Required may be overstating it, depending on what kind of player you are.
You can buy the models and make your own rules for them, if you're that kind of player.

Unfortunately the ramp up on the books required to play is a consistent GW trend.

The crazy realization is that there's also Tyrion part left for later.

how do you think the new releases will affect Lumineth?
It'll give us an injection of the needed diversity. I could see a new tome shortly after BR:
Teclis, similar to how DoK will receive it.
I'm sure there will be options to run blademasters, the question is when are we going to see these models. Likely with the next instalment of Broken Realms, with Slaanesh Mortals yet to be release we could be waiting for a few months.
Until then enjoy your stay. -
Loads of new miniatures incoming. I'd have liked to see more of them, as opposed to only their silhouettes.

Seems the next Broken Realms will be a must-buy...
Fingers crossed for Eltharion acting as agent of karma and smiting Arkhan where it hurts.

This might be a very hot take, but could the possible alternative sculpt for the Lord Regent perhaps be Aenarion?
It'd be a major spoiler for the broken realms and any story event. The soul of Aenarion would also recognize the Lumineth as true inheritors of the high elves, seems a rather big implication. Another thought is that the beast feels rather inadequate for the greatest Warhammer elf that ever lived. Considering how much Teclis dedicated himself in making the armour of Eltharion and his new body form. I feel nothing short of a new Dragon or Phoenix is going to fit for the reborn Aenarion.

I'd like to see Broken Realms: Teclis announced, the search for the Aenarion soul would be a thrill for me.

I am far more impressed with the sculpts once I have them in hand as opposed to seeing them in photos
Yeah, the angles and zoomed in photos tend to give a different perspective. It's a different story once you put them on the table and see them from a gaming distance.

Probably not many will hate on this
Depends on how many assembly pieces it needs.
Regent looks nice, interesting symbol on his shield. Can't wait to put the blade of leaping gold back into action. Hopefully there are two or more units still to be shown on Saturday.

It is honestly kinda sad how some people (mostly salty gorgnards) seem hellbent on bashing the LRL every chance they get.
I think it's sadder how two sides are unable or unwilling to sit down and have a cultural exchange of ideas with each other, this drama has been dragging on since the first reveals.

The answer, my fellow elves, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind.

Thinking back from all the artworks it seems they really wanted to push the Alarith aspect of the range..
Yeah, Alarith seem to be the flagship of the elements at the moment. The disciples of the stone temple are also likely the most fitting for direct engagements or perhaps the most eager, I'm drawing a certain level of analogy with other settings, while other elements would prefer other roles in the warfare scheme. Warfare is an angle they've been presented, however it's good to be aware it's only a part of their story.

We did just get the Stonemage... which is similar? But he doesn't fly...
He/she floats in the artwork, however should we base on the miniature, they're wonderful at carefully stacking rocks on one another. Probably undisputed Jenga champs.

Dare to recommend the most prolific non Rick Priestley WFB and 40k background writer of all time, and the guy who set the template for Black Library's house style?

One guy once told me these books are awful...
On average, they are very mediocre. I've enjoyed Tyrion and Teclis Omnibus (W. King) but cannot say the same for the rest, as noted, they tend to be action focused with lesser emphasis on the character growth and drama. Personally rather enjoyed the works of William King and would dare to recommend him.

There's Age of Sigmar Wiki and I'm sure people over here are civilized enough to politely answer the questions you might have. 🐯

Kind of difficult to give a short summary of him. Uber-Tyrion maybe?
All the great elven heroes, princes and kings lived in the shadow of Aenarion. Tyrion was the closest to him.
1 hour ago, PiotrW said:And what's Aenarion's beef with Morathi? She still loves him, but he tried to kill her as soon as he saw her...
If he was capable of observing the course of the events after his death, I imagine he'd have quite a lot.
1 hour ago, PiotrW said:So, what *is* wrong with the Idoneth? I gather they have some sort of "damaged souls" problem?
To most of them their souls wither and in general cannot act as other elves, some are prone to hedonistic madness.

