  1. @Chronos turtles are awesome in nautilar. That -3 rend to the fins and jaws is clutch. Run him near the king keep the king at a 2+ save with all out defense or using his finest hour and the turtle. I haven’t been able to get much output from the ranged shots from the turtles but those melee attacks hitting on 2’s wound on 2’s or 3’s across his entire profile is awesome. My king has averaged 22 damage off the polearm every time he’s ran into combat. Got a game this coming week against Kharadron overlords with my deepkin. Not sure if I’m gonna play fuethan or nautilar into him yet
  2. I think deepkin will do fine without it. We don’t have monsters we’re really using and there aren’t any endless spells we absolutely have to use. I hope it doesn’t become staple of competitive play, I think it’s cool for a narrative game cause it makes sense but this is giving me flashbacks to end of 7th Ed 40K anyone remember the teleporting terrain spell?
  3. I honestly don’t know that the incarnate is worth it’s points, Other armies that have monsters have great monsters and that thing isn’t going to do any better into them.

What was your list @DocKeule I have been seeing people post up games with deepkin and everyone seems to be either crushing it or getting destroyed, and I think that’s partially due to everyone trying to still force the eel lists, don’t get me wrong eels are great and all but I don’t think they lend themselves to the power of the book. Time will tell but maybe with some points adjustments we will get back to a happy medium of a mixed arms list
  5. If it’s like 40K it’s going to be every 6 months. I am still trying to work out how important that book is actually going to be because I have no desire to pay for terrain I can’t use since I don’t have a table and a model I will either always use or never use ( like 80% of the endless spells they said were going to be awesome and then never saw play) read the article and while it sounds cool I don’t think it’s going to be as effective as gw thinks it will be, this will either force people to drop monsters out their list or they’ll ignore this thing in favor of the extra vp monsters give and since endless spells besides like the emerald life swarm were barely seeing the table anyways just means we won’t see them still.

  7. Just so I know for sure the core rules say you can take an enhancement to get an extra mount trait right? The app is telling me I can’t take a second mount trait on a deepmare even though I took the enhancement
  8. Luckily I’m the only seraphon player in my local community and most of the iron jawz players are not one drops. Nobody around here plays teclis at least not recently anyways and DOK I have only played once with my thunderlizards and I tabled them turn 2. So I guess I will have to take the army out and play it a couple times. My friend is showing me a 9 drop 4 kings and volturnos list that I will have to try at some point just to see how it goes.
  9. @vinnyt still lacking lotann and the foot infantry. But I hear what you’re saying. I was getting the impression that going first wasn’t an absolute priority for this army since you have so many ways to basically counter things like a shooting alpha strike. Currently I’d be sitting at a 2 drop if I went double battle regiment or a 3 drop if I did something like battle regiment and hunters of the heartlands. And I know everyone likes the dragons but I’m getting the feeling we’re about to get a new battlescroll or whatever it’s called in the coming weeks and don’t think they’re going to be as appealing anymore. Plus if I take the dragons I give my local community the idea that I’m meta chasing lol.

    You could try 3d printing the wave but other than that I’m not entirely sure what you could do. I appreciate the compliments, normally I try to get the local commission painter to do my stuff but oddly enough he turned down the work so guess I’m on my own grinding away slowly.

    Hey guys. So not a lot of progress made since my last update. So far I have been working on the crews for the allopexes, have also hit armor color indecision, I was starting with a red color but then I tried out akhelian green contrast paint on the crews for the allopex’s and love it so I’m thinking that’s the color I’m sticking to for these guys and most likely the thralls and reavers. I also did some dry brushing on my turtles shells. Hope you all find some inspiration for your deepkin i apologize that my paint jobs aren’t the cleanest, this isn’t my favorite part of the hobby and it definitely shows in how not amazing my paint jobs come out. Oh also I challenged my local crowd to do display boards since we have quite a few amazing painters and while I will never beat them in painting I can at least give them a good challenge with display boards since they don’t do them. And I also picked up some dice for my deepkin army from baronofdice.com I like the deep purple blue and gold combination and now I don’t have to use my dark angels dice when I play this army.
  14. No the battletome over rides the core rules as it’s the most recent publication. If you wanted a 3rd mount trait either for a second king or a second leviadon you would need to take a battalion that would unlock the optional enhancement.

  16. I don’t think it’ll be a problem rule hasn’t changed between the first book and this one. Don’t make the tactical error like I did and present your opponent with a second unit to shoot and it should be fine.
  17. @DocKeule I won’t be able to play this exact list in the near future but I have a fuethan shark heavy list coming down the pipeline ready to run into a couple different armies shortly. The first opponent I’ll have is a KO or a big waagh army. Then the second will be a nurgle army with the glottkin and a couple other things. After that it’s against stormcast lumineth or legion of the first prince and maybe a fly spam nurgle army. This will be over several weeks but I’m hoping that with the various unit options I have I’ll get to keep my lists fresh. Eventually I want to get one of my opponent’s to play my seraphon army and let me actually see how much of a pain it is to face thunderlizards
  18. I’m thinking this list will play fairly well. 60 thralls 2 sharks and using the rituals for a 5+ ward on the thralls and then 2 thrall masters for the exploding 6’s and reroll 1’s to hit or exploding 6’s and -1 to wound.

  20. @Cyna The hero choices are really up to you. I have been playing with a tidecaster so I can use two rituals. Lotan is awesome for his +1 to wound bubble on everything including mounts but I suspect that it’ll be faq’ed to match the rest of the army. I think 20 thralls will do work for you. The damage output of those dudes is amazing. I’m excited to get my 50 back so I can get them on the table

I think it’s funny that sylvaneth can be allied into deepkin and you could basically faction terrain spam a board, idk why you would but, you can summon a wyldwood with a tree lord ancient spell and get one boat for faction terrain for the deepkin then use an artifact to get a second boat. Basically put down a bunch of terrain to block movement or lock an opponent from one side of the board unless they run through then wyldwood yay terrain spam. And losing friends lol
  22. @woolf I wish I had taken a picture. But if you set up so you have a unit of 10 models exactly 9 inches away from two units 5 are closer to one unit and 5 are closer to the other they would get to split fire, I agree I don’t think it should work that way but somehow it does since it basically ignores forgotten nightmares. Other people I have asked said yes it works that way but I think it definitely needs an faq.
  23. Alright new bat rep against shooty stormcast no dragons with the nautilar triple turtles. Played feral foray which is an absolute ****** mission for a 5 model army. So basically he systematically destroyed my army played perfect into me by focusing a unit at a time. Random question came up about forgotten nightmares and if you could split fire if you were equally close to 2 units. Didn’t really know how to answer that and the rule doesn’t explicitly say either way. So if anyone has an opinion let’s hear it.

    WIP on the sea elves

    Hey everyone. Sorry for the lack of updates recently, I’ve been slapped by all the life stuff that comes along with being an adult. Not much to show off today. I’ve built and got the first layer of paint ( which I mean primed) on my 3rd turtle got some paint on my akhelian king and started working on my second allopex. Hoped to be further along with this project but My wife and I have been scramble packing to move to our new place before we go on vacation in a few weeks. So hopefully I will be back in the regular swing of things in the next couple of weeks. Definitely a lot of clean up work to do and a long road ahead of me, as coming down the line I have 14 more sharks 50 thralls 50 reavers a second king, volturnos, both versions of the eidolon 2 tide casters, 3 soulrenders, 1 soul scryer, and finally to wrap up this long project before I purchase more 2 akhelian thrall masters. Until then though I hope you enjoy what I have to show off.
