If you are referring to something along the lines of USSR, it was one of the finest projects in human history and a true milestone in our development as a species. Please don't @ me with whatever propaganda you heard about it, I heard it all before, it holds no merit and this is not the place.

As for extremism, it is but a positional description. Go mere 200 years in the past and liberal bourgeois advocating for parliamentary republics are dangerous blood-drenched extremists that want to destroy all that is good and holy in the world but they will never succeed because of human natu... I mean the divine right of kings.

I think that Vulcha would be awesome for an Gravelords army, too.

That was my first thought! Belladamma would be perfect riding it as a vamp Lord on zombie dragon. She’s even got feathers on her so would combine really well

it a theory but they don't want to pay Amazon or Apple for the digital fee on their plateform so it better for them financially to do it this way

We’ll if they wanna save money at the expense of their customers and more importantly at the expense of the environment I’ll happily go sailing the seven seas for my Battletomes.

Man, I like Adam but sometimes the way he talks is like he’s trying to reach the minimum word count on an essay lol

I’m sure he’s a lovely bloke but he really is poor. Constantly stumbles over his words and seems completely out of his depth. Just shows how amateurish Games Workshop still are.

  5. So £50 to access a platform that has a tiny amount of content compared to YouTube. The animations do looks cool though and the mini you can just whack on eBay if it’s not to your fancy and get some of that £50 back. Devil will be in the detail for me. How much content will be released each week? Will the army apps be built into that price? Most importantly can this be watched off an XBOX or PlayStation so I can enjoy the content properly on the TV or will it just be a website?

Yeah, I'm probably over-reacting as I LOVE gatebreakers, so the fact that there is only one efficient way to take more than one (2 Breakers, 2 Stompers) is a bit frustrating.  3 Breakers and 2 Mancrushers (or 2 Breakers, 5 Crushers) is possible but feels like your hamstringing yourself with a massively under point army.

I still think triple breaker, 2 mancrushers will be tasty. All these extra buffs monsters and heroes get plus a lot of the extra scoring seems to revolve around being a monster so they’ll still do well.

So been considering the new points cost and after initial annoyance at the 525 Gatebreakers have come to accept that we've gone up massively in power level and more restrictive list building is the price we pay (not having to take Mancrushers is an interesting twist though).  Annoying that Two Gatebreakers and a Krakeneater isn't a realistic option anymore (loses an entire Maneater), as I feel it was our best build.

Might thoughts on possible good builds:

In your face, smashy list.  Feels like the best for raw power but lacks tactical options:

2 Gatebreakers + 2 Warstompers: Gatebreaker general (Louder than words, Idiots with Flags, Amulet of Destiny)

    More flexible list

On of each mega, three units of one Mancrusher.  Gatebreaker general (Louder than words, Idiots with Flags, Amulet of Destiny)

Could clump the Mancrushers together for better shooting and command efficiency but I don't think it's worth the lost of flexibility going from 6 to only 4 units.

Could also opt for Krakeneater general, but only time will tell how valuable that bonus to capturing objectives will be in 3.0.  Generally less models on the board, but lots more of them count as multiple.

    What's everyone else thinking?

Strangely I feel we’ve got way more list flexibility now they made mega gargants battleline. I’m liking the idea of taker tribe 3 kraken eaters and 1 gatebreaker or breaker tribe 2 breakers 2 stompers.

Ok, has anyone heard anything about no more than 50% of your total points can be leader/monsters? I’m not trying to start a rumor, it was just something I was told and I was fuming mad. Has anyone else heard this nonsense?

You can’t spend more than 50% of your points on a SINGLE unit.

  9. Wow they didn’t add 40K style rules for fighting in combat! So any unit that is minimum 10 models, or needs more than 5 to be effective in combat, on bigger than a 25mm base that only has a 1 inch reach is pretty rubbish now! What planet are GW on that they thought this was a good idea?

Why is choosing who gets first turn still there?

Why is battleshock unchanged when it never had much of an impact anyway?

I’m hoping there’s more to grand strategies and battle tactics in the GHB but these seem half baked and easy to score.

