    I don’t right now.  I’ve been holding off because I didn’t want to buy a 4 pack and the new underworlds set has a proxy that looks ideal for ghur.

     

    may have to bite the bullet on this one and just buy the full box

  2. Hey all.  I’ve been out of AoS since before 3.0 due to having kids…. But going to dip my toes back in in a couple weeks on a 1 day 1k tourney.  Looking for feedback on a couple list.

So, finally took the plunge here.  Been working on my first army and getting it ready for a local GT.  One of the folks at my LGS decided he’d rather play Kruelboyz instead of Slaanesh.  I had a few units that I could have used to expand my first army(Ironjawz) into big Waagh…. But decided to swap them for a few pieces of Slaanesh to get myself started.  
     

    indo not have the tome yet, it’s on order but figured I’d see if anyone here had advice on where to look to build out this group of units into making a serviceable list.  I do not need to be ultra competitive, I just don’t want to be conceding before the end of 3.

     

    the units I got are 2 start collecting daemons on sprue, dexcessa on sprue, contorted, enchantress, 15 seekers, and 3 fiends.

     

    questions I immediately have are:

     

    can Dexcessa be built as the caster variant?  I feel like that’s stronger, but I could be wrong.

     

    best build for the SC chariots?

     

    I have Sigvald and a Keeper already ordered at the LGS as I love their models.  I know I need to get the Fane.  Any other staples I’m missing?  Any suggestions on how to get this shaped into a decent army for friendly games?

    If you buff up 6 gruntas with a warchanter and they go fight and say lose 2 models. The remaining 4 that are still buffed will still be a major threat, while a 3 man unit getting cut down to 1 is no longer a problem.

    I plan to run bloodtoofs with 2 krushas and 2x6 gruntas and a unit of brutes (perfect for sending into 1 wound char units on objectives). This creates maximum efficiency and makes it much more likely to snowball the opponent army with smashing and bashing.

    I’d be curious to hear how it holds up, I was messing around with a similar idea.  My main concern with a list consisting of 7 total units and 21 total models is that the board presence and ability to contest objectives will be lacking(assuming we’re talking 2 MK, 2 chanters, 2x6 GG, and a unit of 5 brutes rolling in at 1950ish points)

    Interesting.  Seems like a ton of points locked into Morathi and Gotrek, but since neither are likely to die…. Probably fairly sound

    I think they’re likely on the right track if you’re looking to win tourneys(or place highly).  I feel like that’s probably a bit oppressive for LGS play

    I’m running Morathi and a unit of 10 Blood Sisters.  And another threat in a large block of shards.  Works pretty well, puts out solid damage and the shadow Queen buffs the sisters

    The thing that he can pop out out of 1 wound unit can be useful (for Hero keyword mostly). I kinda like him in Anvilgard where he could take Venomfang Sword which gave him overall 2d3 MW on 6+ to wound.  In other Cities there are some tricks as well, not really in Har Kuron unfortuantely. Maybe as general where he could bring his trait where it's needed without actually moving there by himself? That would be probably better in list with more infantry then yours.

    You’re right...  that’s a bit tougher of a bullet to bite.  With 100 spare points I could for sure find something useful to do.

     

    tbh, I’d love to run Morathi, but she’s 600 points and 2 DoK units, needing 6 CoS to cover her.  I’m worried I’d be hamstringing the rest of my army to get her in a list.

    Altough I'm really not aware of their stats or capabilities, never played DoK. I like the idea that they can be an alternative to the spell portal for the Spray. 

    Not too keen on the assassin, but it just never pulls it weight in my lists. What is you idea with the slaughter queen? (again, no experience with DoK) 

    Warlocks are pretty mediocre stat wise.  2 wounds, 5+ save, 6 bravery.  Hitting on 4/4 with two attacks.  -1 tend.  But they haul at 14” move and can cast.  Their warscroll spell is cast on 6+ and does mw (d3 on units under 5 modes, d6 on 5-9, and flat 6 on 10+).

     

    I am also worried about the assassin being a waste of 60 points...  but the model is fantastic.  If it ends up garbage, I can take those and the 20 spare and paint up a scourgerunner chariot.  
     

    the Slaughter Queen is interesting.  She’s also a priest so she can do the city prayer on a unit.  She also has a self target prayer that lets her fight twice.  Save 5+ and two decent weapons(3 att, 3/4 -1, 1 and 3 att, 3/3 -1, d3).  Mostly she’s coming along for the prayer.

So, I am brand new to AoS and was gifted 6 Kurnoth Hunters and some Dryads by a friend to bring me in.  Also the Sylvaneth Tome.  I was...  not a fan, but found out that I can use some Sylv in LC...  so, that’s where I went.  I’m not looking to necessarily win tournaments, but I’d prefer to not be wiped out by turn two with my friend or at the local FLGS.  Wondering if anyone would mind critiquing my list.

    idea being to send the Sylvaneth and maybe the sisters of the thorn on the hidden paths.  Could alternatively run a runelord, longbeards, and irondrakes instead of the Freeguild.

     

    i also don’t know who to make my generals adj. or what spell to give the sisters...  heal to keep the hunters alive or the armor spell for the same reason.  Or the retinue, though I’d lean towards the guard probably 

     

    im new to war gaming in general, though do understand synergies decently from past experience with CCGs.

  14. Curious if someone could point me in the right direction.  
     

    was gifted a couple models and planned to build around it.  Have a list in mind, where could I bounce it off someone(s) more experienced.  Don’t need to win tournaments, just don’t want to get wiped off the table .

     

    also wondering if there was a resource for finding a local scene.  Most FLGS I’ve called around me have thriving 40k or Warmachine groups, but little to no AoS
