I'd love to see some AOS source nooks. Iirc whfb have a few with the liver series and witch hunters handbooks (released no too long ago) and 40k had the imperial guard infantryman's primer

I really hope not. I rather 2 more dawnbringers over redoing battletomes twice in an edition. It's fine when it's a one time thing for a battletome that just doesn't work. But just because you have a few months left in an edition is terrible.

That link made me wish they'd make a official AOS siege mode and fortification. And a new AOS mighty empires especially if it was both a path to glory "map" and it's own mini game.

Once I get some actual paint of my terrain and not just white primer I'll post some pics. I was coming to a close with troops just had one squad of mortek left and the wife bought me the Praetorian spearhead. So now I'm back to square one. I'll be just over 6k in obr once that's done though. And I'm looking for another crawler as time permits

Please. They're such a thematic objective for aos. I'd love a box for my personal collection. I didn't start collecting terrain until I bought my house. Although some of the old "whfb" terrain is also on my wishlist.

I doubt it. Even if all we get is ushoran and the sbg box they haven't previewed any of the other mortarchs aors

Two reasons. First they make it feel more like a my dudes army. I don't wanna play with named sub faction x led by this storyline general. I like using my own army that has its own lore. And 2 it feels bad when your 30/40 points under. You can use those last few points so let me give a few small buffs to my favorite units. Obviously there's a competitive meta with the best lists and they always have the best answers. But it feels great when that 10 point filler item turns the game around for you

I think seasons of war could have been a better generals handbook if he didn't get greedy. If they would of made the matched play less sill and more in line with the current generals handbook and said this is the current season. Then given us the typical lore of a campaign book with something for narrative players it would of been sweet. Instead they chose to give us a generals handbook at the same time for competitive.

FS in my opinion suffer the most from the this was one unit we are going to develope into an army. Like how many different flavors of berserk dwarves can you realistically make. Sure obr came from morghast "barely" box and nh came from the souls box. But theyre themes that can easily be expanded apon.

I personally dislike stormcast as well and it's part of the reason I was so resistant to AOS as first as well and the joke that was 1ed rules. But dominion was 3rd editions launch box similar to leviathan for 10e. Thunderstrike is the newer true scale stormcast. Almost like the primaris. The old 1st and 2nd stormcast are not thunderstrike. The rumor is the 1st editions stormcast are going to get upgraded to the new thunderstrike. The RTS realms of ruined showed off one of the old units getting upgraded to thunderstrike.

I doubt it. This was all from dominion. I doubt theyll copy and paste the stormcast side across too editions even if the wave 1 getting thunderstrike wasn't a rumor

Don't get me wrong I think an official combat patrol mode would be great for aos in general. I just wish gw would of announced the first 2 at once to get an actual feel for how valuable these are going to be to start an army. I know the last few combat patrols not counting the nids were terrible value for the more enfranchised of us which probably everyone on this forum is.

I understand how combat patrol works. There's still no definitive answer if spearhead is the AOS combat patrol or if people are just wishlisting. And I'd still like to see how they stack up points/cost wise as they're still the entry level box.

Yea but theyre so new to begin with. I thought the vanguards would at least survive 4th with a new "starter" box coming out in the eventual 5th edition. This is a name change which is somewhat significant rather than just fixing the bad vanguards. It's too early to tell what the points values are going to be. I know vanguards tried to hit 750

What's wrong with keeping the vanguards for the same reason. I did vanguard leagues at my store to try and bring in new players. My wife actually really likes it to play over 2k but she's the hobbyist. The vanguards were as balanced as small games are going to be

I get it I was just being more specific. I rather not see obr move into more guns. As for constructs I can get behind that. They currently have 2 constructs in the stalkers and harvesters. Everything else is a typical fantasy unit in bone(I'm leaving out morghasts because they're more of nagash's secret police than a true obr unit). Now we know lore wise that liege morteks are canon and should of been the 3rd ed foot hero over the slightly different mortisan. I'd also like to see a single unit banner bearer like other armies have that could have a bone tithe ability similar to bok blood tithe but just for buffs no summoning. And I'm going to be the contrarian and say I'd still prefer crossbows to bows. It fits the Greco Roman theme well.

I doubt we'll see obr chariots solely because it's lore that katakros hates chariots because he died in his mortal life when his failed. And while the archer looks cool I rather see them follow the Roman theme and have crossbows (well arcuballista) just because it's something different. I was sorta hoping that one re that's the too spears or something would be a obr ranged unit of some type.
