  1. The idea of painting Corsairs as a "horde" - which the massive points decrease (i.e. 400 to 260 for a unit of 40) leans towards - makes me want to gouge my own eyes out.

They are not super detailed, but just contain so many different "elements" compared to the more monochromatic options in other factions.

    EDIT: "decrease", obviously.

I don't mind it being stormcast, but this model only works for us if he comes with a helmeted option. I know bare faced models is something fans want to provide 'humanity' to the Stormcast, but we much prefer the idea of them being almost etheral/spiritual beings in the armour.

"us" and "we" = "me" and "I".

Stormcast players - or AoS players in general for that matter - are not some kind of hive mind.

Some like the more mysterious helmeted look, while other prefer more humanity (such as the poster above).

GW are catering to both, and rightly so. In fact, helmeted have gotten 95% of the Stormcast releases so far, so I am sure there will be sufficient options that wont result in having to include lame, "old-hat" humans.

Any word about a darkling coven hero being the next one in Malign?

    Is this based on anything?

I know that a Darkling Covens ability (I forget which one) says that a hero/general that isn't a magician becomes one, which confused some as both characters are sorceresses.

However, rather than being a hint at a new release, most took it as an oversight from GW.

Just that what AoS does not need is a return to the grim dark of WHFB.

Why? It's an ongoing story, and will be somewhat cyclical.

There will be periods of light, periods of darkness and everything inbetween.

Although I feel they got off to a rocky start, if the future warscrolls are the same as Idol of Gork we should be fine.

Forgeworld have major issues with their Keywords. or a lack thereof.

In these days of allies, things need to be faction-aligned, as mixed GA armies are less of a thing now.

Case in point, the Magma Dragon. It's a wrecking machine, but requires a mixed Destruction list to be usable and doesn't really fit the visual theme of any Destruction faction.

A switch to Order: Fyreslayers would work wonders for its sales IMHO, and would fit the overall theme really well.

The Carmine Dragon (Collegiate Arcane), Preyton/Incarnate of Beasts (Bray/Warherd), Dreadmaw/Merwyrm (Fimir?) all suffer from the same issues, and I don't think its a coincidence that its the faction-aligned Mourngul, Gorkamorka and exhalted greater daemons that get talked about the most often.

I always admire selfless people. I guess you are not ashamed of your self ?

Having an OOP army in the upper tiers is not feasible, and GW know it. The nerf is happening - no matter what you or I feel about it. Let's just hope its not quite as severe as was suggested by the previews a few month's back.

Furthermore, dropping back to a normal (i.e. not weak) power level, takes the target off the Tomb Kings' back with regards to calls for compendium exclusions in tournaments, etc. I guess such players would be far more willing to tolerate an army with limited model availability, familiarity and "officialness" if they aren't competing at the very sharpest end of the scale.

PS: In my opinion, TK's competitive feasibility has taken the limited number of models away from players who, you know, just like the Tomb Kings. Anyway, "ashamed" somehow suggests that these opinions on an online message board contributed to this situation in some way, so maybe you should wind your neck in a bit mate.

  7. For Tzeentch (and I assume the upcoming Khorne) is there anything at all to differentiate all-daemon armies (e.g. sexier battleline, etc.)?

I had a feeling each God would become a faction rather than two or three, but I tend to prefer daemons to mortals.

  8. As an aside, I'm not a web designer, but that Warhammer Community website looks kinda amateurish to me.

Unless its just my screen, the font looks wrong and there are gaps between paragraphs/photos that are either too small or too large. The "Quick Links" at the bottom are all over the shop, too.

Also problem is how to make in line with other Battletomes. Usually Battletomes use limited number of units/characters and that's what I hated about Tomb King unoffical Battletome - too many units and too much flexibility when GW idea is clear considering brand new faction Battletomes - 4-5 new units/leaders + 3-5 older units/leaders. Look at Sylvaneth or rumored Duardin. So unless Bretonnia Battletome is limited to few units it won't work considering how Battletomes are constructed.

But Seraphon have loads of options yoo, right? I believe they only lost a tiny number of units as Lizardmen.

    Clan Eshin you say?...Go onnnnnnn

Apologies, I was quoting a previous conversation regarding Silver Tower characters who have had nothing else for their AoS faction. I have no rumour info.

One of the rumormongers did mention Skaven in 2017 though. Eshin would seem the most likely existing Skaven faction IMHO, but could be a whole new clan of course.
