You are wrong. "Within 6 inches" includes "6 inches away". Here is the relevant part from the Core Rules:

"[...]So, for example, a unit is within 12" of another unit as long as any model from one unit is 12" or less from any model from the other unit[...]"

    (https://www.games-workshop.com/resources/PDF/AoS_Rulesheets/ENG_AoSSW_Rules_booklet_web.pdf, page 2)

You are absolutely right about this. Even without the actual rules at hand, you provided an intuitive and elegant explanation to the problem. Another person voting you down without even discussing your argument shows that you left no real room for a counter argument.

Your intuition is correct. If an "Ambush" ability states that the unit has to be wholly within 6 inches of the battlefield edge, the following Designers' Commentary clarifies the meaning of it:

"[...]A: A model is wholly within a certain distance if every part of its base is within the stated distance[...]"

    (https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/8f9bd00c.pdf, page 3)

In combination with the quotation about "within" above we can see that "wholly within 6 inches of the battlefield edge" means that one point of the models circular base can be exactly 6 inches away from the battlefield edge. Lets put the model on a line with the objective and let the line be perpendicular to the battlefield edge. Since in your example the center of the objective is 12 inches away from the battlefield edge, it means that it is now exatly 6 inches away from the "6 inch point" of the models base we discussed beforehand. Since "exaclty 6 inches away" is included in "within 6 inches", the model is now within "capturing distance" of the objective.

I am sorry that multiple people were trying to tell you that you are wrong and did so without any backup from the rules. We should always be wary when people speak from intuition alone and fail or not even try to connect their statement with the actual rules of the game.

I hope my explanation is clear and that you can make use of this knowledge during your future games.

    Thank you!!!

It’s a bit complicated. Teclis found “soul particles” over a month long period, he then asked Iliatha to make a living cloned body of someone who looked similar to Eltharion and commissioned a special armour in Syar. The particles were summoned by Teclis into the clonedbody, not the armour, but the body turned to dust. Over the years he tried it with several other cloned bodies, but so far they always turn to dust.

Eltharion now seems to be one entity within the armour.

    Cool background for the model.

    Thank you!

I think the problem with most monsters, like a Ghorgon, is not that they can't hold an objective, but that they can't clear horde units (or chaff) either to make way for your troops to go for the objective.

So most (non-hero) monsters are not good for either role other than be cool looking pieces on the table.

That´s the main problem of most of the monsters. Being a "single model unit" it´s great to control the movement of enemy units, but they´re just support units unable to control objetives.

This is the list. My idea it´s to play the Knight of Shrouds with the 15 Hexwraiths on my strong flank, with one Black Coach at each side, and use the Chainrasp to control the movement phase as screens. Banshees using rapid deployment with the spirit torment as a glass cannon and the reapers as main unit with the Guardian of Souls casting shademist over them.

I know that NH are not on their best moment, so the list is "friendly", but I want to optimize the Hexbus... not for the next ETC but maybe for some local tournaments.

Ideas to play arround? Maybe this weekend I can make an article about the unit.

I have thought about vampirates several times and from just a model perspective I would dive into these Punga minis. Love these sculpts. 8084319_ScreenShot2020-04-12at1_38_41PM.png.dc0879287b2e2a5ecf2a6a77d026d716.png

    Very cool models.

In thingiverse and in Print Your Monster you can find some models if you have a 3D Printer.

I remember there was a rumour after Silver Tower that the next planned expansion was supposed to be an undead setting - Hammerhal was a more of a quick expansion with no unique models. Possibly thats always been the plan but Blackstone had to come out for 40k first? It would fit with the current focus on Death and the Necro-quake etc..

Maybe for linking Aos 2.0. with AoS 3.0? Another campaign/UD Battletome with the Quest as "micro-history".

    Silent People or Vampires...or both

    Lost Bloodlines of Warhammer Fantasy

"The Mahtmasi are a lost bloodline created by Maatmeses, the Vizier and Grand Chancellor of Lahmia. Maatmeses was a corpulent, corrupt, hedonist who would help himself to the Queen Neferata's treasury. He was eventually found out before the fall of Lahmia and escaped to the desert where he knew he wouldn't be pursued. In the desert his fat, and flesh were eaten alive by carrion swarms. He eventually found tribes of warrior in Araby which he converted to his servants, and a few to his children. "Mahtamasi" means children of death. They are insect-like in both appearance and behavior. They cooperate in tribe like units to fulfill the desires of Maatmeses. They enjoy working as mercenaries. And overall just enjoy killing the living and devouring them. They are insane. And they feed like the Strigoi. They are great assassins and wear can wear face-scarfs and hoods to pass as humans."

    That will be cool.

I thought about something similar but I do not have any experience with Slaanesh.

I´m not sure about it. When I won my place for the ETC Spanish Team, I was using Slaanesh... but the good one.

Now I think we need to start testing strange things. Beast are... well, they´re haha. But the good units are not battlelines (and with the GH2020...).

I think that I will test that list in august for a battlereport for my Patreon (I will open it during the next week, I´m finishing with the sponsors etc...).

Who knows. Maybe it´s the new OP Slaanesh list... haha But I think StD will be better. We need to wait until the PDFs changes.

Regarding The Royal Mordants, I play it in Blisterskin and the options offered by a pack of 40 Ghouls able to move 16" are just great. I feel 12 Flayers is pushing it, they are only range 1 in melee and 50mm bases. Moreover, I never felt they needed the double move (But I play them in Blisterskin with Deranged Transformation and/or Spectral Host). I could see it used on a small Flayers squad to assassinate a key hero if a small opening presents itself, but a squad of 9-12 wouldn't be able to fit in a "small" opening ^^.

This battalion can also help the Horrors you are expected to take, they have never been cheaper and pack a serious punch with a Ghoul King around, in Mordants, they gain the mobility to choose their targets.

All in all, this battalion offers options the others cannot. And it is a lot of fun to play !

Yep, Royal Mordants it´s my favourite option.
