Except winterleaf did not apply to named Characters if I remember corectly. So it's also a small improvement.

It applied to everything that didn’t have a premade subfaction. None of our named characters are bound to a subfaction so everyone had it.

    - Everdusk: Reduce our range but give exploding 6's to hit to melee weapons. The reduced range is basically what we are used to alredy, so it can be worked with. This one, like the Reaping, will depend on how easy is to get new woods/overgrowth around the field and how much we end focusing on melee units as well.

This one is definitely the weakest option. Major nerf to the winterleaf version that is unconditional. It’s not horrible, but requires too much positioning. Not only do they have to be wholly within 6 inches of a wyldwood to get it now, it reduces ALL of our ability ranges? That’s pretty trash. I can’t see any reason why someone would take that over a 6+ ward. Sure the ward requires that you don’t charge, but our stuff is slow af anyways, and we don’t have a 1-drop that lets us bring alarielle and anything other than warsong, branchwraith/wych, or arch revenant so we aren’t going first anyways

Maybe I'm blind, but where are you seeing 5w per model?

I wish they did more damage and had less life (to benefit their ASF rule), but I guess we have to wait for a full warscroll and points cost first.

It’s on the article. I’m fine with 5 wounds per model, they are like Vanguard Palladors

  4. They are definitely meant to be reinforced due to them all having 2 inch range. If you position them properly (which at such a high movement distance you should be able to), you can easily double their damage output. With two units of 6, I wouldn’t be too scared of anything since they all get strike-first. I’m shocked they didnt make it strike-first within a certain distance of wyldwoods.

I will also note that the gods in Elden ring are not comparable to the gods in age of Sigmar in powerful level.

radagon and marika are not that powerful compare to say Sigmar who can unleash world-destroying lightning bolts

I would argue that in this universe there is still a sort of order of power of each of them in AOS though. Sigmar is still not stronger than Dracothion and Teclis couldn’t properly make life unlike the all of the other aelven deities of the game. (Not that Teclis isn’t strong)

  7. I have my doubts about the spiterider leaks. For example, we’ve already seen a picture of the Alarielle warscroll, so it’s not like the warscrolls aren’t already out there. Second, why not include the stats of the seekers or whatever they are called? Third, no specification on what kinds of models it can resurrect. In the past our revival only did d3 for our unconditional battleline units, and 1 for other units. D3 kurnoth hunters would have never gone through playtesting and not been considered too op considering alarielle can’t even summon 3 without losing the ability for the rest of the game.

When will we get more solid proof? Why did the pictures stop coming in?

Ooof. Yeah, this may really hurt Sylvaneth.

Not really. If someone was 3 inches away from a wyldwood back then we couldn't anyways due to the 9 inches away from enemy unit rule. It seems more like they just wanted to make sure Alarielle was able to teleport at all. Also, moving your army within 3 inches of a Wyldwood is a horrible idea due to path blocking and the fact that now durthu is charging into you with an extra attack AND teleporting away directly afterwards.

You can certainly try something like that.  Probably some sort of list like this:

    Allegiance: Sylvaneth
    - Glade: Harvestboon
    - Grand Strategy:
    - Triumphs:
    Arch-Revenant (105)
    - General
    - Command Trait: Seek New Fruit
    - Artefact: The Silent Sickle
    Branchwraith (95)
    Warsong Revenant (275)
    5 x Tree-Revenants (80)
    5 x Tree-Revenants (80)
    20 x Dryads (190)
    - Reinforced x 1
6 x Kurnoth Hunters with Kurnoth Scythes (430)
    - Reinforced x 1
3 x Kurnoth Hunters with Kurnoth Greatswords (225)
3 x Kurnoth Hunters with Kurnoth Greatswords (225)
3 x Kurnoth Hunters with Kurnoth Greatbows (225)
    Umbral Spellportal (70)

    Total: 2000 / 2000
    Reinforced Units: 2 / 4
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 122
    Drops: 10

Is this the best list?  Nope.  I certainly wouldn't look to run it competitively.  However, if your goal is to run a bunch of hunters and get the most out of them, it is probably where I would start.  The big question for me would be more which hero should be the general, whether you want a revenant or a treelord ancient, whether you want the block of 20 dryads, or just more tree revenants instead.  The next question is whether or not to keep the melee focus on the kurnoths, or whether additional units of hunters should be swapped for more greatbows.  Finally, battalions are open - want to run a battle regiment?  This can be a 3 drop list.  Warlord + hunters?  Its an available option.  Etc.

Definitely a good start though. It’s so hard to cram so many kurnoths into a list since they aren’t battleline the only thing I see being a problem is that the Greatbows aren’t worth taking if they aren’t reinforced, but they also aren’t worth taking without warsong revenant to support them. I think removing one greatsword and putting the points to the greatbow would be worth it.

