The straight one that comes to my mind is, in the case there's a TOW tournament there, no support for the legacy factions that could have been played otherwise.
Then surely other tournament organisers who are less strict will grow in popularity? Im not a tournament guy but ive heard the tournament consensus is legacy factions are included in non GW events. Id imagine it will lead to frustration and someone who covers the same area might start something new to appease the community.

Not hippos but a more literal 'river horse'.

Done. I personally think you could have done more asking about the armies, like different questions for the ones you already own, the ones you want to collect now that you have a second chance, why so, etc...
What do you plan to do with this information? Do you have a channel?Thank you! Apologies I ought to have spent more time fleshing it out. They are definitely things I will look into in the future though!
I created the survey for a few reasons.
1) Generally intrigue into whether the old world is raching many new players or mainly returning, in addition to what army popularity is which once published might be helpful for any stats shows etc that there may be as it gives people a rough idea of playerbases. This is subject to the amount of data and reach of the survey though for accuracy.
2) As someone who is personally new to The Old World I wanted to start some introductory videos on the world and lore of the game for both new and old players and help foster a welcoming community. I wanted to get an idea of what sort of armies people are interested in and the types of videos the community find engaging so hopefully I can make some content which is beneficial to as many folk as possible.
I hope that has helped! Thank you again for completing the survey.

Hello!
I am conducting a survey on The Old World, primarily to gauge the types of people interested (Returning or new), Army popularity, and knowledge of the setting. I would really appreciate any responses to the survey. Id happily share results if it is of interest to the forum?

If you were to make completely random guesses and wild speculation about both these things, what would they be?
I dont think Skaven are going to change, they will likely just be enhanced in character and quality like the underworlds sets

How do we summon Whitefang these days; is it the Sotek way, the Orion way, or like a Bretonnian calling back his hunting falcon?
Whitefang has retreated to the old world forum these days. He is now an oldworld lore guy.

Tbh the only rumour sources I trust are whitefang and valrak. Dont see any reason to put some confidence in anyone else.
Valrak doesn't really comment on AOS stuff though. A bit of old world but thats it other than 40k. He gets stuff wrong too though. Its all speculation and rumours until its shown at the end of the day.

Yes, Nagash ruined everything by inventing necromancy, killing the nehekharans, and raising all their dead as the tomb kings, and he is personally responsible for those atrocities. BUT Nagash invented necromancy by combining the mortuary cults study of life extending and soul manipulating rituals with dark magic learned from captive dark elves, and he wouldn't have been able to do that in the first place without having those mortuary cult traditions to build on, which draws a direct line back to Settra, who ordered the creation of the mortuary cults and their elevation over the other priestly orders of nehekhara in an attempt to defy his own death. Without Settra's fear of death there would be no mortuary cult and no Nagash.
And it goes further than that - in order to usurp the authority of any who would come after him, Settra ordered that the firstborn of the ruling houses of Nehekhara would no longer inherit rulership, but must instead be given over to the mortuary cult to become priests, with the secondborn inheriting power not as true heirs but as stewerds waiting for Settra's eventual return. Without Settra's selfishness, Nagash would never have been a priest to begin with. Partially because he never would have been born in the first place due to different lines of succession and marriage and what not in a firstborn-inheritance alternate Nehekharan timeline, but even ignoring that Nagash as firstborn would have been king to begin with - still a villain, but never having studying the arcane to begin with, and not needing to resort to any extremes to gain power. He simply would have been another tyrannical king of khemri in a long line of similar tyrants, a threat to his people and his neighbors but not to the entire world.
So yeah, Nagash is responsible for the ruin of Nehekhara, but Nagash would never have been Nagash had Settra not set his people down the road of defying death in the first place. Nagash is Settra's legacy, the inexorable doom that Settra cursed his Empire to suffer through his selfishness and pride.
Thank you that makes alot more sense!!

Perhaps the reason the Bretonnians are so heavily focused is someone thinks they can angle them into the "Space marine headspace" and reap the sales, it is a bit odd now you mention it how little we really have about the Tomb kings relatively.
And yeah, the Liche priests are responsible for how things shook out somewhat, why mummies are different to skellies for example, and their ranks did include Nagash for a long while, but the Nekherans returning to unlife is all Nagash ultimately.Just wait for games workshop's next game set 100 years before the old world in which half the bretonians turn traitor, 'Warhammer: The Duke of Dukedoms'.
Dan Abnett is already writing away on the first of the next 63 warhammer novels.

So in the article they state the liche priests are at fault for the way the tomb kings gained immortality and not waking to their verdant lands.
Am I wrong for thinking it was mostly Nagash who ruined the lands and initiated the resurrections when he took over, and gained revenge for being kicked out? I may be wrong though.
Additionally I feel like these articles focus a lot more on Bretonnians and little on the tomb kings? I would like to see more about their design process and inspiration, I believe they have alot more depth to them than they make out.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got a harbinger for the Skaven at the end to signal in the new edition, similar to how we got Kroak and Kragnos at the end of 2nd edition and then got massive orruk and seraphon releases in 3rd
