Folks we are excited to announce the 2016 Bugeater GT! The sixth annual Bugeater will take place June 10th-12th at Millard West High School in Omaha, Nebraska. We are excited to offer the same quality that you have come to expect from the Bugeater, but there will certainly be changes taking place this year. Although we have both of the gyms to use for the tournament, as veterans know we have only actually utilized the space in one gym up until this point. We want to take advantage of that space, and some change in the wargaming community this past year, to grow and expand the number of game systems we’re offering to provide you with plenty of opportunities to come to the Bugeater and play the game you want to play. So far, we are offering the following events:

    1. Warhammer 40k
    2. Kings of War
    3. Warmachine/Hordes
    4. Age of Sigmar

    Age of Sigmar:

    • Two day, 6 round tournament
    • SDK List Construction system; details to be released soon

  8. Event Title: North Leeds 2nd Last Stand
    Event Author: Tronhammer NZ
    Calendar: Events UK
    Event Date: 06/26/2016 12:00 AM

The first North Leeds Last Stand went really well, so I thought we'd do another. This time I've tried to take on board the lessons from recent tournaments and try out my own comp pack combining what I feel are the best bits of SCGT comp and Clash comp.

    Game System:    Age of Sigmar
    Date:    Sunday 26th June 2016
    Location:    Shadwell Scout Hut
    Main Street
    Shadwell
    LEEDS
    LS17 8HH
    No. of Games:    3
Comp System:    North Leeds Last Stand's own comp (SCGT/Clash)
    Cost:    £15

This is a relaxed tournament designed for players wanting a fun day of AoS AND for those tournament regulars who like a competitive game. At the first NLLS we had several players who ended in the top 20 at SCGT including the winner - Rob Symes so a high standard of play, but equally we had the winner of 'best sports' at SCGT Joe Purcell so we are a VERY friendly, accommodating supportive bunch too. Even if you've never played in a tournament before you will find it a very welcoming atmosphere.

We will use our own comp pack which combines elements of SCGT with Clash Comp with a little bit of our own flavour to produce 3 interesting and challenging games in a day. I was not going to re-invent the wheel and do a ground-up total new Comp. So basically I have taken the SCGT pool system, and simplified some of the SCGT scenarios. Then scrapped the win/loss/draw scoring and hidden agendas and replaced it with the Clash Comp scoring system. I feel this has a good chance of addressing some of the problems I have with both of those systems, namely:
    1. I found that as I am a bear of little brain I kept forgetting the extra twiddly bits in the scenarios at SCGT (doing D3 mortal wounds on a 4+ if your near a ........). So KISS
    2. The same applied for Hidden Agendas/At all costs cards
    3. Many games at SCGT were over by turn 2 or 3 as there was nothing to be gained by competing to the bitter end.
    4. I hardly touched my sideboard at SCGT and I know many other players stuck to pretty much the same army all tournament. So I wanted to try to make it necessary for people to bring and have to use a varied army.

The complete 8 page comp pack with full details and scenarios is at https://www.dropbox.com/s/0gtbylop3qdu8br/North%20Leeds%202nd%20Last%20Stand%20v1.0.doc?dl=0 Please have a thorough read through it. It is currently v1.0 and is likely to have some changes as explained within it as Russ Veal and co start adjusting SCGT pool values, and new books come out from Games Workshop. Do let me know if you spot errors or have queries.

Lunch and refreshments are provided all day in the price. We have an agreement with the pub next door so you can buy beer etc. there and drink it at the venue.

This time you WILL need a painted army, and there will be a best painted trophy

You will also need to submit your list beforehand - deadline is June 19th.

There will be trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, Best in each faction, Wooden Spoon, Best painted, Best Sports and spot prizes each round.

There is plenty of parking at the venue.
The 7S bus from Leeds City Centre stops right outside the venue if you are using public transport.

