  1. It took me a minute to come around to the new generation of Stormcast (and to some extent, the more toned-down feel of a lot of new army releases), but this warband looks excellent. I might pick it up alongside the Hunters of Huanchi, but between Tyranids and Seraphon, this Summer is going to hurt a lot in the wallet...
  2. Hhhrrruuummm, the warmbloods of this... what was it, Toy Foundry? are most unwise to have abandoned the Great Plan and with it another Seraphon preview. The stars are aligned, yet the fools of Nottingham do not see them, for their minds are as clouded as the skies above them. Oh well, good thing I love Tyranids!!!
  3. They did put both a Kâhl and a Einhyr Champion in the Votann army set for what it's worth. Very surprised to hear that the Boneshaper is not just a Boneshaper! Always exciting with new stuff from Whitefang! I hope when they say that there's not much more to say it still means that we are due a few more reveals!
  4. I'm a little underwhelmed by the new Dante, but nice to another piece of the rumor puzzle fall into place. I know people are split on Valrak, but I put a lot of stock into what he's been saying about 10th. Interesting that he went out of his way to talk about Cities of Sigmar. I understand the concern that he could be mixing them up with Seraphon (he clearly doesn't care about the game). I don't necessarily think a launch box for Cities is completely out of the question. Leagues of Votann were announced on April 1st and came out around September. This could be a similar timeframe, though of course their army box was revealed much closer to release. Maybe it's a Sisters of Battle type situation where the launch box comes out significantly earlier than the rest of the range. But I guess the most incongruous thing about such an announcement is that a lot of us are expecting a Seraphon army box as well. Announcing two army boxes of Age of Sigmar seems like a stretch. Are we still expecting a Seraphon reveal next Monday? Or will it be saved for Adepticon?
  5. I never cared about Chaos Dwarfs before joining TGA and for that reason my mind went to you guys when the trailer dropped today. Congratulations to all followers of Hashut. You are the real Slann Starmasters of the world, your unwavering faith and continued remembrance bringing that which was lost back into the real... Neither Chaos Dwarfs, Bretonnia, or Tomb Kings were never my favorites, but as someone who grew up on Lizardmen and Tyranids, I too feel like I have to pinch myself as I see my beloved childhood armies reborn in "HD". It's a good time to be a Warhammer fan and I can't wait for all of us to get the toys we most desire, whether that be alien space bug horrors, chivalrous knights, or industrious dwarves of the infernal persuasion. All is well - so says the Great Plan.
  6. Hopefully Khul and friends get a rerelease - even if those tend to be pretty expensive. But the Warriors and Reavers are the same as their individual releases? Was just wondering if they were monopose and then later redone as MPPK, like Liberators and Retributors.
  7. @Kaleb Daark Ooh, there was a multipart Khorgoroth? On the topic of Khorne (always nice to hear some gush about their favorites), can you tell me if the stuff from the AoS launch box/Start Collecting contains unique Blood Warrior/Bloodreaver models? I don't get to play enough these days, so at this point I feel more like a collector than anything. And I really hate when great sculpts disappear, like the content from Dark Imperium og Shadowspear. So was wondering if I should pick up the Goreblade Warband before its too late...
  8. I think the lack of details on the "remaining Seraphon" damns this rumor. If the alleged leaker knows about a sizeable wave of Destruction coming toward the end of the edition, then surely they could specify what's being shown off in less than two weeks time. But of course, someone making things up has no desire to do that - would be pretty easy to disqualify their nonsense then. @DinoJon Good point on the "pick 4" thing! I can't believe I forgot about that, even after bringing it up just a few pages back. I guess I'm stilling coming around to the idea that Saurus Knights really are getting updated. I think the "newness" is just logged incorrectly in my brain, because I so vividly remember walking into a hobby store at age 11 and seeing them on the shelves. At the time it seemed like such an incredible upgrade and value proposition (all plastic and in a box of eight) to me. And as an oblivious kid I had no idea they were getting updated as part of the Lustria campaign. I just walked into a store one day and *bam* there they were. With all that said I fully agree with the sentiment that the models have not stood the test of time and fact looked rather derpy even back then. Especially the Cold Ones who looked so much more dopey than the Dark Elf variants the succeeded them. I would absolutely welcome an updated version, but I guess I will have to see it before it believe it. Also, I'm a little late to the whole centerpiece debate, but as a Tyranid player I can definitely appreciate the bittersweetness of briefly receiving one the biggest plastic models (Trygon/Mawloc), only to see it overshadowed by an endless wave of humongous releases (Dreadknight, Riptide, Wraithknight, Knight-Knight, G/Morkanaut). I'm glad the model inflation syndrome in 40K has worn off or at least stabilized a bit. With Age of Sigmar, however, it felt like a game that wanted to emphasize these big models right out of the gate and with that in mind I really do think that Seraphon "deserves" a giant dinosaur to inspire awe and dread in their enemies on the battlefield. We will see soon enough! Exciting times ahead!
