Including the murknob brings a ward against spells so a little added protection and an additional unit of hobgrotts to feed into his egomaniak. The 2nd shaman is probably not required but needed something to fill the warlord requirements, but may find some spell casting after the first round once guttrippaz are no longer a target doesn’t feel necessary to cast poison on a boltboyz MSU but who knows. Can’t choose smelly’un (not added yet) but would probably go that route and give the vulcha loud’un.

    Unfortunatly the list is a 6 drop so may not necessarily always get the 2nd turn for the counter punch and early double turn.

    I think only one mount gets a mount trait, unless you 'buy' a second with Warlord.

  2. Dunno I feel like marauders are better than all cultists combined. Iron golems are decent for tanking and untamed beasts are good for quick objective capture. But you don't need marks on untamed beasts to do that and reinforcing them is pointless as they do 0 damage and won't live a round of combat. 

    I think this white dwarf update was needed. But at the end of the day, cultists and Co should have had this stuff from day one, at worst the first faq. The fact that this is what we have got after the books been out what, a year now? Is a bit ****** :P Also why didn't the fomoroid and Sphiranx not get marks? Mind-boggling.

  3. Just to derail, and as I'm probably getting a reputation at this point for asking stupid questions...

     

    Can ravagers pick from the universal traits as well when picking for each hero? The writing says If your general is not a DAEMON PRINCE, you can pick 1 command trait for up to 5 different friendly RAVAGERS HEROES (excluding DAEMON PRINCES) in addition to the command trait your general can have. 

    This doesn't state pick one ravagers Command Trait.

    I guess I'm holding out hope because we still don't have individual kits for Warriors, Knights, and Crack Lord. Maybe when they get around to releasing those (where they obviously already have the molds ready to go) we can see that paired with a new tome. 

    IDK, I guess what we got is Tzeentch Marked Iron Golems as a good battleline choice for holding objectives. Maybe incentive to go with hordes of cheap cultists to MSU area control the table. And the two new battle tactics will make it easier to score 5 per game. The battalions help reduce drops. 

    Blah. Just more reason to play a passive, defensive game aimed at controlling two objectives all game and scoring 5 battle tactics, all whilst your more deadly opponent tries to kill your stubborn units. That's just not fun for anyone. 

    Yeah tbf your not wrong with the last bit :/ Wont tzeentch marked Iron golems pretty much always be a better choice than warriors now? Between coherency and just generally having bad weapon profiles they don't do any damage so survivability is there only thing. Iron golems will keep the plus 1 to save under 10 units and are much cheaper.

    Edit: Well I guess warriors have 2 wounds each but your definitely paying for it.

    Tbf since I started playing those two are the only white dwarf updates I've seen, and SOB are already really good and aren't in need of rules rewrites haha I expected just some battle tactics and battalions for them.

     

    You're not wrong that I've totally hyped myself up for this, but my best friend is a stormcast player who keeps sending me pictures of the ballista crew and saying how sharp there sextants are 😜

    As could be expected looking at SoB WD changes we got strategy, tactic and battalions, and Mark of Chaos patch as extra. I honestly don't know why people were hoping for some indepth rewrite, there lies road to dissapointment.

    Well alot of our stuff needs a good rewrite but probably doesn't warrant a full book release to fix, so a few pages in white dwarf could have really helped us out. Now we probably won't get a new book for another year and a half. This has led me to feelings of disappointment :P

    Also cultists are all absolutely ass, having access to marks won't change that imo. Pretty much our whole army barring Archaon has no good rend and no good MW output, so if everything goes the new stormcast route giving things 3 saves we won't kill anything, and to top that off, the thing we was good at was staying alive and again if the stormcast book is anything to go by everything gets rend now so yeah.

    What Enoby said was a brilliant write up about the army at the moment, and i just don't see us getting fixed any time soon. This white dwarf was kinda my last hope haha.

  8. Ah yeah I get what you mean. Tbf I think varanguard could do with just getting the blood knights treatment as well regarding weapons. Lance and demonblade in one profile but rend and damage changes on the charge. Keep the demonblade as is regarding 6s but maybe if they felt wild change it to 6s do MW on wounds if they don't change the slaanesh mark.  