    Timetable:
    9.00am Registration
    9.30am - 11.50am Game 1
    11.50am - 12.35pm Lunch
    12.35pm - 2.55pm Game 2
2.55pm - 3.15pm Tea break and Best painted competition
    3.15pm - 5.35pm Game 3
    5.50pm Awards

I have shortened the games by 10 mins, so each is 2hrs 20mins. The vast majority of players had finished well inside the time and with the simplified scenarios it should allow everyone to head ****** at a sensible time on a Sunday evening.

Entry is by payment of £15 to my Paypal account - paulrosann@aol.com Please pay using 'gift or friends and family' to keep costs down. And remember to include who you are paying for. There are 24 places available.

Feel free to let me know if I have missed any information off, or you need any clarification.

  10. Event Title: Northern Invasion 2016
    Event Author: Tronhammer NZ
    Calendar: Events UK
    Event Date: 07/16/2016 12:00 AM

If you won't come to the North Isles, we will bring the North Isles to you.

Northern Invasion 2016 is brought to you by Age of Sigmar Battle Reports (http://www.facebook.com/batrep) and Common Ground Games.

The event will be a 1 day open tournament with 3 games of AoS at the fantastic Common Ground Games in sunny Stirling. There is sponsorship confirmed by our friends and allies at The Army Painter, Kromlech , Afro Zombie and some Orkney Fayre has been provided by a number of North Isles companies.

Places are limited to 32, so get your names in to secure a spot!

    What's it all about?

Glad you asked. The event will be themed on the North Isles with some small characterful rules customising play just enough to make things different, with the addition of weather conditions and a free North-Isles terrain piece adding a twist that will make people think before selecting their usual list.

    The following prizes are confirmed:

Overall winner will be named Great Thane of the North Isles and will take ****** the fabled warpstone axe of Torin skullsplitter.

There will be a trophy for the best warlord in each of the Grand Alliances.

The best newcomer to AoS tournament play will win an award.

The most notable deed in game will be 'immortalised by the Bards' when our guest judge Guy Haley chooses his favourite.

The owner of the filthiest list will be required to wear the badge of shame throughout the event.

There will be 1st and 2nd placed awards for best painted armies and generals.

As if that weren't enough, there will be some local orkney fayre on offer too, an exclusive NI16 branded weather calculator/turn counter/objective marker (yes, a dice) and something for the spoonbearer to take ******.

Cost: afraid it isn't free folks :( owing to to volume of prizes, the event will cost £20. I know this is slightly more than the going rate but it all goes to prizes, venue and food.

Keen people can secure their places by gifting £20 at http://www.paypal.me/stuwest final payment date 2nd July 2016 but it would be appreciated sooner :). Please include a message with full name, which event you are paying for and whether you have played in an AoS tournament before.

All paid entrants will be entered into a raffle an one lucky soul will get their mitts on a gamers set from the Army Painter and there will be some goodies for other lucky folk from Afro Zombie just for turning up!

More info and pack to follow but at this stage I can confirm there will be some form of Clash/scgt comp with some additional rules as mentioned above , we'll see how other events go in the meantime. It is likely that summoning will be looked at and army selections will be taken from anything live on the app or in a battletome/grand alliance book. I would like to encourage fluff and would appreciate feedback on ideas such as formations being free if only one faction is chosen (just an idea) or at least that formations could only be taken if only one faction is taken. The main thing will be to make sure everyone enjoys themselves and we have some epic games!

Throw us your questions and look at the additional info on the facebook page events section.

    Army Submission

All army lists need to be submitted to firstandonly@yahoo.co.uk on or before July 10th

Army lists should be in the main body text of an email and in the format below. Name – Club – Alliance Number of Warscrolls x Warscroll name (models) – total

    Total Example list Russ Veal – Facehammer – Chaos 1 x Mighty Lord of Khorne (1) 6 1 x Aspiring Death Bringer (1) 5 6 x Blood Warriors (30) 36 4 x Skull Crushers (12) 32 6 x Blood Reavers (60) 18 3 x Skull Reapers (15) 42 3 x Wrath Mongers (15) 21 Total 150

Please note the above costs might not be correct at time of reading.

