What do you guys think of this as a starter list?

    Petrifex Elite

Liege Kavalos: General, +2 Wound trait and ignore first wound item.
    Boneshaper: Empower Weapons.
    Soulmason: Empower Shields.

    20 Guard: Blades.
    20 Guard: Blades.
    6 Stalkers: Blades.
    5 Deathriders: Blades.

    Crawler.
    Harvester: Bludgeons.

    Bonetithe Shrieker.

    2000pts

Kavlos and Deathriders roll together.  I figure I need something fast for grabbing objectives and this is all we have. I think the Guard with blades are actually pretty solid models. I also really wan Stalkers with blades to be amazing. The Crawler seems good, but it's going to end up sitting there undefended. Maybe I'll break one of the 20 Guard units into 2x10.

Is it weird I haven't bothered with the extra two-handed swords in any of the units?

It's also interesting that the Shrieker buffs all hit rolls- not just melee. So it'll buff the Crawler and Harvester's guns.

The more I look at it, the more I feel like I need less characters and more actual meat. Everything is so expensive. There's this weird Skornergy between wanting to run min-max to get more discipline points and being able to get the most out of buffing units.

At least with this, I'm generating 4 points and rolling 9D6.

I'm working on something similar. But I have Arkhan and no Crawler.

The general consensus seems to be:

    Morghast with Halberds.

    Mortek Guard with swords

Immortis Guard at least a trio.

As for heroes I will be getting:

    Liege Kavalos

    Boneshaper

    Soulmason

plus a Harvester as I am going Crematorian.

I am trying not to go mad and end up with a huge pile of stuff for the army.

Yeah I went crazy when KO was released and it was a huge waste of $$$ since the army was trash back then.

  3. I picked up two Feast of bones boxes and was thinking that I would go for a Petrifex elite army.  I was stupid enough to order the book and won't see it until monday... But how should I build my two sets and when it comes to other units and characters, what should I get?

Take Tempest's Eye as the city. They have a rule that up to 1 in 4 units can be Kharadron, and they gain the city keyword so benefit from city rules, no limits on points. You'll need to keep the CoS units cheap to take a bunch to give you more Kharadron slots. Pistoliers and outriders are pretty cheap points-wise, are battleline in Tempest's Eye, and can be used in the Tempest's Eye battallion (with a freeguild general and even 2 gunhaulers) so that's one place to start.

Bear in mind Kharadron are one of the very last 1.0 tomes (only 4 left to do) so are expected to get a new battletome in the next 2-3 months, which may impact on what are the best units.

Oh I didn't know that a new battletome was coming. Then I'll wait for that instead 😊

  5. Just bought a start collecting beastclaw raiders box. How should I build it? I also have:

    2 Tyrants

    1 Butcher

    24 Gluttons with 2 weapons

    24 Gluttons with ironfists

    8 Ironguts

    10 Leadbelchers

    20 Gnoblars

    2 Ironblasters

There is a third allegiance option "Da Big Waaagh!" which can be selected INSTEAD of Ironjawz or Bonesplitterz.

Your allegiance ability becomes Waaagh! Points which stacks up giving you stacking passive bonuses as it increases. You also have the ability to spend varying amounts for one off bonuses.

The following bonuses as things you can Don't get if you take this allegiance and not the Ironjawz, no matter how many points you build up.

    1. Smashing and Bashing
    2. Mighty Destroyers.

That said there is a niche case where if you take an Ironfist technically you get a single use of Mighty Destroyers each turn from the Ironfist Boss.

    Thank you 😊

I think we've seen (directly or not) almost everything :
    Army-WC.jpg
    Nagash
    Orpheon Katakros
    Arkhan
Mounted hero (undead gryph charger style)
    Coffin hero
    Walking chair hero
    Scythe hero
    Bonesculpting hero (Mortisian Boneshaper)
Base soldier (w/ swords or lances, probably two-handed swords for special weapons)
Four-arms giant soldiers (w/ offensive setup including single-handed swords or two-handed swords or defensive setup with polearm)
    Mounted soldiers
    Gothizzar Harvester
    Morghasts
    Siege engine

That's already a wide array of new miniatures and a good diversity of roles on the battlefield covered. And we've got faction terrain !

I wonder if we will have several battleline units. Or just different ones depending on the general.

  8. Bought 12 Bulls, 12 Ironguts, 7 Leadbelchers and 24 Grots. All Bulls had Ironfists so I will try to change arms... But the lot was so cheap that it was worth it anyway. I basically got the Leadbelchers Bulls and Grots for free 😊

  9. Have the chance to buy

    18 Bulls

    7 Leadbelchers

    12 Ironguts

    20 Grots

    1 Ironblaster

Is that a good starting point? I dont see Leadbelchers or Ironguts that often.

And what weapons works best for the Bulls?
