    - No more book battle tactics. Generic and GA ones
    - No more shooting into combat
    - changes to unleash hell
    - generic counter charge ability
    - new way of choosing Spells when list building
    - weapon ranges gone
    - If you take the double you cannot score BT that round
    - Index edition

I do wonder how much that double turn penalty matters?

Maybe they are trying to make it an all or nothing move where if you take the double turn you better destroy the other player or you will lose on points??????

What does this mean? Like, seriously, balance? Flavour? Gameplay? I've very recently checked 40k rules (I haven't played this before) and everything looks rather elegant. Where's the mess?

Really 10ed 40k feels like they stole a huge chunk of AoS and I sort of hope GW does it again lol. I like 10ed a lot.

40k cut a lot of everything from the game to make a lot simpler, quicker, and easier to play. Some fans how found it to have lost a lot of its personalty in their factions.

Game play wise it was a bit of a mix bag. Seems like they had different teams working on different books so some factions were just insane and took 5 to 6 nurfs to get them in line with other factions. Other factions were trash and got much needed buffs. Overall I have been pretty happy with GW and balance.

Really hope they get rid of bravery checks and use the OC system in 40k.......... Tired of losing half my army to those checks lol.

I agree with absolutley all of that.  It's just that every rumor we have says to worry and so I am. I mean idk if Singapore Warhound had the indexes but even he gave a sad react to my question of beasts and we KNOW he's got access to something to take potato pics of.

Ya all rumors point to a hard separation between Old World and AoS. Really seems like the first big sign either way is if Dwarfs stays in Cities or not.

And with the Dwarfs release for Old World and 4.0 right there we should start getting answers soonish.

This is something I have also recently been feeling pretty strongly. I have had a lot of games that looked pretty one-sided at the end of battle round 2, but turned out to be quite close after all 5 rounds.

I have also not had a game that was decided by a double turn in at least half a year. The possibility of a double turn is very impactful, for sure. It changes the dynamic on wanting to go first or second, how you deploy, how deeply you commit your units etc. In that way, even if both players take the double turn whenever they are able, it is still strategically interesting, because it influences everything from list building to tactical gameplay. But I find that a double turn happening rarely decides games by itself.

I think it also depends on the army and players. I play LRL and not getting spells off then getting hit by a double turn can pretty much table me top of turn 2. My friends and I also play pretty aggressive and we usually bet everything on getting a double turn lol.

I do wonder how bad GW will punish the double turn? Will it be just a slap on the wrist? Or is this GW way of killing it without having to remove it from the game lol???

  5. As expected the game will steal a lot from 40k 10ed............. which is funny since 10ed stole a lot from AoS lol.

    • Sticking all heroes 3 inches instead of putting them into the units should be interesting.
    • Seems like the spell phase will also be spread out just like everyone other game as well. Sounds like it will go 40k with everything having 1 special rule.
    • Going with the mission deck approach which I think is a huge upgrade.
    • Small combat patrol games which is nice way to teach people how to play
    • Complete rework just like 40k. Prepared for crazy imbalance lol!

Btw, Im finally going to collect some kroot! Seems like I'll be able to aford it all, and even buy the starter box 2 times with some good old luck.

Still uncertain about how competitive the kroot detach is tho.

I will also be trying to pick up two boxes tonight so good luck o7

As for the kroot detach I think you will still need to run at least some Tau to handle the tanks and other big things, but they do have some play.

I still worry about how long the time is between "removed" and "reimagined" (looking at you Kurnothi!) And resent the way GW squatted high elves and couldn't be bothered to tell us "but don't worry we've got something in the pipeline to satisfy your high elf needs!"

That said whitefangs tertiary BoC react does lift my mood a little.

Throw in the last big rumor about how each game division fight with each other over profits and how GW wants to make sure that no faction can be used with two different games.

Will be interesting to see what happens with Dwarfs in both Cities and ToW since they both use the same units. My guess they are pulled from AoS when 4.0 hits, but who knows lol!

Didnt think much of it at the time but im starting to believe the cursed city heroes are the future looks of CoS. So showing us the duardin and aelf factions. If CoS and Dawnbringers was really that much delayed it could be true.

We got the necromancer style heroes, the ogor, the witch hunter style models. Is this telling us we are going to see Qulathis style kind of the stag wanderers back and these steampunkish duardin with a less metal look.

Edit: also love how grimdark CoS became with some of the models.

Lol oh wow that is pretty much the look for all the major parts of the faction, but it was also a warning that we all missed.

No CoS dwarfs or no elves lol..................................................

Interesting to see another preview this soon. We still don't know if they are going to do another preview in the spring now that Warhammer fest has been cancelled. Could we be seeing book 6 next weekend and then a full 4th edition reveal at Adepticon?

I think the goose will be a hafling thing for blood bowl. We will probably see the dwarf range for the old world and custodes and/or Orks for 40k.

It really does depend on whether they have an event planned for April or May.

My money is also on the 4th edition reveal at Adepticon. Tau was the big thing last time and they have revealed all the units and the rumors for the other 40k factions are just new single models. I guess maybe the Imperial Agents book/box rumors?

They will have to start pushing 4th soon and they need a big event for it so it seems like the best option?