What do Players need to Bring?

A Fully Painted Army We think games of AoS look best when all models are fully painted and modeled to represent what they should on the battlefield.

    • All models used must be fully painted miniatures of the appropriate type for the troops they represent.

    • The minimum requirement is 3 colours in an appropriate scheme, with textured/painted bases. SCGT2016 Tournament Pack v1.1 Copyright DWR tournament group

    • Due to the fact there is a significant advantage to using incorrect base sizes models must be based on appropriate round/oval bases (please see below for a guideline on base sizes)

    • If your models are on square bases then this is OK as long as you have round bases or templates to blu tac/attach to your models to for the game. You will not lose paint marks for doing this, however you will not be able to win any painting awards.

    • You can pick up cheap MDF bases from Sarissa Precision or another retailer if you need some.

    • Models not painted or based WILL be removed as casualties by the tournament organizers and will be unable to take part in the tournament. You must play with a fully painted army

    • All unit options and command models must be shown on the models, for example if the models in a liberator unit have Sigmarite Hammers and a Grand Hammer you cannot use the rules for Sigmarite Swords and a Grand Blade.

    • Proxies are not allowed. “Alternative” models are fine, but for example using an Empire Griffin as a Terrorgheist is not. If you are not sure what constitutes a proxy then it is best to check it with us beforehand to avoid problems later. *Please note there is a bit of play in this (for example if you decide to put a character on the next size up this is fine, but you should never go down in size.) It is best to contact us if you have concerns.

As a general rule, if Games Workshop pack the model on that base, it should be minimum on that size.

    Gaming aids

    Players should bring the following

A set of 6 objective markers (50/60mm diameter max)
Dice and Tape Measure (combat gauges are encouraged!)
Wound markers and buff counters (optional but highly recommended!)
A set of “the Rules” or access to a PDF/the Warhammer app on a tablet/phone.
A copy of all warscroll’s being used or access to the Warhammer app (these are all free from GW so no excuse! – we recommend printing them for quick reference during a game)
A printed army list for your opponent in each game

    Awards

We will be using a Win/Loss/Draw method to determine the winner. Each SCGT Battleplan will tell you how to determine the winner for each game.

  16. Event Title: Realms At War: Legends – An AoS event
    Event Author: Tronhammer NZ
    Calendar: Events UK
    Event Date: 11/19/2016 12:00 AM to 11/20/2016 12:00 AM

EATMingsFoote are pleased to announce a two day, 40 player AoS event in the centre of Cambridge on 19 to 20 November.

This will not be a ‘typical’ tournament and it will be hobby orientated. There will be a competitive element, however if you are after a full on competitive tournament, this probably isn’t for you!

Over the two days, you will be immersed in an epic tale in which your general attempts to rise from an Aspiring champion to become a Legend of the Realms. Your struggle to achieve Legendary status will be played over six scenarios of varying size (skirmishes, standard battles and doubles). Temporary truces between the various Aspirants will be formed and broken and all the while, the twists of fate will lie heavy over the battlefields.

Will you be able to adapt to the rapidly changing threats? Do you trust your allies or can your objectives be better served with others? Can you raise an army capable of crushing your opponents? Which Aspirant will become the ‘Legend of the Realms’?

We are likely to use the SGCT army pools document for army selection however this will be confirmed at a later date.

Evening entertainment will be arranged on Saturday night and we strongly encourage everyone to join in. There may also be some smaller events on the Friday night.

Our motive for this event is to put on a super fun hobby-tastic weekend for the community. However, since this is our first event we felt it best to start small and then increase participant size in subsequent events. We therefore intend to allocate the first twenty tickets to our friends and clubmates; the remaining twenty tickets will made available to the public at a later date. Details on how to obtain public tickets will be provided soon.

Further details to follow shortly however if this interests you, please put the date in your diary and indicate below.