Just a funny thought, but Nagash can cast Arcane Bolt up to 8 times. Would he be allowed to stock up on them and proceed to just wail on an enemy every phase + his own stomps?

According the article he can so if you go first you could cast 8 of them and then run forward and dare the enemy to charge you as they’ll take 9d3 mortal wounds! 8 bolts and a stomp. Oh and you give him +1 save and he’s on a re rolling 2+

According to some rumours, Daughters of Khaine's points have been increased.

"Sisters up 20, stalkers  up 30. Morathi up 60, basically everything went up 10 or more"

I haven't seen any photo evidence, but if it's true, then maybe there will be a points increase across the board.

Utterly terrified right now that I won’t be able to fit in 3 Mega Gargants for my Sons list.

Man, I really wish I could see into alternate timelines, too.

Comp is garbage. It's ego. It's fear and stubbornness masquerading as insight and intelligence. Comp is just about the most certain way to divide a global community into factions - pockets of people who, each in their own group, think they have found the One True Way to play.

Comp is a disease in search of a weak-willed host.

Do you really want build your strategies based on one set of rules only to find that in the next town other over they play by different rules that ****** up your understanding of the game? Comp does exactly that and has for decades. It is maddening to have to learn 10 different sets of the supposedly same rules just because 10 different tournament organizers or 10 different gaming groups each feel they have "fixed" the game but each in different ways.

    U ok hun?

Thoughts? How about "any community that thinks it knows more about the game than the people who wrote it, any community that changes rules rather than learn how to play with them, any community that thinks about changing rules before they have even played one single game using them, is a community that needs to be nuked into oblivion and stop crying."

    That's my thought.

Rules comp is one of the Unholy Octet of Warhammer Evils.

The community has consistently shown to be better at comping GW games over the years and if it wasn’t for the community giving AOS points and scenarios this game would have died a long time ago.

If we do end up with a whole bunch of minimum sized units (and the pitched battle profiles don't change what minimum sized is of course) then the coherency rules become less of an issue anyway. Most elite units are 3-5 models. Battleline are 10 and some horde units (rats, marauders, grots) are 20.

Agreed, it makes coherency less on issue. Thinking about the implications of loads of MSU units it makes my Sons Of Behemat even better as instead of being bundled by 30 buffed up dudes who could potentially kill you you’ll get hit by 5-10 max models and your activation projects a lot more power than theirs.

As far as I know we don't actually have the text to see from an official source. Just rumours. So we can't really know for certain (and even then WarCom reveals are not always 100% correct anyway).

Ok thanks. Loads of min sized units on the board is the first big positive I’ve seen from previews and leaks. Just gotta hope they realise what a nightmare the new coherency rules are and faq it soon after release.

I'm case anyone was wondering about how you get 90%+ in range under the new coherency rules.

This is your large base cav unit setup. It works because the first casualty takes you down to 5 models thus stopping the coherency issue.

Then this is your infantry setup for the ardboy/BL size base.

The ends are in 1" of 2 other models and penultimate is 3 models.20210608_204225.jpg.0425d736eb6f4171ff86424e937928e1.jpg

Lastly the rest of the line is within 1" of 4 models and still within 1" for melee. 20210608_204233.jpg.fe6954a66ce9ebed7125fd88c37d26a3.jpg

The major problem is how much of a pita it is to setup, took me ~2mins for the small line I did here.

The rules writers love to bang on about how ‘cinematic’ the rules are when they are promoting a new game. This is the most uncinematic janky looking rubbish I’ve ever seen and will suck if that’s how games are played out. Give me conga lines any day compared to this.

Interesting that the Killaboss only has 5" move, I figured the Kruleboys would be faster.

Also Chronomantic Cogs changes are interesting. Instead of the +2 move and charge board-wide, it's only +1 charge but within 18". My knee-****** reaction is that it's a nerf. Being able to be selective might be good, but you have to put it closer now and the enemy can always try to control it etc. +1 charge is atleast 3 less than +2 move and charge, I don't know if the smaller board size is that drastic.

You thought they’d be faster? Have you seen their baby legs!