  9. Beyond the growing likelihood of getting new Kroxs and Cold Ones, I'm also holding out hope for some big centerpiece model. Almost every model release of this size has had one or more named characters, right? I know Kroak would have fit that bill perfectly, but he's already out in the wild. I would love a big thunderlizard plastered with skinks, lead by some Tehenhauin (Tehenhau-two?) Could be we get another reveal Monday after this one and maybe the rest shown off at Adepticon, including army box.
  10. Interesting perspective with the Oldhammer vision for Lizardmen. The new Spawn of Chotec definitely feels like a throwback to earlier days. I would love to see new Cold One riders. I can't even imagine how incredible they would look, but as stated above, I'm not holding my breath. So far the only truly new thing we've seen are the Raptadons. I have to assume there'll be some more additions so it's not just 1-for-1 remakes. Kroxigors will probably be revamped. Would love to see a version with the cestus weapons from Total War. But other than that, what kind of new options could we be looking at?
  11. I think there's a chance the spear is simply an alternative loadout for the new Saurus Warriors. Feathers could be for a new Skink (Feather) Priest, a resin model that inexplicably survived the End Times while its three counterparts didn't. Club does look a bit spindly for Kroxigors, but we don't know the exact scale.
  12. I don't think we'll be getting new Saurus Knights. We've seen the Salamander, the Astrolith bearer, and I absolutely expect us to get some kind of massive dinosaur centerpiece. Going by Whitefang's "Now pick 4" post, I think it comes down to Kroxigors or Knights. Kroxigors are resin, there's the rumor engine (could be Sunblood/Gor-Rok, but doubt it), and it just makes sense to me that they would want to show one from each 'caste' in this new release. Saurus Knights have not stood the age of time, not at all. I have a soft spot for them because I remember them being such a massive upgrade over the previous riders. And like the Saurus Temple Guard, I admire how closely they made them fit with the preexisting Saurus Warriors. Now that those are going away the Knights and Guard are going to look even more out of place, but alas. I just don't think we'll see two cavalry units in the same wave. What I can totally see, however, is a Saurus Scar-Veteran on Cold One being released. The current model is part resin and so probably not long for this world. This could be a first peak at what a future Knight revamp might look like, while satisfying the previously given hint we got from the Ogor hunter. It would also fill the Seraphon's quota of the "lord-on-mount" requirement that every new army seems to have: Stormcast, Nighthaunt, Ossiarchs, Lumineth, Gravelords, Kruleboyz, and so on.
  13. The Great Plan delivers once again! This one was quite the surprise, but a welcome one. I do like the old resin version. I briefly considered if the Starseer would just be a build option for new Slann, but the fact that they are giving each kit their due is awesome. Skink in the first picture kind of looks like it's on the can. Interestingly, I misinterpreted Whitefang's "now pick 4" post. Clearly, Games Workshop has more in store for us than I had dared hope. Come, scryers of the stars, let us meditate on this...
  14. I could see Skaven being the poster boy villains of 4th edition, though I wonder if they are (superficially) too similar to Kruleboyz to assume that role - you know, sadistic, backstabbing, miserable beings. If 4th edition was to turn the attention from the savagery of Ghur and the Era of the Beast to something more shadowy or artificial in nature, a horde of grotesque rat monstrosities and eccentric Warpstone artillery pieces might be the perfect transition. Naturally, as a follower of the Great Plan the thought makes me shudder with contempt and saurian rage. Even so, after eons of feeding the same old plastic rat models to Great Sotek it might be nice with an updated menu... Variety is the spice of life, after all.
