Whitefang has a flawless track record. This definitely stands out. Could it have been cancelled after the mixed reaction to the first incarnate?

Maybe there's one final seasons of war for 3rd editions last hurrah in the first half of next year? It could come with that

  2. Pretty sure I've heard in interviews with black library authors that GW generally push for any writing to reference existing models and not invent anything too new, so I would think this centaur unit for sylvaneth is more of a when than if. Don't think it'll be the warcry warband though, as others have said Whitefang hinted towards the elf faction by LRL.

Maybe they were meant to come with Belthanos then got pushed back for some reason?

What makes me go this route is the following thinking path.

When the Age of Sigmar started the Mortal Realms were too young, ok, but there was nothing there with power enough to take over the deities coming from the old that was? Not a single beast or god?

Would be interesting to see the rise of a real deal (kind of what Kragnos was), something that makes real damage into the currently stablished deities.

Would love this to be Morghur rising as a true deity. His mutations and madness could twist the realms themselves. Realms gates phasing in and out of existence, connecting enemies and causing chaos. Hell maybe the big Hammerhall portal could fail for a bit, the mad panic of how they deal with the sudden cease of resources could be fun.

    All I want from 4th is;

    Skaven Range Refresh.

    Ogor Mawtribes Range Refresh.

    Beasts of Chaos Range Refresh.

    Fyreslayers Wave 2.

    Idoneth Wave 2.

    Anything else is cherries.

Yes please for Beasts of Chaos,

To be fair there are some sculpts that I can live with if I have to: Bestigors, Gors, Cygor/Ghorgon, Brayshaman.

Some I'd be ok to be cut entirely: Razagor, Cockatrice, Chimera, Chariots, Warhounds.

And some that (in my opinion are integral to the BoC schtick) and deserve a refresh: Centigors, Bullgors + Doombull, Jabbaslythe, Dragon ogors + Shaggoth, Chaos Spawn.

I'd be more excited to see anything new they can come up with, to me the BoC are a dark mirror to the Sylvaneth, they want the realms to be verdant and bountiful, they just want the Chaos-mutated version of that... I would love to see more of the nature twisted and turned monstrous, and the sinister "things that live in the woods" vibe reflected in their models. More models that I could imagine conducting dark pagan rituals around herdstones and snatching, twisting and transforming remote villages into their image, like the short story we got about the tales of the BoC transforming people. I want to see beastmen who can plot, scheme and infiltrate in order to bring down civilization, as I think this would give them more narrative opportunities and some amazing new minis.

Might as well cross-post these Cities rumours:

The only reason I have for not believing this is because in the warhammerfest AoS audience questions, I'm pretty sure they said not all wanderers will be gone (or something to that effect).

@Hawke any idea why wanderers were mentioned initially, was there a question about sylvaneth and Kurnothi that led to it?

A guy asked about whether cities will now be fully human or will there still be other races, and asked will parts like wanderers be cut. The answer was along the lines of "it will now be mostly human but still keep a few units of other races, and the one's cut will be usable maybe as another unit that is kept." I can't remember the exact words but I remember thinking, "oooo nice wanderers aren't totally dead". No one brought up kurnothi or sylvaneth.

YES LETS WAAAGH!! Lovw that it looks to be Ironjawz as well!! Im so hyped that the classic Humans and Orruks are coming back around!!

    Any word on Ogors mate?

Afraid not directly, hopefully something though, since the 2nd narrative book is destruction focused 🤞

  8. From the AoS Q&A, a few bits I remember, the winter tome is FEC (said he couldn't confirm for definite but implied it strongly enough that it's FEC without a doubt). No Incarnate this year/next 9 months. No warclans endless spell planned within the next 9 months. It seems like at least *a* wanderers kit will stay, no indication of which, (take that with a pinch of salt cos I can't remember the exact words).

That's fair, I would like to see a Coatl for sure. I just don't see what is ultimately light cav replacing a heavy cav unit, and they are a horrible kit that desparately needs updating. As has also been said we have already seen a big centerpiece kit in the Slann for this release.

Where were the "new eggs" mentioned? Could they be referring to the Raptordons? Or was it since they have been revealed?

Ok so I can't find the eggs thing anywhere and now I'm worried I made it up... or maybe I read a comment about seraphon hatching draconith eggs in secret and thought it was a comment from the seraphon reveals. So now I'm waaaay less sure of some new big monster!

Considering that the Saurus cav are one of the ugliest models GW still produce, I would hope that they will get an overhaul. Honestly given how good the LM big monsters still are I would prefer just overhauling the old and terrible models to adding a new monster, as much as I would enjoy that.

    So:

    1. Astrolith

    2. Kroxigors

    3. Salamanders+Razordons

    4. Saurus Cav

    (Hopeful 5, Saurus Guard).

I'd be super happy with this, but seeing the winged serpent iconography across the new models so far (mini winged snake on slann and the astrolith banner redesign) I feel like the "new eggs" they've mentioned will be cóatls.

  11. If we get a new troggoth I just hope it will visually be less abused looking than the other two kruleboyz models, that way I can justify getting one to ally into my gloomspite troggherd.

An armoured ironjaws troggoth would be amazing, I would buy in a heartbeat!

I can see Skaven being the baddie in the 4th ed launch box and getting the necron/kruleboyz treatment.

    Gutter runners

    Night runners

    Globadiers

    Rat ogres

    Plague monks

    Censer bearers

    Giant rats

    Jezziels guns and weapon teams

    Something new and nasty

That's 10 new kits which seems to be about right and some of them could be dual kits. Add in some characters and we've got ourselves a party!!

As much as I want this or BoC so get a similar treatment, I feel like edition starter set will always be a brand new army. But I've got hope they'll get their Seraphon-esc update in time.

  13. Anyone got any guesses on what the new named Seraphon character will be? (Since almost all new range releases have at least one).

My guess is a named prophet of Sotek riding a Coatl, sold as a duel kit which can be a generic prophet. Maybe Coatl eggs are the new eggs they've discovered at a long lost temple to Sotek.

I'm on the same boat, so far it looks like the stegadon and bastiladon kits are staying the same, as they appear on some of the pictures in the video. The skinks aren't that bad, but I imagine it would be a good opportunity for them to fix the skink box numbers.

I was along the same line of thinking in regard to the new model pictures, I imagine any old kit photographed alongside the new models won't be getting an update. A new saurus warrior picture has the old Carnasaur behind it for example, so reckon it's here to stay.

  15. The new Seraphon is a full indication for me that GW is fully committed to bringing in line the old fantasy factions up to date with the AoS range.

First Soulblight, then STD and now Seraphon gives me hope that my Beasts of Chaos and other's Skaven will eventually get their day in the sun, and will be equally as impressive as what we've been seeing.

Even if it's one refresh a year I still think that's a pretty good pace considering there are other smaller releases in between.

My heavy, heavy bias has got me hoping BoC will be 2024, purely as they've been featuring more in the art recently with what to me looks like updated aesthetics.