It's turn to two waves of Vespids now

    Then one wave of Gue'vesa

Finaly  Silent People for 40k in T'au Empire.

The fact that they have never done humans in Tau is just so lazy and wierd. Like they have all the pieces lol.

As for the Vespids the rumors were that they were getting a killteam so that's better then nothing!!

The Bret exiles seem very popular, I wonder if it's because they offer so much room to be creative and put your own spin on things.

It is a very different list from the other two Bret options and has a good amount of unique units that are good. Not really sure if the TK book does the same as well

Also find it very suspicious that the new Cities stuff are all good proxies for the exiles units.............

I'm a Dark Elf player for Cities. You and I have been on borrowed time since the first book. I would not plan to have your army for Cities beyond a year.

Granted, we each could be rolled into another faction or new book elsewhere.

    Time will tell.

Old World sort of showed us the future of each race.

Normal dwarfs will get pulled and stay in TOW as a major faction. Sucks, but at least Chaos Dwarfs are coming so that is 3 factions of Dwarfs in AoS

Dark Elves will most likely be getting their own faction in AoS. Lore wise they are already set up to break away from Cities and are not getting any support in TOW

  13. I am gonna go with as long as the model is not another space marine its a good model. Sure they are a little boring, but its still a cool model that did not really need any changes.

Also lets not forget this thing exists. Easily top pick for worse and somehow most boring model I have seen in a long time................ what is that belt feeding on a missile gun lol!!

  14. Think that The Old World sort of gave us a pretty good road map of the future of both itself and AoS. We pretty much can guess what the future holds for both games with what factions will get removed or added.

Crazy to think that we know what is coming for both games for the next couple of years. Unless GW decides to change their mind which I hope is the case!

Maybe they are not so imminent then.

They will most likely do a repeat of FEC with the Tau when they release half the faction early. Like other people have said the Kroot box could be out sometime February, but the official release could be deep into March.

Pretty smart to split up everything so more people can afford those crazy prices.

Surprised again to see orks, custodes and taus having pints changed at all. I thought it was GW's strategy to not touch the rules for inminent releases?

Can't speak for orks or custodes, but the Tau changes are close to a non factor in most list.

At this point it wouldn't shock me if they had put unreleased units into the battlescroll and would rather wait than remove them.

In both AoS and 40k lol?  With all the delays I could totally see this being the case.

The fact that we will never know the ****** up makes me sad.

Metawatch out but no battlescroll in sight

And finally, we know you’re all keen to get a proper update from the next Battlescroll – from what we’ve heard it’s coming soon – potentially at some point next month – as the Warhammer Age of Sigmar team are working hard on final adjustments based on what they saw at LVO.

That is crazy. Like they will be weeks behind on the update that is already on the late side. Wonder what happened? And its not just here, but 40k as well!!!

  18. I just don't see GW moving away from their no army being used in different games approach. Even with all the success they will still just remove those faction and most likely just replace them with Russian and China.

Hope I am wrong, but can see the same thing with HH and 40k. And they are still pulling units out of those games for the other.........

After a quick skim (so, hot take, pinch of salt and all that) they look a really developed product, some of them (Daemons) are in fact longer in sheer number of pages than army lists in Forces of Fantasy/Ravening Hordes. It surely doesn't feel like a "legended" situation -of course, only time will tell.

My guess would be that time is the most important factor. They are useable now, but could see them phase out or become total trash when 2.0 rolls around, but that should take years.

GW really don't want players to use one army for two games and they are letting us know lol.

  20. I am not saying I have the PDFs/EBUPs, but I'm not saying I don't. Also not saying people can message me for a link for the five books (no Legacy armies tho) or just message me about how cool the kroot stuff are and Tau now having melee

............ if there is anything wrong with this message just let me know so I can delete it!!!

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but does anyone have any recommendations for kitbashing a bretonnian Hippogryph? Especially now that we know its a 50mm base.

Ive got a spare victrix african war elephant since im turning one into elephant artillery for my border prince bombard. Would an elephant with wings work for my hippogryph (elephogryph)? Or would that look a bit too goofy?

Highland miniatures on etsy is your answer for anything Bretonna. The Gallia line is what you are looking for. Its pretty much a 1 for 1 copy of most of the old Bretonna units.

Its all resin, but the price and quality are really really good. Pretty much got one of everything from the line and have no regrets.

I kinda want the dragon to be the animal of the Heaven temple. A seahorse or a kelpie would be nicer for the Water temple. But at the same time, it must look humanoid like the Mountain or Wind spirit... that's difficult to imagine.

100% and I find to hard to pick which would work the best!

Whatever animal they pick has to:

    • be somewhat humanoid since it will be a unit itself (based off the last 2 we got)
    • not clash with the bulls and foxes we got so far
    • not step on Deepkin model range (unless GW forgot about them lol, then its a seahorse),
    • be a good representation of "embodying the momentum of rushing water in combat as they leap, twist, sway, and strike with fluid fury"

That why I land on dragon or regular horse since fills those checkbox mostly, but I also know I am not creative enough to come up with other river creature ideas.................... its been a while since I watched River Monsters lol.

Also just looking up the water dragons from Spirited Away and The Priory of the Orange Tree and yaaaaaa I can see it being that.