I'm tempted to look for some GS tutorials on making those backpacks. Would be neat to have them for Warcray warband.
2021 doesn't seem more friendly than 2020. I've hoped they'd lift a few limitations, so I can at least drive to my friends and have a game with them.

Half / half.
I have a slight dislike to Alarith Stoneguard. The centre of the miniature should be lowered than it is, but the oversized helmet moves it upwards. On the upside, it was the model from Direchasm that helped to put things into more correct perspective. GW photos tend to be very up close, while realistically you'll be seeing them from a larger distance. It helps a bit.
Mage girl. I think it was a Spanish designer who corrected the design in 3 minutes after seeing one. No one argued that his design wasn't better. It's "fine" as it is, but after seeing the alternative design, it'll always feel like a missed opportunity.
Stone King. -_-''?
Teclis. I guess he needs to be a centrepiece now, *fine*.
The rest is fine - okey, to me Eltharion is the crown jewel of the release.
Endless spells - rather uninspiring.
Waiting for Swordmasters v2 and wind mages for the moment. Wonder if we're going to see fox spirits.

It seems to be one of the ultimate goals. The elemental mandala is also made in that way, and it also matches with the overall theme of Hysh. It’s a bit of my interpretation though, basically from pages 22 and 23 in the BT.
The following are my thoughts/theory:
The elemental Temples are a creative system aimed to overcome the traits of imbalance that all (GW) elves posses (selfishness, narcissism etc.). If we assume that elements and their spirit exist in a sort of harmonious relations (this doesn't exclude conflict or implies sugary relations), an elven disciple that synchronizes or bonds with the elemental spirit, indirectly taps and becomes entangled into this web. It's through this, the balance of the land and Lumineth is achieved.
I divided the mandala into pyramid shaped difficulty brackets, the lower levels are the most common and easiest of entries, the higher we go, the more difficult it is, perhaps an elf that manages to synchronize with the Zenith spirit can be seen more powerful, however as explained in the previous sentences, in this model no element has inherent power over the other.
There's the Teclian ladder to consider, but I don't have the model to properly integrate it into my theory. Is in the current time, the ladder even a valid method, was it reformed or simply abandoned with the age of Reinvention? The lore would imply that the Lumineth made the transition to elemental bonding.- 2

Again there are certain traits related to each element, and reaching a balance is beneficial.
In what way are you referring to the balance?

I mainly mentioned the Tyrionic part because if we get a full Temple, looking how Broken Realms worked, it’s also not unreasonable that we’d get faction rules for them, like Har Kuron for example. In the same way they have done it with Alarith and Ymetrica.
I feel that's overthinking matters, the Temples are only part of the defining culture of the LRL and are relatively recent appearance. Some nations are likely associated with a particular element, however, nations such as Ymetrica, with a particular element being their defining aspect, are likely to be in the minority. The Temple formation can exist as the generic battalion, without stepping on the established rules.
47 minutes ago, LuminethMage said:The red sattle and ouside of the cloak could also hint at that. It could be Iliatha (white, orange, red), but otherwise none of the current nations feature red in a prominent form.
I don't think that will happen as Ymetrica seems to be the flagship of the LRL, should the range be larger and the faction more established I'd be more inclined to your theory.

Goes without saying, I do enjoy a good exchange of ideas.

As people mentioned the rider armour looks much more like Vanari armour. That’s true. And the decoration on the armour of the beast, could symbolize a sun, which again points at Vanari or even something on the Tyrionic side.
Aren't they the "generic" units, as in, you'll likely to find various symbology on their armour? I have a Dawnrider in my drawer, and he has the Phoenix motive on his torso.

Also I am foolishly hoping that the cloud riders are not heroes but a unit
Why not both, a hero and a unit?
I'll still gladly take the unit of Swordmasters v2.

Seems ranged units are the concerned factor. I don't find archers to be problematic, however, I also don't generally min - max my compositions. The mounted archers might be more mild in comparison to the damage output of the foot archers, trading the number of shoots (for the number of bodies) for mobility and something extra. I hope we're not going to see teleporting battle line 'roos with archers backing them as the cost-effective winner of the expansion.
