Is there any rule from 9th edition 40k that could be passed to AoS? I'm reading 8th edition 40k and it has some interesting rules that could be fun to play with in AoS.

I have loved 40k’s stratagem system and would loved to see it implemented in AOS. It would take some tweaking but I have always found the command point system too limited and constricting.

  2. I ran across these pretty awesome vampire minis from TitanForge.  They release the 3D printing files for them as part of their Patreon service. Has anyone had any experienced with them? I would love to see some of the actual models.

  3. After grinding through a bunch of Spirit Hosts and Grimghast Reapers, this month I am going to reward myself with some heroes. Got a Guardian Of Souls, a Spirit Of Torment and a Knight Of Shrouds prepped and ready to go. If I get some extra time I hope to start the big ghost Lady herself.

  4. Was working on my test model for my Grimghast Reapers. I wanted to match them up with my Spirit Hosts. My first one, on the left, came out dark. I liked the contrast of the dark colors but it does clashes a bit. The second one, on the right, came out lighter. I like it but maybe a bit flat. What do you guys think?

They look really cool. Does all of your ghosts look like this? Share some pics.

Thx, I have had a blast working on them. The Hosts are my first painted ghost models, though this month I am hoping to jam through a chunk of Grimghasts. I am trying to do the scheme Israel Gonzalez showed off in White Dwarf a little while ago. I know I will not get to his insane level but I am giving it a go.

    Wonderful smooth paintjob man!

Anyone else working on their ghosts?

I had a massive conversion going with Kurdoss but I cant find a good arm 😅

I knocked these guys out last month. Now I have a bunch of Grimghast Reapers to slough through. 0715D1C4-4216-4C71-9D5A-8F1E145FE90F.jpeg.63cc7a9583e62a3c3c13c1f9f579b85c.jpeg

  7. I disagree with the idea that Death has too  many subfactions.  I think the direction is to go the other way and expand more into the subfactions. I have always contended that the narrative problem with Death was that it was too Nagash focused. There is no narrative tension, we need some other Death figures that can challenge him for control within the narrative, then you break off factions from there.  I think FEC is the classic example here. Bring back the Carrion King and have him lead a "grand crusade" against Nagash, then flesh out the FEC with a few good units.  Keep a group of  factions under Nagash, OBR, Nighthaunt and probable a general death faction similar to LoN and then break off the rest, with Vampires being the other faction to jump ship and rebel. Then, also moving forward any new death releases don't have to be tied to Nagash and you can open up some more design space.

  9. I painted this guy some time ago to serve as a Varghulf for my FEC. Now with the release of the big boy giants I might have to paint up one of the husky guys for my grand court. I really like that the new giants can go into any army, gives me some interest in an release I would have otherwise ignored entirely.

My Boneshaper and the last of my first 20 block Mortek Guard are done! (Minus a few tufts because they ran out)

Absolutely love the conversions, I am a huge fan of the Cawdor sculpts.  I have never wanted to do a boney boy army, but this makes one look tempting!!!!!

  11. I was browsing the web looking at painted figs as research for an upcoming project I am planning and it got me thinking about what kind of painter I want to be when I grow up (because apparently painting for 15 years is not enough time to get good).  There are so many talented people out there, but Louise Sugden's stuff just speaks to me. I love her use of bright colors and high contrast.

Darren Latham is another for me. His stuff is the epitome of GW's clean style in my mind.

Which miniature painters speak to you?