  15. Very happy with this reveal. I think the laser pointer reference is kind of odd and would have liked the headpiece to be either a bit bigger or not there at all. I feel like the Skinks have been rather hit-and-miss so far, some really strange faces among the Raptadon riders, but overall they're growing on me. I think I actually love the idea of having a multitude of different Skink subspecies across the Seraphon range, almost like Squigs. As other interpreters of the Great Plan have suggested, I wonder if we will see another reveal in two weeks time!
  16. Looking at the updated roadmap - I mean, scrying the stars and stuff - it seems reasonable to me that Seraphon is the first Order army of the year to receive an update. I'm thinking if it was the Kharadron or Cities, those would have been featured in the preview video. Or the other way around, what is clearly Seraphon units would not have been teased if they weren't landing within a couple of months. Do the wise speculants of the TGA community agree?
  17. Just came in to salute King Brodd and congratulate him on getting a model! Here's hoping that saurian quiver is a sign of (scaly) things to come...
  18. Been pondering The Great Plan as of late and so am a little out of the rumor loop. Do we know if non-Chaos warbands are coming to WarCry? I was a bit disappointed to see yet more stinky/burly/horny guys facing off in the new edition. But with it having a season-esque schedule, similar to Kill Team, surely we will see something from the other factions? And are there are any juicy rumors about major Age of Sigmar releases, aside from the Slaves to Darkness leaks?
  19. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2022/02/28/coyl-is-coming-to-claim-harrowdeep-and-will-fight-anyone-with-his-borrowed-arm/ New Frankensteinian Warband. I've heard some great ideas for a non-magic/non-Nagash Death faction and this sounds pretty neat!
  20. Roadmap, hooray! Can we let up on the soupspiracy for a bit now? Also, for what it's worth, a great chunk of 8th edition WH40k codex covers were reused. I agree it's not super exciting, but there's precedent.
  21. The frustration with no new battletomes makes perfect sense to me, though I take the avalanche of battleboxes to mean that GW is willing to work their way quickly through army updates, (hopefully) leaving armies in a better place. I know people in the RPG publishing industry who are looking at major delays in book shipments from China. Maybe something similar is happening here?
  22. Rules are temporary, but models are forever! Well, I guess model ranges can get squatted, lore rewritten, and game systems reinvented, so no one is really safe. I love seeing new stuff like cavalry and war machines because it makes wider implications about the world that my models inhabit. The Mortek Crawler tells me that there's probably a gazillion other weird and interesting constructs made out of magi-bone. The gunships of the Kharadrons tell me a lot about not only how they wage war, but travel across the aether as well. I think their menagerie of exotic star animals has converted many a Stormcast naysayer. One of the best things about Kruleboyz as well. The ever-expanding bestiary of Age of Sigmar has been one of the most consistently delightful aspects of the game/world for me. So give me more sea animals, beastclaws, orruk cavalry, mini-magmadroths, and so on! And once we wrap up the Era of the Beast, I'd love to see a change to 'the Time of the Machine', with interesting artillery pieces and war machines for all. And what better time to introduce to the world the mechanical splendor of Chaos Dwarfs?
  23. I would prefer that they first 'cover the bases', updating the core of shared units between Skaven clans while teasing the different directions the range can/will move in the future. Similarly to Gravelords, really. I'm more partial to the Skryre/Moulder clans, but I'd hate to see an update were all the weird gizmo-techno-rats look great but the "humble" dates back to a previous millennia. Incidentally, GW updating the basic Ork, Chaos Space Marine, Eldar Guardian, and Necron Warrior within just a few years of each other brings me great joy. Troops/battleline updates and additions is where it's at!
  24. Not sure what you mean by 'worked on'. I don't believe they revealed any of the new Genestealer Cults stuff until after Tooth and Claw had come out. To be clear, I don't think we're getting more FS, just trying to recount how things have been in the past (as that was the question).
