    Book 3 - Alareille

Focusing back on our first big narrative moment in Morathi, these are the events that occur during the initial breaching of the Ghyran gate, and Nurgle's powerplay as a 'the gate works both ways'. Alareille sees no other hope than to ask for help from her oldest ally - Teclis, and the LRL, to fight back against the Nurgle and Beastmen that are now carving through Ghyran.

As the book ends, we are at a stalemate. Even with the LRL, Alarielle is pushed further back into Ghyran and Nurgle's power is rapidly spreading.

An agreement is made between the Aelven Gods - and Tyrion sends a message to his brother to send aid, and solidifying their alliance - at the time in which the Deepkin and DoK have made an alliance of their own.

ELVEN CIVIL WAR BABY (setting up for our 3.0 Malerion as the deciding factor between the two, or a third pillar...?)

Armies - Sylvaneth, BoC, Lumineth, Nurgle.

At this point, I would expect our first battlebox of the year - with Beastmen vs Sylvaneth featuring Pestigors and a Pestigor hero matched against a Spite Revenant hero.

Nurgle will be the 'red headed stepchild' here, with what I'd expect to simply be rules concerning including Pestigors within your Maggotkin lists and changes to the existing rules to help tide them over.

I expect a Nurgle battletome and wider release to come later - possibly after 3.0 - and a victim of the Covid Calendar Pushback.

Just quotted a small part of your post. You were not kidding when you said it was huge 🤣

I was thinking Teclis for Book 3 but your Allarielle teory does have a point. Not sure if Lumineth and Sylvaneth would have a strong alliance since both are really too focused on their own stuff to trully ally to someone else.

Lumineth would burn everything down to seal away chaos and Sylvaneth arent exactly the best allies around, usually focusing on thier own kin over everything else. (maybe that new alliance type from GHB 2020? forgot the name, where 2 armies cooperate but arent really friends).

I think GW have plans for more Second Wave models like Slaneesh but lets see how bad Nurgle plague will be to hold production down. I think many armies will receive a second wave+ Tome on 2021 and that AoS 3.0 will be a 2022 thing.

One forum is not a representation of  the overall opinion of one miniature.

True, but this opinion is shared among many foruns.  Even on Lumineth community ones have a lot of proxies and conversions that according to the author thenselves were made because of dislike toward the model.  A Very common one is the lowering of the arms to exit the Y pose, Teclis headswaps and Sphinx replacements/swaps with the Mindstealer Sphix.

That said, i am not going to take this discussion further on.

Jesus just stop being a salty grognard and drop the silly confirmation bias

Not asking for anyone to agre with me, just stating an opinion. On this very same Thread a lot of people said would vote for Eltharion. Teclis was a very divisive models while Eltharion was generally well regarded by the community.

Results doesnt reflect that, wich is odd.

    xD

How GW had to put Teclis in there instead of Eltharion just to make people believe, that a lot of people find that model good XD.
I call it first: That "contester" is fake.

Was thinkink exactly the same. Not even on Lumineth only groups i see a lot of love for Teclis. Half the posts are "How do i convert...".

On the other hand a lot of the community voted Eltharion.

    Looks fishy.

This looks like the most promising sign for some sort of regular humans we've seen in a long time.

Sweet summer child, it is a Rumor engine, if it looks like something it is because it is not.  🤣

    This is probably Skaven.

Gobbapalooza.  It's 5 distinctly different wacky Grots yet they have the most boring abilities in the Gitz army possible.  Two of them are mages that can't cast Arcane Bolt or Mystic Shield.  One member in particular is complete garbage unless you expect to get a ton of mileage out of specifically Skragrott's ranged attack.  They attack separately despite not being heroes as they're 5 separate units.  Want to know the two abilities they all share?  It's Look Out, Sire and a 4+ and 5+ save for the first two respective battle rounds.  Wow.

What makes them particularly boring is that their Know-Wots have a 1/3 chance to just not even happen.  This is remedied by taking them as a Battalion, which also buffs the cast rolls on the pair of dunce mages by +1.  But the stupid mages can't learn any Lore of the Moonclans!  They can dispel, cast Endless Spells and cast their close-range gimmick spells, one of which is ignoring a potential Battleshock.  That's about it.  So it costs an additional 110pts to make a wacky ball of loony characters remotely entertaining.

And it is a shame. The models are Awesome. I actually bought into GG because my wife gave me Gobbapalooza as a gift out of the blue because she loved then.

Aelves are basically the space marines of fantasy. Storm cast failed to be as popular as elves. So they do a big campaign of elf setup.
I mean essentially they have 5 elf armies to setup into the story.
    Sylvaneth

    Daughters

    Lumineth

    Idoneth

    Malerion shadow elves.

So the big army release we know is coming aligns with this because Slaanesh who is the ultimate elf villain is getting a major model release and update in the next few months potentially. Surrounding this Aelf campaign.

We already had Morathi, Alarielle and Idoneth in the book 1 of the campaign. But Idoneth and Alarielle were not resolved at all. The hint on the warhammer article basically tells us to expect a lot more Alarielle and Teclis. So it is logical to conclude more Aelf love to come.

Well, to be fair, Slaneesh beeing freed has been pretty much the "elf plot" of AoS.

That said i dont think Slaneesh Realeased/Newborn is the whole deal with Broken Realms, but one of its threats. I belive Destruction will attack Order, Death will keep itself engaged against Archeon and we will still see the Elven forces react to the newborn/slaneesh release

    Broken Realms: The Green Suck

Goblin Vampire Sky Pirates descend on the mortal realms and completely derail the plot with their zany hijinks.

    Isnt that the Skaven role?

If there ever was a Grott/Skaven alliance of flying sky pirates, the Mortal Realms would be over.

After the revelations of Morathi which book do you think is most likely to be next in Broken Realms? Slaneesh seems most likely to me but they very well could wait a minute and release that after the next to show a passage of time.

I belive it will be one of the elven gods dealing with the Slaneesh crisis, followed by a destruction one that will bring a new threat to the mix.

I mean I can understand why people would be disappointed with the Lumineth not being High Elves and what not (though I don't really have a problem with the Lumineth), but I don't understand why Slaves to Darkness are being questioned by say "it's not fair they just got resculpts." From a lore perspective though it makes sense. Arachaon won, which is what caused the end times, and as such his culture survived. He didn't have to rebuild his forces from scratch or re-engineer the way his recruit worked, or even go as far to make a new race from scratch. He just said "Oh cool, there are humans (and apparently Elves, Dwarves, Ogres and what not)" once they fall to Chaos I will do what I always do with them.

TLDR: There was literally no reason to reimagine Chaos Warriors from a lore perspective or otherwise. This is also taking into account they are probably the single most iconic thing from Warhammer Fantasy and one of the most recognize fantasy concepts of all time. High Elves, Wood Elves, Dwarves, Lizardmen, etc. are not unique to the Warhammer universe and GW wants unique entities from both a recognition and legal stand point.

Oh it is nothing against Slaves to Darkness or such, it is just an example.

Chaos Warriors timeless classics and for one i love the fact that they received new modern sculpts.
