Can definitely drop one of the tide casters for something else. Possibly a second king
  2. @Sonnenspeer you wouldn’t with that list specifically but you could drop a shark and get a tide caster or lotann or a different isharaan hero. I definitely noticed that the lack of rituals didn’t really effect my games so far. They probably would’ve helped into the big waagh list I faced but outside of that, I’m sure they’ll be something I miss when I end up playing against lumineth or dragons or something lol
  3. Yes the eels would be battleline. I just threw a list together to show how you would do it. In futhan you could also get the blood thirsty Shiver boost and get those exploding 6’s. It is definitely the very definition of glass cannon but could work well into some lists. On most of my games the king is what carried me so far. Hoping that once I get more variety in the army build I’d see more units carrying the weight instead of the king.
  4. So I was thinking about how to maximize a charge turn 2, like make it as efficient as possible between bonuses to charging and running so you don’t fail the charge. This would only be on one unit but if you put a battlemage from cities of sigmar in make him be from ghur you have a second wizard who is only casting wild form with a reroll because we’re in ghur and can get a unit of morsaar effectively a +3 to run and a +4 to charge this could also be a unit of sharks but then it’s +3/+3 instead of the better bonus for the guard. This could also be used in ironrach turn one if you found a gap In your opponent’s lines and they left something open to be taken advantage of. What do you guys think? It would also work on a unit of thralls if you wanted to try and get a big unit into combat.

  6. Yea…. I went 2-1 yesterday with what people say is a terrible model and list build with 3 (Leviadon). I watched another deepkin player yesterday kill archaon with thralls…. The book is fine does it suck there aren’t a lot of rerolls and what not yea, definitely but it’s still good. Just quit with the negativity, find the positives in the book and there are alot of them.
  7. @Liquidsteel you are correct. And that is tricky and gonna be a big gotcha moment in a tournament. So excited to frustrate my opponent with that.
  8. I can definitely pull in some aetherwings but I give up the triumph for them. Definitely have to mess with the list and see if they would help. im thinking that the triple turtle list is fine for a 1 day event but it won’t perform well in a GT so definitely going to be revisiting it for casual games and outside of that find another list that I can practice with.
  9. Hey all. So I was looking at the rituals in the book and the one that effects low tide would that also effect units shooting via unleash hell or the units that shoot outside of the shooting phase? Since it says units can’t be the target of a shooting attack unless each model is within 12 inches. I’m leaning towards no but since unleash hell is a shooting attack I think it does work there too. edit: never mind. I was misreading unleash hell and got overly excited haha.
  10. So back from the tournament with the triple turtle nautilar list. I don’t have a full turn by turn of every game but I can give you an over view of all my games. My list was : akhelian king made to be the blender 3 akhelian leviadons one with reverberating carapace 1 akhelian allopex with harpoon launcher game 1 was against nurgle fly spam. I took first turn moved up a little bit to try and get some shots off and then my opponent basically trapped me in my deployment zone for the rest of the game and took 4 turns to grind out a major victory leaving me at zero points for the game. Solid player with what was most likely one of the toughest counters to my list since I couldn’t leverage my damage or my 2+ saves against all the mortals game 2 was against clan moulder skaven list same as the list from my first game with this list last night. Mission was first blood and I tabled him turn 3. Lost my allopex turn 1 and then proceeded to blender his army for 2 turns and he scooped when he failed to do any damage to me. game 3: big waagh warclans with no maw krusha’s. List consisted of 1 unit of pigs 3 squads of 6 boltboyz. One unit of ardboyz one unit of 3 goregruntas 2 breakbosses on troggs and 2 squads of 10 savage orruks with spears. Played tectonic interference. He rolled crazy hot on those bolt boyz and did 8 mortal wounds every turn they shot my turtles and by the end of the game I had my akhelian king and my allopex left and I squeezed out the win because my king went murder bus on him and slaughtered everything he touched. overall feeling for the army is it has some potential. I was also playing with only 1915 points compared to my opponent’s. I was enjoying the army though definitely felt good about my choices in the games except against nurgle fly spam as I have no real idea how the turtle list fights that.
