Let's see, in the art the Stonemage pretty much is always shown somewhere in the background. And as it's a command ability - it might be that he just enables other units to strike almighty blows.

The Stonemage at least has some proper armour though on his model, so it could be that he is a kind of Loremaster type. Would also be a nice bow to the old HE and would fit with the Ymetrica aelimentiri being the "warriors" among the elemental sects.

The stonemage has taken a bit of a backseat in the artwork I agree, and I do also agree that Almighty blow could refer to an aura like buff, if that was the case though it does mean the stoneage will have to get somewhat close still so it could buff the unit. still, I just thought it worth putting forward my line of thinking as if it was a hybrid hero it would mean the lumineth have 1 full caster in the Scinari, 1 full melee mosnter in the spirit of thre mountain and then the stonemage acting as the hybrid creating a much better hero balance and matching the way the named heroes are being presented, Teclis full mage, Alavalnor as pure melee and Eltharion described as a hybrid.

Because I just found out about that: The Scinari Cathaller is also 99% a Wizard, because she can cast "Arcane Bolt".

Not meaning that this changes necessarily the rest of your analysis in your previous post that I'm quoting, just thought this might be interesting for us all, bereft of any real news that we are right now.

I think the stonemage could be like the vampire lord as a hybrid fighter/caster as in the battle report the stonemage was the general with the command ability "almighty blow". Not the title of a command ability for hanging back away from a fight.

Sculpted it myself out of 1 part greenstuff, 2 parts Millliput.  Took three tries to get the right size, as most were too big.

thanks for the reply, that just makes your whole project even better.

Welp, I will need lots of practice if I want to do my conversion idea now. back to the drawing board.

I could see Sylvaneth fitting as well, afterall the Lore we got for the Lumineth emphasized their connection to the Land itself and to the Spirits that reside within.
If I remember correctly the Sylvaneth have some Allegiance Ability which is  connected to the Landscape:  "Places of Arcane Power" or something like that.  -  Also the Sylvaneth do not have many Allies at the Moment so from GW's perpective: More Allies = more in between Faction impulse purchases, may seem likely.
Alarielle and Teclis in the same Army anyone? :D

Oh that power combo of Teclis and Alarielle would be painful. but I agree sylvaneth would be a wonderful choice. and give me a reason to buy some after I picked up the book then ignored it.

I am very interested to see what our Allies table looks like and what sorts of options that brings.

As order we should get stormcast, and cities of sigmar, and in the storyline teclis and morathi were talking so we may also get daughters of khaine. I don't think we will get idoneth just due to the antagonasim between the clash of identites. we may also get seraphon but I don't think anything else realy fits.

The Warcry cards show hammer bros without helmets. Why didnt Gw showed those as well. Would have reduced the backlash from those that didnt like it.

I found this on the warhammer community page in the Ultimate artisans article on the lumineth, so it was released after they showed the stoneguard off in the reveal video, so I would suspect it may be a 1 per box style arrangement.

I hear there are a lot of spoiled images of rules etc. Would anybody be able to PM them to me? Or maybe they are somehwere in this very long post where I could find them?

the warcry rules were spoiled back on page 84 but they have since been deleted by the server. however the sidebar of the white dwarf article is viewable at https://spikeybits.com/2020/05/teclis-lumineth-realm-lord-rules-teasers-spotted.html

ye I suppose but currently at 10 warscrolls... its a tiny faction. Would seem quite synergistic to just have a dual kit with the elite infantry, add another generic hero and a warmachine or monster affiliated with one of the other 3 "paths". Such an easy way to basically double the faction and ensure you have space for interesting battallions and some choice in listbuilding etc. I wouldn't be overly surprised if that still turns out to be the case actually but given the now very clear focus on mountain in the WD, this new book etc it does indeed seem like the release is only this faction..

anyways I know this has been covered before.. :)

Not a problem, I think we all feel this frustration slightly about the faction. but at least what we have is cool, and besides, we can always convert what we want.

its more baffling that Stoneguard is not a dual kit with e.g. some sort of swordmasters... would seem like such an obvious thing, different hats, different weapons, done, one more faction aside from Mountain pretty much there...

