I dont know how I missed that out LMAO. You really can feel this was a last minute decission, huh?

Maybe the decission was made when the campaign (focused on boc and bones) flopped so hard that the incarnate ranges were discarded.

To be fair, very rarely there are legit leaks that originate from there but it's such a rare occasion. The last one that was not just StD photos was Soulblight Gravelords units list 2-3 months before release. As a rule of thumb - everything that covers 2-3 years in advance is a hogwash in 99% of the cases.

Wf spoiled chrofs with such advance xD

So stuff we know is going hasn't been marked as "last chance to buy" (at least on AU store), regardless of TOW re-use or not (e.g. Orcs). However, these 4 have as mentioned earlier in the thread... kinda weird they weren't noted on the list as well?

I think those models are going to leave the game in favour of 40k, with a demos refresh for them.

I'm out of reactions here, been an interesting day for the hobby indeed.

May I ask why you feel that's too much. Again, legit curious.

6 years is a pretty substantial amount of time. Imagine raising a child for 6 years, doing a military tour for 6 years, recovering from a life threatening accident for 6 years,  hell, doing 6 yeas in prison...

And I feel safe saying those minis were kinda redundant when the came out. If you are a fan then that's great. I myself thought they looked good but still felt the redundantcy.

I don't really care about, and I have tons of sacrosant minis, but I understand that the bloat in stormcast was impossible to handle, the problem is the message you send.

If 32 warscrolls that have 9-6 years old, full plastic, released for aos and being for the posterbys are not safe, who is?

Think about deepkin. Just one mini in 6 years, are they safe? Yesterday I was convinced that yes, they are perfectly fine, but today? im 80% sure, the doubt is there.

but I don't understand the level of uproar with the sacrosanct minis

I'm on the opposite, I understand to say goodbye to minis that come from other games (uw, warcry or fantasy), but deleting a FULL edition worth of releases from 6 years ago? That is too much.

Btw, was I the only one who noticed that Vandus is not on the list? So I guess the new character is not Vandus in the end... also the Lord Relictor. Seems we would have him around for a bit more time.

The incantor is not in the list, and if I remember it right, she comes in a sprue with liberators.

I think @Ejecutor meant tournament players. I certainly believe that they are the minority, but they have way to much impact on the game. Imo, a negative impact.

Oh ok, now I understand @BarakUrbazpost.

Yes, that is true, some very very very very specific people is really really really noisy, that's true.

But I have to say, everytime I hear to Matt (the rules lead) I think he's a very serious worker, with very good ideas and understanding of the game, so those noisy dudes have little power right now.

  8. 6 minutes ago, BarakUrbaz said:

Well, you have to consider the "soft competitive" people; who don't go out trying to win tournaments but buy units they hear are strong so they can win local games.

Still competitive and worried about rules, even to a lesser extent.

Beer and pretzels, painter and narrative players are the minority rn, that's why the focus of the game is more competitive every year.

I have no source, but I would say competitive players are the minority of the sales, but the bigger voice in the social media.

Competitive choices are the first ones to get soldout so I think competitive players are the majority of the sales

Did they?  I didn't catch that.  IMO they should have done that with all the dropped stormcast stuff, not 'here's legends rules' but instead 'here's the current warscroll that this old unit counts as'.  They might have had to slightly change what stuff they drop, like keeping the bolt thrower around or whatever, but still.  Far less bad blood that way.

Oh that would be really nice, with both Skaven and Stormcast, but their way to approach marketing implies that they must show stuff one each day, so maybe in the middle of may we know those warscrolls xD

I'm still shocked the're going with 'these are separate units and you just won't be allowed to play with your old ones' for the stormcast replacements, instead of 'these are new models for your existing units, feel free to keep playing the old ones if you want, but your army won't look as cool'.

They literally said that you can proxy with old minis as you want.

Death are up for 5th ed so we'll see then I expect

We can think that 1st edition was about Chaos, so we are repeating the cycle now and next is death or we can think that 1st edition was order and the next one is the start of the cycle.

I don't know wich one looks more promising.

They absolutely should tell us what we can expect- Are Ogors staying? Are the Idoneth staying? Can we expect that the 2nd Generation Warcry Warbands will be sticking around long-term? If not, then what are the plans for updating the Gorgers long-term, and the Chameleon Skinks?

This is a huge blow to my certainty that I would buy two of Briar and Bone because I wanted 2 of the Teratic Cohort, because if I can expect to see them dropped 2 years from now, there's no reason to buy more than one (Because I am neurotic about certain things and completing my Bonereapers are one of those things. The best thing they could do now would be reveal what is getting replaced, what's getting fully dropped, and what the lifespan on Warcry Warbands should be.

I can understand the loss of confidence in GW, I have lost more than 100 minis but, to be honest, almost ever cut was known.

So if what most of us are speculating is true and allies are being removed with regiments of renown as the stand-in for them, that is going to break a few flavour specific (i.e. non-competitive) ally choices, like the Black Coach allied into SBGL (because that's where it belong you thieving bedsheet ghosts! *cough* ahem).

Same for fluffy stuff like specific SCE into order factions as a city-protectors based splash, or Dryads, etc. into an order faction for a splash of my guys/gals are from the living city. Yada-yada. Unless you're one of the lucky ones and the hero or unit you like having in your army gets a Regiment of Renown box...

That's a little bit of a bummer if it plays out that way... we get a win for construction flavour but at the cost of ally flavour.

In narrative enviorments you can play what you want, nobody can stop you to put a Black Coach in your SBGL list or some mixed order units in cities.

  15. The duplicates are not in the judicator-vigilor warscrolls, are in vanguard-judicators.

Vigilors is a mixed unit, with capabilities in melee and range, that supports your other ranged units.

I think Vanguard should be the long range antielite option -> 30" with some mortal wound capacity or high rend

Judicator the medium antichaff range ->24/18" with exploding hits

Vigilors the mixed option ->12" with the best melee profile.

Shame. I was hoping they would simplify that warscroll much more than this.

My toughts about the weapon unification is that melee “choice” weapons (like you can take swords or spears) are going to be merged, special weapons (like 1 in 5 or 1 in 10 can take big chunky weapon) will stay and shield/pair of weapons will have standarized buffs (like shield +1 save and dual +1 attack)
