If you don't bother with matched play restrictions (and just use points, for example), then you can use any of these. Stormcast one is probably the best.
-
Remember that Order doesn't mean "Good Guys". It's vaguer than that. It's more akin to "able and willing to build sustainable civilizations worth living in". The various Dark Elf things aren't nice, but thay aren't tearing down civilizations or corrupting the very earth just for the sake of it. Raiding, enslaving and rampant murder, sure. But you could, in theory, live in their society.
If people are expecting any points for these batallions, expect to be dissapointed. Will likely be like all other box-set batallions.

I might have to buy 2 of these and make an Eldritch Council army. The rats are cool, but I already bought one set of them... The price is ABSURD. Seriously.

Still loving this army man. Been a while since I saw it on Warseer. Love the princes from various kingdoms.
Are you going to use the Sister of Silence for anything in particular?

AoS release gap might have been planned. Drop GHB and the Season of War, then the releases dry up. Gives GW time to write suitable fluff for all 2017 releases. Speculation though. It's not like GW would have struggled to rebox some stuff and dump a book if they just have it lying around.

This isn't the thread for discussing nick-names and their appropriateness. If you would like to discuss this further, feel free to open a new thread on the subject. This thread is for rumours and relevant speculation. I've warned you guys once already.

Sigmarines can be condecending. No doubt about that. Just as ground marines can. It's mostly about context though. Used on this forum, I expect it to be a fun nickname for the Stormcast, rather than as a dismissal of their unique nature. Which is exactly how I use it here.
But this isn't the thread for debating whether or not Sigmarine, Ground Marines or any other epithat is offensive. Let's lay this low and keep talking about the rumours, eh?

Just set aside a ticket for me already. I'm all in.

While I agree on crossovers- arghh! Really?! Even here I can't escape from this dang "sigmarines" term! Ok, I now that you used it gently and I'm drastically overreacting but it really triggers me.
I can use Ground Marines if you prefer that
On the news/rumour section. I'm really interested in seeing what the narrative campaign they're running for AoS will look like. Will it be set at any particular point? Have unique battleplans? What factions? Will it be canon? SO MANY MYSTERIES.
I assume everyone has seen the Warhammer Live announcement, but I'll repost it anyways.

Cross overs are a big nono, IMO. Thankfully the AoS fiction is sufficiently established as being different from 40k that it's not likely. Mechanically similar, sure, but keep the space marines away from my sigmarines.

The next wave of stories is sounding amazing so far. I don't remember Grymn needing rescueing though. Last I remember was him in Ghyran, which went fairly well during the Season of War.

Now I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but I've just been looking through the new white dwarf and noticed some artwork on page 75. In the background I saw something I'd classify as new.
It could be nothing, but it's been a long time since I've seen any GW imagery that draws on something that doesn't have a model. Looks to be some sort of character on a disc with a tail.
The regular Tzeench lord on disc has a halberd and shield. Not new, unfortunately. Good catch though.

I hope BL doesn't can Josh for speaking so openly. BECAUSE THIS BOOKS SOUNDS AMAZING.

Not saying this isn't a set of great deals. They clearly are. I was just hoping for some of the lesser-loved factions to get some joy. Seems like a Start Collecting box + one of these equals a really solid force though. Variety, troops and great savings. It's pretty easy to start a new force these days.
(I just want a Fyreslayer bundle so I can start that army...)
-
Kinda dissapointed that neither Death nor Fyreslayers got anything. GW better give Death some new toys next year. And give the Fyreslayers... something. 1-year anniversary Start Collecting set maybe?

Stormcast are teh new poster boys, they get the new toys. It's just how things are going to be. Anyone who deals with 40k knows how it is
That looks like original art. Not seen it before, and I've seen it all (nearly). Love the "pope hat" on the wizard. The humonoids don't look like the Silver Tower cultists, they're much more mutated. So either new mortal infantry or new, less demonic infantry. These guys may be heroes as well, as they share a lot of design with the existing tzeench mage.

Point is that we got Black Friday sales last year, for the first time ever. So it's a possibility.
-
I need that flying-by-beard slayer team.
Looks like GW is packing this November though. Prospero and Bloodbowl is a pretty massive month. Will be interesting to see the half-year prospectives from GW.
-
They have recently done a huge change though. White Dwarf now reveals models about to be released, rather than already released (mostly). Big change from the weekly white dwarf warning we had for two years.
-
That's a packed december. Absurdly so. Not impossible, but december is a tough month. Anything released is likely to arrive only barely in time for christmas. I would have thought they'd spare this all for january when there's time and christmas giftcards to spend.
Blood Bowl is being released on black friday though, so that's nice.

99? That's a pretty solid price point. A bit costly, but nothing out of the realmst of possibility for most fans. And cheaper than Archaon!

Not sure we'd need a d100 system though. A 100 wound monster would be a beast!
Someone would just literally stack 5 Glottkins on top of each other.
-
Wound markers should come in D8, D12 and D20 varieties. D10 just doesn't cover the amount of monsters in play!
-
Value is likely to be high either way. All the boxed sets in AoS have had 30% or more additional value.
Let's just hope the Fyrelsayers SC box comes out early next year then. Even just a box of Vulkites, box of Auric and a Hero makes an excellent box. Every potential Fyreslayer player would buy that box.I'd buy 2!
