  1. Would love some feedback or thoughts on the lists I’ve made..

I would also love to see your Teclis lists, I’m struggling to fit him in.

ive not decided on sub-faction per list yet, will probably swap and change as my mood dictates for each list.

Im also not sold on the battalions even though they are easy to fill, they don’t seem to bring that much to the table when I could bring another unit instead. Only benefit is to reduce drops.

    List 1:

    Teclis 660

    Cathaller 140

    Eltharion 220

    20 wardens 240

    20 wardens 240

    10 sentinels 140

    10 sentinels 140

endless spells up to 100 points

    Auralan legion 120

    List 2

    Cathaller 140

    Eltharion 220

    Stone mage 130

    Avalenor 360

    20 wardens 240

    20 wardens 240

    10 sentinels 140

    10 sentinels 140

    Dawnriders 130

    Dawnriders 130

    Auralan legion 120

    List 3

    Cathaller 140

    Eltharion 220

    Stone mage 130

    Avalenor 360

    20 wardens 240

    20 wardens 240

    10 sentinels 140

    10 sentinels 140

    Stoneguard 100

    Stoneguard 100

    Auralan legion 120

    Endless spells up to 70

  2. The army is definitely a beta strike / defensive army. Set up on the right points properly and annoy the enemy with archers to force them to attack and then use the two activations at a time to get the edge in combat before slowly grinding forward to other points to win.

Im thinking some deep strike eels are a good way to add to that strategy.. that is if you can afford the points.. this definitely feels like an army where you want a lot of things but can’t have them all.

I'm pretty sure the protective endless spell is actually 3 seperate models placed around the unit, which would allow it to accommodate pretty much any size.

that would be awesome if it does work that way, but I feel like it might have a rule where each tip has to touch another tip, just like the wildwood for sylvaneth

  4. In regards to the Alarith ability to push enemies back, there was some discussion before, about it being abused by the enemy, and while I can certainly see that happening in some situations the rule is written so they have to end at least 1inch away from your models if possible, so they would need to move directly away from the unit they are engaged with in most cases right? This does mean that so long as you have positioned yourself well, they won’t be able to abuse it. I guess time will tell..

on the topic of endless spells... do you guys think even 10 spear men would fit inside the protective ring? It really doesn’t seem like they could, it looks like it’s only big enough for a single model really, but holy cow, could you imagine if you could fit a block of spear men in it, with shining company? -2 to be hit, and +1 save, plus you would effectively prevent them from being able to get many if any attacks on you at all due to them having to attack over the base of the spell, meanwhile you’re 3inch reach means you get to just poke them full of holes... that would let you create an absolute no go zone for the enemy.

  5. Guys I figured it out..

they mentioned ally’s in the article today.. our mounted melee hero is the anointed flamspyre and frostheart phoenix from CoS. I’d also bet we can take Phoenix guard, anointed on foot, shadow warriors and maybe the assassin? The keywords are a bit all over the place, it’s possible we only get Phoenix temple units, but I would love some shadow warriors to go along with my army so I’m saying they are in! 😂

Preorders usually go live at 10am in each time zone. Not sure about America.

I’m in Australia, so hopefully it’s 10am here.

I was also wondering if anyone could help with a colour scheme.. I want to do blue as one of the main colours, but I’m really struggling to decide on a second. I really don’t want to paint black or white, as my FEC have a lot of that going on already, as well as green, so I’d like to avoid that too. Any thoughts?

I doubt unit champions are heroes with their own warscroll. I am certain from battle reports that they just act as one - they cast spells, use abilities kind of like Mortek Hekatos.

    I hope you’re right.

Do you guys think we’re getting preorder announcement this weekend?

This is really interesting. I have been thinking that, perhaps, some of those champions can act not only as leaders of their units, but as hero options on their own. For example, with the Sanguinary Guard in WH40K, you can turn one of the 5 miniatures into an "ancient", which is a character, and not part of the unit. This would solve the problem of few warscrolls and allow for some cool conversions of said champions to make them look as characters, instead of leaders of their units. However, given that unit sizes in AoS are less flexible than in 40K (So if you take 1 warden out of your unit of 10 you are effectively handicapping yourself without any reduction in points) , I don't think that this is going to be the case, but would love to see it.

True, this is absolutely possible. FEC is a great example of this, and I’m not going to lie, I didn’t like it for my FEC and I wouldn’t love it here. It just makes things awkward when buying kits, but hey. If that is the case, then suddenly we have the potential for a lot more warscrolls and it certainly wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me.

  9. I have to say, even after weeks I am still a little miffed at the lack of a melee focused non-named hero that isn’t a behemoth.. not even sure if the non-named mountain cows are hero’s or just a unit.

Also even after weeks (has it even been weeks? It feels like months) I’m still dying for this release.

Makes me wonder what the bonus is against heroes?
    article says “increasing his damage”.
My guess is it will be a flat 3 damage, rather than D3?

If that is the case then yeah, he takes down a terrorgheist on average when fighting hero’s, which seems a bit much.

I’d hope the bonus was just like +1 to wound or something, otherwise he’s really going to punish any hero unlucky enough to get into melee with him.

If I’ve worked it out correctly he could potentially do 36 normal wounds + 8 mortal wounds in a round of combat. I know, never gonna roll that, but still that’s insane!
Really hope we don’t have to wait long.

I may not be doing the math right, but I do not get anywhere close to this.

You probably get 6 hits through on average Including the exploding 6s. On average you get 1 mortal wound through, and like 4 wounds x D3. Then if you get real lucky you get 12 damage, + the mortal, before saves, but more realistically you’re not getting that. Closer to like 6 to 8 damage before saves, which is good, but it’s not like broken.

The guy at the front middle doesn't look like one of the hammer guys? The haft looks much longer than previously seen pictures and it might just be the picture but he doesn't appear to have a cow motiff on his head

I’m with you on this, the cow helmet is definitely there on the guy in the foreground, but the guy behind him definitely does not have a cow helmet.

    okay, maybe he does..

  13. I’m just sitting back and enjoying what I’m given at this stage. We know we won’t be able to buy anything for months yet in a best case scenario, so whether they show it all or continue to drip feed, I’m happy. Have to play the waiting game either way.

That being said, I am so excited to actually get my hands on these models haha.

It specifically said he can only see through Teclis I think, I really love the idea of him having that whole blind samurai thing going on and casting a sun/light spell to blind his opponents so they fight on equal ground

If they are fighting Tyrion they will never be on equal ground. 😁

This artwork bother me soooo much.

Here, Teclis have a smug face that gives him a imposing look and his legs and arms make for a really dinamic pose.

The helmet doesnt have that cloth around the face and the moon looks thin and metalic.

He looks like he is landing on the battlefield to cause havok.

Aaaaand we get this wonky model.

I personally like the Teclis model, though I get what you’re saying.

The only thing that really bothers me about the Teclis model is that his scabbard is on the same side as his sword hand.. that’s more impractical than any cow helmet. I’m sorry to everyone who did not notice this before I pointed it out.
