Looks great Archibald. What colours do you use for the darker bone like around the harvester's neck and "backpack".
Thanks for your kind words.
The darker bones are just basilicanum grey or black templar (for the darker tones) over skeleton horde.
Oh and i used grey seer as a base coating for the Harvester. All over models until now have a wraithbone base coating.

So I've got a 1k game coming up and I would appreciate any advice anyone has to offer.
Looking at running this,
Allegiance: Ossiarch Bonereapers
- Legion: Mortis Praetorians
LEADERS
Liege-Kavalos (200)
- General
- Command Trait: Katakros' Chosen
Mortisan Boneshaper (130)
UNITS
20 x Mortek Guard (260)
- Nadirite Blade and Shield
10 x Mortek Guard (130)
- Nadirite Blade and Shield
BEHEMOTHS
Gothizzar Harvester (200)
ENDLESS SPELLS / TERRAIN / COMMAND POINTS
Aethervoid Pendulum (50)
Bone-tithe Shrieker (30)
TOTAL: 1000/1000 WOUNDS: 52I had 50pts left over and thought why not add an endless spell, but also I've been tempted to run the soul mason instead as every game the shaper just sits back to score and doesn't get to regen much. And with having the harvester it makes me think I should swap them more and pick a different endless spell. What's everyone's thoughts?
You could switch 10 Mortek and the Pendulum for 5 Deathriders for a bit of mobility.

So I just heard that Nagash is going up to 975pt in the Soulblight Gravelords tome. Whats up with that?
Think he might be getting a new Warscroll yet again?
I asked that in the Gravelords thread and it seems that his warscroll hasn't changed...
The only change is that he knows all Gravelord spells again...
At least that is what they said to me.
-
What justifies 975p for Nagash?🤪
The imgur page doesn't show his new warscroll...

Hello fellas,
i have a box of Shadow Warriors/Sisters of the Watch and i am not shure how to build them. Oh and i already have 9 Shadowstalkers.
Shadow Stalkers seem so much better than Shadow Warriors. So i don't really think that the Shadow Warriors would be worth it.
But the other option would be to build 10 Sisters of the Watch. It feels like i should have a t least 20 or 2x10 to field them so that they can shine on the battlefield.
But back to the topic: Now that we have Shadowstalkers, what do you think about Shadow Warroirs? Are they still an option for you?

In case you haven't made the choice yet, or for someone else who comes along and is wondering the same thing:
The "best" choice is a set of magnets so that way you can swap which unit they are. However, if you don't want to magnetize, or don't trust your skills when it comes to magnetizing, or for whatever other reason want to have just a single unit, then these are your considerations.
Concussors are probably the best if you are running Stormcast and want to bring a unit of 2-4 models down from the sky. The prevent pile in effect, mortal wounds, and general decent damage is all pretty good.
Fulminators are probably the best if you are wanting to bring a unit of 2-4, keep the unit on the board, and have a heraldor to regularly get charges off. The key things for Fulminators is that if they don't get the charge, they do less damage than Concussors. However, if they do get the charge, they do a good bit more damage - specifically, a single model on the charge deals an average of 2 more damage than a concussor, while off the charge it deals an average of 2 less (numbers given vs a 4+ save). Additionally, if they are sitting on the field, they are a bit tougher because they get a +1 to save against ranged damage. If you are running a Living City list, they can come in from a board edge, "attack" with their ranged weapon, move 10", and nearly guarantee a charge. The guaranteed charge means that a squad of 4 fulminators can be expected to go through a 30 wound unit with 4+ saves on average on the charge, while a squad of concussors can only be expected to go through a 20 wound unit. In a more traditional stormcast list, fulminators inability to get in range and get repeated charges off means that they tend to be a little less reliable than concussors.
Then we get to Desolators. Want to bring a squad of 4? Concussors are better. Want to bring a squad of 8? Now desolators make sense. Additionally, they are slightly cheaper than the other guys, so it isn't quite as backbreaking to bring a big unit. To be honest though, the damage of large groups of desolators isn't a huge buff over concussors or fulminators, with the desolators doing an average of .5 more damage over concussors, so the real payoff here is that a squad of 8 of them costs 120 points less than a squad of 8 concussors/fulminators.
Finally, Tempestors. I really struggle to come up with a time that you want to bring these. Get them close to enemy ranged units and they give a -1 to hit bubble. But otherwise they do as much damage as a squad of fulminators off the charge. However, at 190 points per pair, they do at least come in cheaper than Fulminators/Concussors, so if you really want to run some Guard but are pinching the points, I guess they make sense.
Wow, thanks for the awesome reply mate!
I build mine as Concussors, because i am mostly facing Ironjaws these days. And the greenskins are charging most of the time, so 2dmg all the time is better than 3/1dmg (mostly 1dmg). Oh and if course no real shooting in sight, which makes the Fulminator bonus not really approachable.

i dont think we get a new battletome anytime soon and if we get we will not get updatet warscrolls. I think next Edition Starter Box will be Lumineth vs Vampires or something like that. Maybe GW aims for making Lumineth teh new Posterboys.
The starterbox will contain Bretonian like Stormcast and a new Destruction faction of hobgoblin wolfriders.
So get your hopes up for good new SCE rules and an new battletome (fingers crossed).

