Because you could realistically predict that 6+ years in the future GW would relaunch the game they abandoned for being commercially not viable.

You’re right. I remember when AoS launched and all Warhammer rules material suddenly dissolved. Burning an army you’d paid for and painted, rather than say, selling it, was the only sensible action.

Also this : "We want people to be able to use their old armies if they wish, or to start new ones, or to add new miniatures to old armies – whatever they want. "

Burning a Dark Elf army on a door seems like an even dumber decision now.

As for me, I haven't been this hyped and positive about the hobby in ages! The chaos duardin tease, that sliver of hope, really got me good, heheh. I have some AoS models, but I haven't really felt that urge to commit to an army yet, and suddenly I'm facing a reality where we might not only get new duardin but CHAOS DUARDIN too! How can I NOT get excited?! Doesn't matter if they're a year or two away, just gives me time to get back to painting and make room for their

The Chaos Duardin hints also reignited my hobby excitement. Chaos Dwarfs were my first army way back in 1996 and I’ve struggled to love an army to the same extent since they disappeared from store shelves.

So when the Hobgrots appeared they sparked the decision to just go ahead and collect the Big Hats again ChaosDuardin1.jpg

Well, as a chaos dwarfs & hedonites player, today is a rough day to say the least 😌

I guess I can make a STD army now to save few miniatures.

At least they still exist in the background, so it’s not quite reached the darkest days of 6th and 7th edition.

So... are we still an official army now ? Even in legends ?

I can't find anything on it and I'm starting to worry...

Looks like it’s back to how it was in 7th edition. We technically still have a list ( like we had Ravening Hordes) in the form of the Legions of Azgorh compendium, so we can play. But we don’t have support and likely won’t be allowed in most tournaments.

Hard to say, though for my money they'll hold off on revealing too much of the new stuff until after Dominion has dropped. I don't think they want to show anything that might cause folks to back out of buying their big starter box in favor of waiting for other thing.

GW are likely fuming over the Horus Heresy leaks as they’ve likely done just that.

It may be my personal perception, or somewhat influenced by how native american indians are depicted in my foreign country, but this to me look like your archetypical native shaman performing the rain dance. The warpaint in the range of the bonnesplitterz follow native american patterns too.

This shaman looks like the stereotypical american shaman, and not a voodoo witch-doctor

Last time I’ll comment on this particular issue because it’s getting off topic, but you know Bonesplitterz literally have Witch-Doctors right?

And you can’t see the similarity between the mask of the Shaman I posted and actual voodoo masks?

Bonesplitterz entire aesthetic has its roots in “voodoo” and “Juju”, mixed with Palaeolithic Hunter gatherer concepts.

  8. I’m not too fussed on the rules side of things so my wants are mainly focused on the narrative - and it appears I’m getting what I want in the game.

Mainly more development of the Destruction side of the background, with more than a singular God as it’s focus. Which Kragnos appears to be providing.
And more Order cities getting some details, which again seems to be the case.

Now I just need Chaos Duardin fleshed out and I’m completely satisfied.

I disagree, Bonesplitterz got an old somewhat generic design. They are quite more "Native american indian" than "Voodoo".

Got to disagree again. Bonesplitterz are quite clearly inspired by “voodoo” movie stereotypes, with their masked shamans wearing voodoo masks, snakes, warpaint and Juju sticks. The only Native American influence I can see is feathers.

The reason I am referring to it as “Hollywood”voodoo and using quotation marks is because voodoo is still a religion practiced by people and I don’t want to cause offense by suggesting it’s the distorted version tv and films portray it as.

I think these are voodoo greenskins now. That would be a fantastic unique new addition to the world and aesthethics of AoS.

Not that unique, Bonesplitterz already have the Hollywood version of “voodoo” influence and totems.
