khorne Bloodbound

    - Death: not mentionned

    - Destruction: not mentionned.

Price would be twice the normal Start Collecting Boxes price (i.e. 100 £ or 130 €), with around twice the minis. But this is not 2x the Start Collecting Box in term of minis.

It might be released on 19th of November (not sure whether it would be the pre-order day or the final release).

I also heard that beautiful models are on their way, with, for Chaos, especially Tzeench but also Slaanesh were mentionned. Release date not sure, maybe starting still this year but more probably beginning of next. Next year would be as interesting as this one, or even more.

It seems also that GW sells currently more AoS products than 40K ones on a worldwide basis.

  13. I was yesterday in Zürich, and went to the Tactica Games shop, wonderful shop, which fully support Age of Sigmar. The manager told me that quite a few people are playing AoS there (but they probably don't know yet TGA).

Special online forum on the internet site of the shop (only for registered people) for discussing and organising local games.

I am in the process of being registered, and hopefully will be able to play there.

For those interested, here below the contact détails:
