  1. Kids don't care about WYSIWYG, new releases and edition changes - just give them models and they'll play them as whatever they like. I got into Warhammer as a teen but all of my middle school friends who got into the hobby earlier than me played models as whatever they liked so long as it loosely fit the theme - Abaddon was loosely Abaddon and more like, whatever chaos character was needed that day, Tyranid monsters were pretty much interchangeable so long as the base size fit, Mephiston could be Calgar one game and a Farseer the next depending on who was borrowing your mini... Give kids some Gors, and they'll be marauders, zombies, particularly mutated CoS steelhelms... For young uns', miniatures are miniatures and so always cool, that's what great about newer players.
  2. Do you think they removed BS because they didn't sell well, because they're a blatant racial stereotype subfaction, or because both ?
  3. For me the saddest loss are the Warcry bands. BOC and Splittaz ? There was an entire thread about how the writing was on the wall for them. They had had no updates. Their participation in the lore was as token background extras. THW warned us. Most people (including myself, look at my posts in the BOC squatting thread) decided to huff hopium, burry our heads in the sand and say they're totally getting updates guys ! GW has plans for them ! Don't listen to Rob, he's lying to generate clout ! Sacrosanct... they were chunkcasts but they had some great kits like the Tauralon. But the Warcry bands ? They did so much to flesh out AoS by showing us how Chaos cultures developped in each realm. They were all flavourful minis. Yes their balance was iffy and they were artificially bloating the STD army list but each and every one of them were characterful. Now what will you do ? Proxy them as other minis ? Viable option. Dismantle your models to get cool kitbash material ? Viable option. Play them in TOW ? Viable option. Be mad and post insults at GW on TGA about it ? Very uncool, you shouldn't do that.
  4. People are angry and tbf GW has given them good reasons for that. But just remember : anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering, etc etc...
  5. Tbf GW has a backup for BoC with is TOW. Same for Bonesplitters. You're just not willing to use the backup because you don't care about TOW is that it ? You don't wanna proxy them as Darkoath or something ?
  6. It's up to GW and both game's community to make that happen.
  7. This is the exact same mindset the guy who burned his Dark Elf army because they weren’t a TOW core faction must have had.
  8. It's a design philosophy that isn't restricted to fantasy. They're doing the same thing with HH and 40k. There was a lot of outrage when GW annouced all the HH plastic vehicles (contemptors, leviathans, fancy tanks) were only gonna be Legends (especially from CSM players). They're separating 40k and HH, AoS and TOW, AoS and WHU, 40k and Necromunda (there's Necromunda stuff you should be able to play in normal 40k...), BB and Epic doing their own things in the corner. We gotta accept range overlap between games (Demons, Custodes) is not the order of the day at GW. As for "AoS vs TOW", I hope it doesn't devolve into an "us vs them" situation. They're different design teams in different divisions of GW, different styles of minis, looks like they're not competing. But if it does, I already have my side.
  9. Because acting out of anger is a show of immaturity and lack of self control. Your army is getting cut from the game, which is a sad news. Can you do anything about it ? No, because you have no control over GW. Can you control how to respond to it ? Yes, you can control to not be aggressive, angry, and throw curse words on forums like some of you have done in this thread, because it 1/does nothing and 2/shows how little self control you have.
  10. GSG always get more than the normal faction treatment each edition. They're the spoiled privileged kids of Destruction (as these littke brats should), I wouldn't worry about the future of GSG. Except Spiderfang because the army is fundamentaly a gross racial stereotype.
  11. Feels like they tried to get Beastmen back into the game with the endless spells, finally getting an official herdstone model, the fact they get the first Chaos faction in AoS2 to get a BT... but for some reason or another it didn't stick and now GW is transferring them in TOW with all the old dated classic sculpts. Which is a shame but at the same time I think it wasn't a position I would envy - to continue pushing a faction or accept your loss and remove them ? I hope at least we get some undivided Beastmen in STD next edition just like what CSM got. Bonesplitters, looks like they took a look and said "can we redo savage orcs without it being a gross racial stereotype like the current kits ?" and apparently to GW the answer was no.
  12. Well, it's confirmed guys. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2024/04/04/whats-leaving-the-warhammer-age-of-sigmar-range/ Beastmen have fallen. Millions must be sacrificed to the herdstone.
  13. To all of you who told me GW had no plans for BOC and Bonesplittaz in AoS4 and that they were getting the axe when I was saying they "probably had plans for a refresh", you were right. I was too high on hopium. RIP Beastlord (2023-2024). But holy ******, I was not expecting this level of fat trimming. The entire 2nd edition SCE releases gone ? All the old Warcry bands ? 2 whole armies ? That's very extreme. Some very recent sculpts are going down including centerpiece models.
  14. I wouldn't mind them being redesigned with more cloaks, fur, and thunderstrike armour. Maybe even get rid of their tiny pea shooter crossbow pistol things.
  15. I’ll add that SCE are indispensable as the beginner designed faction. If SCE weren’t there, there wouldn’t be a good guy beginner friendly faction new players can start with, and AoS would have the same problems as WFB had - trouble to get new players in because of lack of beginner friendliness.
  16. I’d be down for a Judicator 1:1 refresh because they’d be different from Vigilors - Vigilors are the rangers, Judicators the main bowline.
  17. We get it, you don't like SCE, this is only the Xth post about it this week and we're only Wednesday...
  18. Tinfoil hat time : FS have a ton of heroes but few units, which could be a problem for the new regiment system because every hero will have the same units in his regiment. Unless : Big FS heroes can take other heroes in their regiment just like Khorne can with Gorechosen (like imagine a runefather can bring runesons in his regiment) New FS units are on the waaaaaay !!! 🔥🌋🐉
  19. AoS community manager said you're more than welcome to proxy the old swords as hammers if you feel like it.
  20. What I meant is there are no swords in the new kit. You can only build the minis with hammers. I'm gonna edit the OG message to clarify that.
  21. Some info on the new Liberators from the comment section of the reveal FB post : Sword option is gone, only hammers now. The new sprues have no swords on them. You either have the unit with hammer and shield or dual wielding hammers, 1/5 Libs can take a grandhammer
  22. The Hallowed Knights colour scheme suits them so much more than the bling gold of Hammers of Sigmar. Look at these chads. Lifting sigmarite hammers that must weight kilos like it's nothing. Really puts the "warhammer" into Warhammer.
  23. Maybe they'll steal some more from Conquest. The fact that heroic traits can be given to any hero now makes me think there's gonna be a point cost to it, because if they're still free, giving multiple heroes traits could be very unbalanced.
  24. The regiments you build around a hero that unlocks some units is exactly the same system as the list building in Conquest with the heroes and their warbands. I like it a lot ! (If you’re copying other wargames, at least copy the ones with well designed rules !) And the auxiliary units are an interesting spin on list building. We’ll have to see if taking them is interesting. Also you missed (no he didn't) the part of reinforcing - if you wanna reinforce your units you must reinforce ALL the regiment - and there’s no limits on reinforcing units but you can’t double reinforce anymore. Bit sad about subfactions changing but at least we’re keeping artefacts, hero traits, spell and prayer lores unlike what 40k got with “enhancements”…
  25. Collecting CoS, from my experience they would make a bad starter faction. The minis have a lot of intricate details that make them hard to paint quickly. And they're a numerous army too. LRL have all of these problems plus being fragile because of their graceful elf aerial poses. Which is a problem Nighthaunt had too when they were in the starter sets, but at least NH are very easy to paint.
