They did say they were working how to allow people to get limited edition miniatures since all events of all types have been cancelled, so one way or another...

By the way it’s not clear if the preview will be available on Twitch or other channel? Or we just need to refresh the blog for an hour like crazy people?? 😂😂😂

    https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/03/22/new-reveals-incoming/

Here they said it will first be available on Twitch and shortly after that on WarCom

Razordon with 1 wound seems...very strange? Even gryph hounds have 3 apiece

If you take a unit in has 3 skink handlers with 1 wound and 1 razordon which has 3 wounds instead as far as I can see

So there you have it, thanks to me having an article that I need to have written by this afternoon that I really can't face doing until the last minute I have scientifically proven why the contents of this box is as it is. As for a lack of synergy, personally I think outside of people that like to fetishise spreadsheets that doesn't hugely matter to most people and almost certainly not Gloomspite Gitz players/collectors!

Just to clarify I am ok with the models inside, sure they could be better (Loonboss on Giant Cave Squig would have been possible as the SC Primaris Space Wolves box also came with a character that was only available in the Tooth and Claw box before that) but thats fine. I just think that the price point of 80€ (IF those prices are real, I couldn't find them anywhere else) is too much when nearly all other start collecting sets have either more stuff inside or a lower price point, still I am happy about any savings I can get on my Gitz

Wouldn't be super suprising from the perspective that it is all new models. (All kits from 2019) while the seraphon box has models that are 20 years old.

But on the flip side, it's the least amount of plastic sprues too.

Discount off retail is certainly not the only consideration. For each army there are only certain units that are really up for considering, any they may not add up to a certain %.  .

Sure if there where no other models that would be fine but GsG have many other models new and old all in plastic and the 3 inside don't even have any real synergy together so I really don't know what they thought

Price lists for the Start Collecting boxes:

    Skinks 80€

    Gloomspite Gits 80€

    Daughters of Khaine 70€

if those prices are true Gloomspite Gitz would have one of the worst savings with £20 only exceeded by demons of slaanesh with £18.5

I have consulted the stars, read the tea leaves, looked into the crystal ball and concluded lizards are coming tonight.

(Disclaimer: it was completely overcast so saw no stars, used a tea bag so there were no leaves and I don't have a crystal ball so used a magic 8 ball. It said - try again later.)

Well looking over what future releases we know about Seraphon should be coming today or next week, unless they throw in something we didn't know about (like the Valhallan) the only thing that should be coming soon is the rest of the Sisters of Battle stuff (PA6 shouldn't be this soon as they didn't show Ghazghkull yet)

I do really like the models, but the two handed mace looks like they glued an ardboy mace to the end of a brute smasher as an afterthought, or to save sculpting time. It just looks amaturish, not what I expect from GW.  . I’ll probably be cutting that off.

Well to me that seems like just something orks would do, just take a weapon lying around and put it on your weapon to make it longer so I like it

    Have fun!

The old world alliance team should be a blood bowl thing as those card packs are also called team card pack

Maybe a teaser like team to show us what they will support with The Old World?

Or a team in which you can mix different other factions?

    There are stages, right?

Stage 1: Rules exist but there is no model.  This one existed back in t WFB but hasn't really ever been a thing in AoS.  Not an issue.

Stage 2: Models exist, in an outdated format.  Finecast or metal.  Are slowly but surely all being either phased out of the rules, or replaced like-for-like.

Stage 3: Models exist, in old plastics that are aesthetically out of date.  Some of these are being phased out of the rules or replaced like-for-like, but others are stubbornly resisting and staying in the active lineup.

Stage 4: New rules, new model kit.  This is almost uncharted territory, when it comes to existing armies (see my exceptions above - SCE, heroes in dual boxes, specialist game poaching, spells/terrain).

Stage 1 hasn't been a thing since AoS started.  Stage 2 and 3 replacements happen.  Stage 4 is, I think, probably going to have to start happening now that GHB upgrades are done, but hasn't really been a thing yet.

Personally I think that with the battletome cycle completed they will do something like Psychic Awakening in 40k with campaign books in the form of Wrath of the Everchoosen but hopefully with every book coming with an update to the respective armies in the form of new units and not only a single model like in 40k

In 40k its not really bad as most armies already have a sizable selection but AOS really has a problem with tiny units counts in some armies

Khorne had a few kit upgrades in it's last release, although I think it was all moving finecast to plastic. Flesh hounds, skulltaker, Karanak and the herald all got new kits.

Edit: although technically the flesh hounds and karanak were a few months before... But close enough

Karanak and Flesh Hounds where the only new models that weren't the hero/terrain/endless spell combination for new Battletomes as far as I remember

Of course Gloomspite Gitz, Slaves to Darkness and Hedonite of Slaanesh all got new stuff but that was basically like a complete restart as they where pretty much dead before so I count them to the new armies with Nighthaunt, Ossiarch Bonereapers and Lumineth Realmlords

So if you don't count the single models as part of the Battletome releases no army (except Khorne) got anything new/remade since their initial release

Of course those heroes are great but it just shows how no one got any new units or anything else except a hero

So I hope after this whole Battletome cycle is over other armies are going to get at least some updates

So apparently the Fyreslayers Warcry cards are in this months White Dwarf

That seems like they just forgot they existed until it was too late to print the cards (which wouldn't surprise me)

Oh, man finally Warcry cards for the rest of my armies!

Wait...no Fyreslayers? literally the last battletome army with no card pack?

The only thing I could think of that could explain this, is if they get new models sometime soon so GW is waiting for that to release the cards (or they just forgot to put them in the preview)

Or GW is just GW and does whatever it wants

You'd better believe FEC and Skaven will be getting new SC! boxes with the new heroes. They'll probably do that for most of them.

    This.

after they split Shadowspear into two Start Collecting boxes, I figured that’s how they’ll release the heroes later, by splitting the dual army boxes into Start Collecting boxes instead.
-Gloomspite Gitz, Ogors and Bonereapers don’t have a start collecting.
-Flesh Eater Courts & Sylvaneth I wouldn’t be surprised if gw wanted to take the monsters out of their current ones as the individual monsters probably aren’t selling anymore (that I suspect was also related to why they upped the price on all the start collecting boxes).
-Skaven wouldn’t surprise me if they eventually had one for each clan.

Shadowspear (and the original AOS starter) are different in that they are monopose units that are all on one sprue so they had to choose to either throw away that mold or sell all of it in one box which turned into the start collecting sets.

But it could still happen as the new Space Wolves Start Collecting has the Character from Tooth and Claw in it and they also had another SC before which got replaced.

Or they just get released on their own like the Spiritseer and the Primaris Lieutenant from Wake the Dead and the Cryptek from Forgebane

In the end GW did everything before so we have no idea what could happen (Personally I think that the factions without a SC will get a new one with their hero but Skaven, FEC and Sylvaneth will stay the same)

Why should only Order and Death get their gods? (Alarielle, Nagash, now Teclis and probably Tyrion)

Because the chaos gods are much stronger than the "normal" gods, so if they ever appear as a kind of model it could only be a tiny fraction of a shard of them which we already kind of have with the greater demon models