    Have the chaos knights do the same with there lances but keep the Ensorcelled weapons on them. That way all three weapons are still represented, but varanguard are still obviously superior.

     

    Also just found out the stromcast ballista CREW have rend on there melee weapons 😜 what the hell are our chaos warriors swords made of?? Wood??

    Yeah i totally agree with you, well said. I also think our chaos chosen units should be on par with the SCE elite units. I'd argue that it's harder to become a Chaos chosen than be cherry picked by sigmar :P same goes for our heroes really barring Archaeon and the Crackerjack they are all pretty squishy, we definitely don't have a hammer wielding maniac capable of 4 damage swings :P

    My biggest annoyance (and this is me probably being petty :P) is the fact that the Hounds pulling it have 6 attacks! Hit and wound on 3s! And have -2 rend! And then we've got our most elite soldiers the varanguard who are riding on steroid buffed ripped horses with teeth the size of swords hitting on 4s 3s and 0 rend haha.

    I mean if the new start collecting box knights where put into a box by themselves with weapon options people would buy them. Same for the warriors.

    I just checked my lil points book, blood knights are only 195 for 5 :o

Give the knights the statline for ensorcelled and +1 damage/-1 rend on the charge, a 3+ save, and if I'm being really greedy the mortal wound ability from ruinbringers. Then make them the same cost as blood knights and I think we'd be rolling. 

     

    If knights where like this I would be SOOO happy.

    It's going to be more about mortal wound defense than buffing normal saves, I think.  Warrior blob can be 5+/6+/6+ vs. mortals with general's aura near shrine. Kark Lord general with amulet of destiny near shrine can be 5+/5+/6+/6+ vs mortals.

    No way is that ward save stacking sticking around, there's no point playing games using it.

I am afraid there are some misconceptions. The Warscroll-Builder provides you with most important information. Check out the bottom summary. It informs you about how many artifacts, allies and so on you are allowed to take for the selected battle size. You currently have 6/5 heroes and 3/2 artifacts (althrough it is worth noting that for some weird reason the app shows 3/1, most propably because you didn't selected Artifact as your additional Enchancement).

    As for the List: Lord on Manticore looks fine, I played it in a similar fashion. From my experience you might consider another spell because the Warscroll one and the Whispers are quite similar (althrough both have differnt purpose, one beeing pure damage and the other more utility). Your footslogging CSL looks like a bit of an Overkill. A 5 wounds hero with Arcane Tome may attract more shooting than you'd like to. Also keep in mind that the Spiketounge Curse can easily kill your own hero in many cases. I am not 100% sure about bloodhounds outside of Khorne but as I never played them I might underestimate them. DP of Khorne is always nice. I have to check out the other Ravagers Stuff tbh because I don't remember all the Artifact Rules here. 

    Btw it is way easier for us to comment on your list when you copypaste it as plain text. Screenshots are harder to comment/edit.

    I've come to learn that the app is very unreliable when it comes to the rules haha. The GHB states in a 2000 point game you can have 1-6 heroes. The reason I have 3 artefacts is 1 just because, 2 for the Warlord battalion and 3 for the Command entourage.

     

    I know having the Arcane tome on lil wiz is risky, but my thought process behind it is, if I'm facing a shooting army as slaves I've probably lost anyway 😛 also the artefacts in general for Ravagers are pretty terrible, I thought with having the endless spell it could be helpful casting 2 spells because due to his Command Trait he can reroll a failed cast role once per phase. Spike tongue curse was just a random pick really, if the enemies close enough for him to use it, he's probably in trouble anyway and if he does fail his cast I can reroll it cause of his Trait.

  16. I'm just awful at list building, but I'm trying not to rely to much on using online lists as it's all I've ever really used when I play. I know this isn't probably competitive in anyway (dunno if it's even legal :p) I've made the list mostly using units I really like (except the exalted hero, what a genuine piece of ****** hero he his but I needed a 6th). Anything that could be improved without changing the whole list? Mostly wanting to know if the traits and artefacts are good choices.