It's possible they wanted to break away from the sterotype slightly, since the Asur were always associated with the sword, from the sword of khaine, to sunfang and the fangsword and ultimately as these are not Asur they also wanted to break the weapon mould hence they have two types of hammer?

Warcry units are absolutely no indication of the full range.  For instance where’s the Akhelian Allopex in Warcry? Akhelian King?

Oh, I would be overjoyed to be proven wrong on this matter, but for the moment I will hold my horses and be content with what I can see at the moment. I do think you are right though, there must be at least one more kit but I am ok if there is not

I agree the picture looked like there could plausibly be something there, but we have the full list from the battle report this was taken from so that seems to shut the door on that angle.

I do now think that yes, there is nothing left to be seen within the range. the list of units for warcry sealed that IMO. still, i'm not dissapointed with what we have, I may just need to rewrite the backstory for my army and main characters.

Wow, the endless spells look very cool!

Someone on dakkadakka just said that he received the WD issue way ahead of time, and that there are 11 options for Warcry: Scinari Cathallar, Alarith Stonemage, Steedmaster, High Sentinel, High Warden, Truestone Seneschal, Vanari Dawnrider, Vanari Auralan Sentinel, Vanari Auralan Warden, Alarith stoneguard with diamond pickhammer, Alarith Stoneguard with stone mallet. I imagine that the Steedmaster may be the name for the leader of the dawnriders and the Truestone Seneschal may be the name for the leader of the stoneguard.

Regarding the very blurry pic of the battle report, I already had my fair share of doubt when uploading it. Now that we have seen part of the content of the battle report, even more so. Maybe we've seen the full range by now, who knows. I'm still trying to process everything we've seen in these past few hours. We've gone from no news to an avalanche (pun intended) of rules, abilities, models, and points...

lots of names there that look very interesting, my kudos to the person who got the WD ahead of time.

That pic seems to be for the battle report though,  and we now know there isn't anything new in that...

I know, thats why I was as disapointed as I was when I saw the army list.  yet something in that image within the red circle at the back does look fundementaly different to what we have already seen.

  14. There was an image on P77 of this forum from the white dwarf that showed a lumineth battleline against slaves and there was a very bizzare white shape that looked like a helmet and some pennants that did not match anything we were shown so far.  (on the image it was behind Eltharion) thats my basis on there being at least 1 more unit but I could be wrong.

  15. Interesting, 220pts is reasonable through considering everything we have seen for eltharion.  In fact the points seem average in terms of what the unit does and how much it costs.

I finally worked out what was bugging me about this image, and having seen the larger version on reddit (copy below) its the lack of anything new, and even no endless spells for us to puzzle over. oh well.

  16. By my reckoning we have seen around 2/3rds of the lumineth range to date, with the endless spells this week, and possibly some more heroes I think we will have the complete range. There definitely seems to be at least 1-2 hidden things if the white dwarf image (as low quality as it is) is anything to go by.

  17. To me tyrion embodied all that a warrior should be, the paragon of battle and chivalry, and that's why I always liked him since he embodied the ideals that I myself aspire too. The end times gave him the fall of a paragon and broke his spirit, I feel they missed the redemption opportunity however when they brought him back to life in book 5 as they never delved into detail about tyrion after his resurrection. That was their biggest missed opportunity IMO. And I suspect you are right with your first question koradrel. By making sigmar the paragon of the setting tyrion has no place at the moment and needs re-defining to fit the new world.

Looking through all my favourite characters I seem to have a preference for the knightly paragon, from prince tyrion, to artoria pendragon and aragon, I do seem to prefer the noble paragon. I blame reading le morte de arthur so much.