Hey fellas,
i just ordered the last boxes for my first 1k list. The dreadlord will be the old Malekith model. I am so excited to build this model.<3
The assassin is there because i love the model and i want to make the warscroll work.
The plan is that ghe Dreadlord acts as my hammer and the Phoenix Guard s my anvil. The Sisters and the Handgunners harass enemy heroes and the Incantor tries to keep the dragon alive.
So what do you guys think? Any tipps or improvements?

The vexillor teleportation happens in the movement phase, so it stops you from activating the shield of civilisation
Oh, i guess i skipped that part. 😅
Thanks for clarification Marcvs. 🙂

Trying to understand something RE Stormkeep and the Shield of Civilisation ability.
If I go first and use translocation to set up my liberators 9" from the enemy, I understand they dont get the +1 to hit and save buff as they were set up in my turn.
However once its my opponent's turn, are the liberators now buffed because they didnt move that turn? OR can they only get that buff once they havnt moved/been set up in my turn? As in, I would have to wait until my next turn and not move them in order to get the buffs?
Also, it appears if they dont move in my turn the buff activates, and will stay up even if I make a charge later in the same turn. Is that correct?
The buff goes off if they didn't move in the movement phase, so you can translocate/knight vexillor in the hero phase and still get the buff in the same turn.
Charging and pile-ins don't affect the buff either. -

The list works like this.
drop stormkeep patrol battalion
frontline 20 judicators behind that the liberators. Spend cp for the judicators to shoot 16 xbows and 4 big guns. Then either translocate/knight vexillor to another spot and shoot again in shooting fase. Or shoot again in the shooting fase without teleporting. But then i have to grab the gryphounds and run them before the judicators to protect them from melee.
judicators do around 16 damage vs 4 plus armour save and around 16 mortals to units with 6plus units.
vs that ironjaw list you shoot the xbows into the mawcrusha and the special guns into the ardboys/brutes. If they have a screen you nuke that in the hero fase and teleport the unit in range after you wipe that screen. Deploy all dogs in a way so he cannot deploy his mawcrushas in a good way. Mawcrushas got a big base so you could really prevent atleast 1 but if you play with enougj terrein you can prevent 2 from getting to you. Remember your 2 solo dogs. Els sacrifice your small units or small heroes( not lord castellant). Keep your big block of liberators in a way so his units charge in a point where your big hammers are.
pigs are anoying but if he goes with that 5 flat damage mawcrusha you want to truck him first. Keep a cp around for battleshock. Gryphounds are super strong against the mawcrusha because he has to attack them first els they dart around him
So i finally got my "Ven Brecht Black Watch" box and tinkered myself the following list. It is a combination of your list and the one of cinderfall gaming youtube channel. I just love the look of combined arms from CoS, SCE and the Shadowstalkers and the 12 dog-strong unit of Gryphhounds sounds interesting too.:)
The loss of the CPs from the batallion and 2 more drops in exchange of more Gryphhounds and Shadowstalkers sounds okay to me. My orruk opponent normaly has more than 5 drops, so going first should not be a problem.
I am looking forward to testing it out. Maybe on the weekend.:)

yep. that's the one trick of my 1k list
the patrol and the astral templar CT happen at the same time, so you choose the order
So you want to charge 1 turn with the Liberators? Isn't this benefitial for your opponent because you come to him to get slaughtered? Your output wont kill anything important, so he can mop you up in 2 turns?
My main opponent is an ironjaws player who fields 1 Mawcrusher, 2 Warchanter and 2 pig units at 1k, so i am maybe a bit influenced by my bad experience. -

at 1k point I am doing decently (currently 2-1 with a minor defeat) with a patrol list, but we're playing on 48x48 tables so it's practically the perfect situation
Could you share your 1k list with us?:)

I don't see why you would choose Fulminators over Concussors. Dealing Mortal wounds and consistend Dmg 2 sounds better to me. Please change my mind, because i want to understand why Fulminators are always taken in Living City.

Hey fellow Gargants,
i need your advice playwise. At the weekend i finished my 2k Stomp and had my first 2k games with them against Ironjaws (lists see bellow) and got totally obliterated twice. I don't know the names of the battleplans (in one you could burn objectives after turn 2 and in the other everyone has 3 objectives and chooses which is the main objective every turn). It felt like my Megas got obliterated as soon as they touched one of the Mawcrushers, e.g. the -1 to hit got erased by the Mawcrushers commandability. We played on a 4x4 field and his Mawcrushers could go over half the battlefield in one turn with mighty destroyer. Oh and of course i roled like i was in Kindergarden, all D3/D6 were 1/2s.🙄
So help by you is needed, so that the Sons can reclaim their rightful place at the destruction foodchain.

im having some fun with this Shotgun list. Played a few games. Most where closeHow do you work this list? Seems like only the Juds do some damage and even that looks not like much.
The list looks super interessing to me. Would love to try it out and i am only one Van Brecht box away from it.:D
My main enemy are Ironjaws (2x Mawcrusher, 2x3 Pigs, 2x Warchanters, Brutes and Ardboyz). How would you play the list against him? We play on 4x4 and he ist just obliterading anything with his two Mawcrushers.:/