I honestly think the best thing to do would be to focus on keeping warsong as a setup and support hero in this list. Because if warsong focuses on wyldwood placement + treesong/spiteswarm hive instead of spellportal + swarm of spites, it will further the kurnoth hunters’ damage output.

Additionally, I think spiteswarm hive in this list would benefit much more than spellportal, as spellportal just makes swarm of spites a little bit better, but since this is a kurnoth build, spiteswarm hive gives all of the melee ones +3 to normal move and charge (or to save) and the bows +1 to save. Just an important thing to consider.

Lastly, the subfaction. Harvestboon is great, don’t get me wrong. However, there’s no reason not to just keep the kurnoth hunters near the arch revenant anyways which gives them reroll hit rolls of 1  as well. Heartwood or winterleaf would be much better in this scenario. In heartwood, they can reroll ALL failed hit rolls and you can target an enemy unit with a command ability to treesong them without a spell. Winterleaf on the other hand gives one of the units a double attack, all units in the army exploding 6s AND the greatbows mortals on 6s through branch blizzard.

Reavers are great at the moment...

The problem that needed to be addressed is that 99% of all lists are just eels. The issue is that there is no Isharann worth running over an akhelian general. This hero isn’t going to change anything, the best list is still just eels.

  11. I like that the Cinderfall Gaming rumours stated ossiarch was getting a battletome in January but instead just got a white dwarf update. I’m glad the rumours are wrong, that means we can expect the fyreslayers and idk tomes in february now, and whatever comes next in April, which tbh will probably be nighthaunt because the cinderfall rumours said it would be on halloween, so it cant be halloween.

Some interesting ideas. I like the Forest Spirits ambush ability.

A few things seem too overpowered to me:

    • +1 to casting and a 6+ ward to all noble spirits (I think pick one or the other, and even then both are strong)
    • Free Spirits - +1 to hit and +1 to wound (again only pick one)
    • Ironbark +1 wounds - This makes Dryads disgustingly efficient as tarpits. Between all their existing save stacking and the +1 you propose in here thanks to Forest Folk, 20 wounds for 95 points is just crazy good. Like 30 Dryads would be 10 more wounds than a unit of Pink Horrors for only 35 points more with a 4+ ignore rend save instead of horrors 6+

In other cases I don't have a great sense of whether they are balanced or not, and/or I don't feel strongly.

I'm unsure if a 6+ ward is necessarily too overpowered. Many factions have faction-wide wards, whereas this is only on the wizards. But if I had to choose one or the other, the 6+ ward would be fine I guess. The idea is that they will probably get rid of throne of vines or nerf it at some point, so a +1 to all wizards near a wyldwood would be nice for the wizards that are encouraged not to stay in one place while the ward is for the two noble spirits (treelords and tree-revenants) who are not wizards.

Free spirits, probably the +1 to hit if I had to pick one since it follows the pattern of what we currently have available with all the rerolls.

The idea is if the +1 to save near wyldwoods were to happen, GW would probably just remove the ability from their warscroll to avoid stacking tbh. I just didn't really want to meddle too much with warscrolls. I would even consider a point nerf on dryads if I were looking into the warscrolls.

The most important thing in my opinion is for everything in the faction to at least do something near wyldwoods.

Thank you for the response by the way :) I will certainly start devising an errata with any feedback you and others have. The main purpose with this is that I'm tired of us not having any new 3.0 rules at all.

  14. Since we will be waiting on new rules for likely quite some time due to GW failing to realize that Warsong has all lore of the deepwood, thinking they just gave it to Alarielle despite her already having it since June 2021, and not realizing that the Broken Realms Kragnos book errata still has the clause to remove Navigate Realmroots (which is likely the reason it still isn't in the app), I figured I would brainstorm some ideas for a 3.0 battletome that we could test in open play to keep our lives interesting.

Let me know how I did, did I fix our faction?

If there is anything you feel should just remain the same as it did in 2.0, let me know as well.

  15. I wonder if it’s possible that the teased nighthaunt with the book is a procession leader.  We have pretty much all the known procession leaders except for Cairnking Angrimm (but we were also only told he is the same rank as Reikenor in the army and that he exists)

  16. I’m a bit confused. Somehow a different rumour went out about Ossiarch battletome being january and fyreslayers and deepkin being april. Theres no way this is true right? Like why would we not have heard anything about ossiarch if it was supposed to come out 3 months before the announced fyre+deepkin box?

They will learn that the fans HATE both factions and remove their support.

I don’t think that’s necessarily the case here. They KNOW that idoneth is infamous for being eels only every time. It’s clear this box is targeted toward idoneth players knowing they likely don’t have namarti thralls. I think it’s safe to assume whatever the battletome following gives them, it will be marketed toward a healthier playstyle.