  11. @Lithdaydora you are right. Well shoot. Guess I’ll have to remember that for today at this tournament. Here’s hoping the list with a tide caster plays just as well. And yea my opponent knew his list was not optimized, he is an under dog player and likes to play with the not meta pick kind of lists. i was stressing a little bit when I failed to really kill anything until we got to combats. The mvp of the game though were the turtles and those scythed fin attacks, they’re so good
  12. After playing this first game. I feel I’ve found my love for the army, I have only ever played against idoneth a total of 3 times since the book first released in 1st edition. And while I didn’t face the typical meta choices that most likely would have destroyed this list, there is something to be said for -3 rend on damage 3 and 4 attacks. And the highlight of this game for me was the king getting off 21 damage was bummed I didn’t get to swing with the rest of his profile as I had declared I was going to attack 2 of the 3 hellpits in that combat phase but it tickled my heart to see him go ham and wipe out a hellpit no issues.
  13. So mission was the vice. My list consisted of: akhelian king built to be the blender king 1 akhelian allopex 3 akhelian leviadons My opponent’s list was 3x master moulder 1 was the general 1 unit of 6 rat ogres with the rabid trait giant rats, I don’t remember how many. 3 hellpit abominations they all got the bonus to wounds trait. 2x3 stormfiends i took turn one and did little to nothing since we were spread so far apart I picked monstrous take over for my battle tactic, scoring 4 points for the turn. my opponent chose ferocious advance with his 3 hellpits. He moved forward with his army, holding 2 objectives and completing his battle tactic for 5 points. for the roll off I took the turn and chose broken ranks for my battle tactic but I failed to kill 1 squad of giant rats, my dice rolls were awful for my shooting for most of the game to be honest. Failing my battle tactic I scored 2 points for holding objectives his turn 2 I don’t remember his battle tactic but he moved forward some more and after a little shooting from his units he charge his unit of rat ogres into my king and my allopex, I popped the kings ability for strike first and wiped the rat ogres before they got to do anything and he rolled to bring them back with the moulder ability and successfully brought them back. He scored his battle tactic and held 2 objectives for 4 points Score is 6-7 at this point. Round 3 roll off I win the roll off and take first turn. I proceed to move everything forward far enough that I can make as many charges as possible, I choose bring it down for my battle tactic. I charge in my akhelian king and 1 leviadon everything else fails to make it into combat, the leviadon uses the nautilar monstrous rampage and I get stomped on by a hellpit abomination on my king, he is brought down to 1 wound between round 2 shooting from the stormfiends and being stomped. I immediately choose for him to activate forgetting the deepmare impact hits and finding that I am within 3 inches of 3 units because my opponent kept all of his hellpits base to base with eachother. My king proceeds to do 21 damage to one hellpit abomination killing it outright, the hellpit explodes and takes my kings final wound. My leviadon piles in and proceeds to wipe a second hellpit from all of his attacks and takes 3 wounds in return between the 1st hellpit exploding and the 3rd one slapping me. Scoring my battle tactic holding 2 objectives I score my 5points for killing a monster opponents turn 3 he chooses bring it down for his battle tactic and fails to complete the tactic and doing any damage to my leviadons would prove to be very difficult for my opponent. battle round 4 roll off gives me the turn again, I believe that skaven never getting a double turn at this point in the game hurt my opponent very much. I choose the battle tactic for 2 units to be wholly within your opponent’s territory and score it with 2 turtles for 3 points I have a hold of the center objective and use my leviadon currently in combat to retreat and charge back into the 3rd and final hellpit once I retreated from the hellpit I used my 3rd leviadon to shoot it and my allopex to shoot it as well and successfully killed it only for it to come back to life with 5 wounds remaining due to its ability. A second leviadon charges a unit of giant rats and kills them with a stomp, and also drawing in the revived unit of rat ogres into combat. My leviadon that retreated charged the revived hellpit and wiped it out in the combat phase and it did not get up or trigger another ability. Opponent’s turn 4 he charges my allopex and kills it quickly with 3 stormfiends. And fails his battle tactic of bring it down. round 5 my opponent finally gets the double turn and this is where his dice go blazing hot. He chooses conquer for his battle tactic and then proceeds to make 4 different charges all with 9+ on each roll for his unit of storm fiends a master moulder and 2 remaining giant rats that I neglected to kill and his general charged another of my leviadons. Unfortunately for him my dice were raging hot as well. I chose to stomp his general and used the nautilar monstrous action on my center leviadon He chooses his stormfiends to fight first and proceeds to bring the leviadon they’re in combat with to 4 wounds from 12. I kill his general and then his second master moulder proceeds to do 2 more damage to my seriously wounded leviadon and I proceed to kill the giant rats with the harpoon off the leviadon and kill 2 stormfiends from the rest of the attacks off the leviadon. conclusion of the game shows a successful first outing for me and my nautilar turtle list. Final score was 17 to 13. Had a ton of fun with the game. Was not overly impressed with the allopex but I think that’s due to not being in a bigger unit and my dice being fridged when it came to rolls for his shots and his combats. I’m going to swap the allopex for a tidecaster so I have access to rituals. I’m sorry the pics are not in turn order but I do hope you enjoy the few pics I have.
