Missed opportunity to make some helmet-less face sculpts or at least unique helmet sculpts. I can generally field all these models from my existing collection. No female sculpt, no pet or dog model. I should at least hope that the Aether-khemist looks unique enough to differentiate him the current version.

Not going to lie, this feels like a bit of a letdown.

How are they going to make work with AOS rules?  The khemist is the hero I suppose?  Is the skyrigger (movement 12) really gonna be in the same unit as some arch company me  (movement 4)?

Thanks for the heads up on that, I’d given up on identifying it until you kind folks stepped in!

Also back in the first years of Age of Sigmar he had super good rules for a Verminus Clawpack list, but then we lost those rules in 2017.  Not sure if that's hurt his value as far as selling him or not..

Well, yeah. I don't think it's competitive, but could be fun. I currently am a kind of "first hit's free" kind of guy at our local GW. I play a lot of noobs so I think it's list that would show a lot of the different demographics of the game. I'm afraid that it may even be a bit too strong for that role, what with all those drones.....

You've got to get a sword of Judgement on that Verminlord, he's the perfect chassis.   I've been trying to come up with an Ulgu list out of Pestilens, Nurgle, or the GA with a battalion and a couple verminlord corruptors, one with the Sword of Judgement, and one with the Dimensional Blade (goes from 10 attacks at no rend to 10 attacks at 3 rend.  pretty good bump).

It says "increase damage characteristic of the WEAPON by 1" weapon implies the entire weapon for that model which in turn would mean that all attacks benefit from that damage increase since all attacks happen at the same time.

But hey what do I know, I'm no rules writer. Maybe this ability is just crappy massive nerf to the original but the wording used is pretty terrible either way. I'm not trying to powerplay here, I'm just showing that there is multiple ways to interpret this ability. Anyway, until faq comes, I'm going to play this ability assuming that it buffs all the attacks made by model but not as permanent effect, because if it is literally nothing more than +1 damage to the total, it is literally the worst allegiance ability in the history of aos period and I'd like to believe gw doesn't just shat on skyre just for the sake of it.

I definitely read it as being permanent.  Effects that end specify the time they end.  I doubt it was intended to be though and would anticipate a FAQ.  I think some people may be looking at the GHB 2017 language here, not GHB 2018

No it’s because of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) coming into force on 25th May. All EU citizens are protected by it and have to opt in to be contacted by companies.

As a side note, this American got emailed about that confirmation-so-we-can-continue-to-email-you thing as well; I suppose they’re in a position where they have to contact everyone, for not being able to reliably sort the eu from the non-eu citizens (although that said they should have my shipping address.. on the other hand they can never seem to manage to default my pricing to American dollars based on the IP address).

or, I suppose the resposibility could flow to EU companies regardless of the citizenship of their customers.. I guess I have not seen any kind of notice like that from Dell or whatever, despite the likelihood that their customer base includes some Europeans...  (in which case it may not be an issue for gw before long, brexit and all that).

    Does seem that way.

I'm surprised at GW pushing ahead with Darkoath in their bid to desperately copyright everything. Fantasy Barbarians, whilst a bit more niche than Medieval Knights and Standard Fantasy Dwarf, aren't exactly uncommon. I'm sure they'll put a spin on it (Skin Wolves?), but it's unexpected. That being said, I'm more excited for them than I would be Chaos Fantasy Marines.

Moonclan should be great and would line up with the squig-looking mouth from the rumour.

I have some doubt about the Darkoath as well, it doesn’t seem like the kind of thing that would fit in line with what they’ve been doing in new armies.  I suppose the other possibility is they borrowed all the Herald models from future projects, not necessarily from future armies, and the warqueen is from a new specialist/boxed game, like a new Warhammer quest (much like the Darkoth chieftain..)

  8. So the heralds for order and chaos are parts of two new armies/battletombs from AOS (lord ordinator in the new Stormcast and Knight of Shrouds for Nighthaunt); wonder if they borrowed models from upcoming armies for that rather than them being purpose-designed... and if so, does that mean moonclan/fungoid grots and norse barbarians in the near future...

While Sylvaneth aren’t specifically elves I wouldn’t say it’s unfair in linking them. Half their range were formerly part of an elf faction, their god has deep elvish ties and they can ally with elf factions.

    Oh snap, Deep Elves confirmed!

Well, I was talking about the "new" AoS aelfs, wanderers and all others are old models

Well, your just talking about DoK then?  I'm not sure we can make a blanket assumption that everyone elf is going to come with a god based on just one release, and technically their god is Khaine and Morathi is sort of secretly usurping him.  (sylvaneth aren't elves other that tree revnents have maybe the barest hint of elf memories, and as I understand from the lore Alarielle doesn't particularly care for elves anymore)

Dont having Teclis will not make me to not buy this models, I like them a lot and it's the first army I will buy without star collecting packs and I'm sure I will buy all the units in both options. Said that, I just love Alarielle, and I had Wood Elves on Fantasy 15 years ago but a friend started Sylvaneth buying Drycha and Alarielle first (no battlelines, no nothing...) so I dont want more sylvaneth and was hoping to have a great model with the idoneth as Teclis is his mentor.... seems I'll have to wait one year to the angelical Aelfs to have that huge model.

Someone said Teclis and Tyrion will go as a same miniature, I hope they dont but if its done I hope they could go on idoneth and Angelical ones. So the idoneth is the only aelf faction without father now

Wanderers and swifthawk agents don’t really have a father.

Nothing about abilities stacking in the new rules of one, However I've got a theory now that we could still see that in there under the "warscroll update" section that was listed in the table of contents that nobody is sure what is.  It's only a couple pages I think but if they want to maybe handle it on an ability by ability basis (only nurfing the ones that seems really overpowered when stacked) they could just have them listed on that like "Aether Kemist - Aetheric Augmentation - This ability no longer stacks with itself.  Skaven Packmaster - Herded Into The Fray - This ability no longer stacks with itself" etc.

It is exactly what we needed: a goretide nerf. Good job gw, keep going...

Arguably if you have Korghos in the Goretide couldn't you get Aqshy's Bane twice and do two pile in and attacks in your hero phase?  I mean, Korghos is still a/the "mighty lord of khorne"

This thread is getting a little bit moany,  and not particularly rumoury.

The rule that's causing the issue is the one below but, as it's on Khul's warscroll, it surely wouldn't apply if you didn't take him in your army.

The beauty of AoS is that you don't need books and rules from all over the place. If someone has the Bloodbound book but hasn't downloaded the Khul scroll they wouldn't know about this bolt-on rule.

GW setting a precedent of scrolls which force you to play other scrolls in different ways would get very messy indeed.

Granted, it's not 100% clear, however. If you'd like to continue the discussion further, could someone please open a thread in the chaos section of the forum.

    Thanks.

I don't know.  Summoning spells exist even if you don't have the scrolls they appear in in your army.