  14. First game with deepkin took the nautilar 3 turtle list. Bat rep to follow. Game was against clan moulder skaven.
  15. Thralls are the same points as clanrats and do way more damage, and benefit from a ton of buffs. Might not be the same unit size in that thralls are 10’s and clanrats are 20 but I’ll pay 390 points for 30 thralls that will kill stuff anyway over 60 clanrats that won’t kill a thing without a ton of support being poured into them.
  16. @umpac you would fight first on your second charge in turn 3. Since asf is active the entire round. I’m excited to get my army to the table. Just waiting on the rest of it to get built by the local commission guy. Soon very soon lol
  17. So you guys think dom-hain thrall spam is a gimmick? I think there’s some play there. I’m going to be giving it a try probably in may.
  18. Or they’ll be sub par like slaanesh was in their latest book and nobody will care. It’ll be interesting to see for sure
  19. @DocKeule the thrall master does buff multiple thrall units. Just gotta be wholly within 12 inches of the thrall master
  20. @DocKeule so I’m not sure how you wouldn’t make your charge with eels in ironrach you would set them to run and charge turn one if you want them to get up the board, auto run them 6 so you’re 20 inches up the board and then have a base +2 to charge from flood tide and the musician with a reroll. Now as soon as your opponent realizes what you can do of course he’s going to be deployed way back but if he has to deploy forward for some reason you reap the reward. If you want to be sneaky about it take a battle mage from cities and get another +2 to run and charge off the spell. So now those have a base +4 to charge and can reroll themselves because of the champion.
  21. I think namarti heavy lists sound fun but you sacrifice as you guys have said a lot of mobility and need to maybe lose the king as well which isn’t easy to do since he’s amazing. When I think of namarti heavy lists you need the thrall master and possibly a soul scryer to get up the board from reserves. But I haven’t played any games with them yet as I don’t own them. The warhammer weekly show had a graph showing thralls with everything else and thralls output was insane.
  22. I know it’s probably not the best list but I wanted to see how many sharks you can get in a list. Total is 11 but you lose the king to do it but I feel like it works out to be ok. 23. Well you have at a minimum 5-6 mortal wounds if you roll enough 4 ups or 6’s going into whatever you’re hitting, plus your 12 spear attacks at -2 rend on the charge if you position correctly for it and 18 eel attacks on top of that. I do think you will be able to kill the vast majority of whatever 6 morsaar run into. And depending on what else is in the list you can make sure they’re only saving on 6’s even if they save stack between your rend and the spell off the aspect of the sea. And you can keep your eels alive with the turtle running around behind them for +1 to save and then all out defense so you’re sitting on a 2+ ignoring rend 1. Seems solid to me. I want to test them out in the future after I play the triple turtle list to death.

    WIP on the sea elves

That is awesome. Gonna share some more pics Wednesday. Been making progress on the army and I’m excited to share it
  25. Well never said it was useless. Just not the type of player who enjoys armies like that.
