  2. My prediction in regards to death.

THIS WILL ALL BE ABOUT KATAKROS. GW will push him as the new focal point of death.

He will succeed in destroying/defeating Archaon and take the eight points allowing him to attack all realms. The Eightpoints will be renamed something Bonereapery and become the new capital of death. Now i think about it Broken Realms Katakros could be a thing with a wave of new OBR units, would be roughly 2 years after the initial release. Nagash although without all his power may do something to help this and bring about his return, maybe since Katakros is Nagash's top general and right hand man.

Just think how strange it was that the one off Wrath of the Everchosen book set all this up pre-broken realms

I thought it was Nagash, rather than Sigmar, personally.

I did at first but he basically mentions Nagash by name calling him "The Necromancer" so if that is who he meant he would have said that i imagine. Also the use of eternal to describe stormcast eternals seems about right. If he is working with Morathi she has just taken one of Sigamrs cities which might be part of their grander initiative/plan.

If you read all the story the manners of the shadow-lord is more like an animal, growling and being ready to attack their prey. That is clearly a vampire description.

I disagree. I think Malerion is half dragon/demon/beast and the description fits well. I would not describe a vampire as a "winged monstrosity" and i dont think that getting skaven to assassinate sigmar (seemingly) would be something they would do, at all.

I know people want an option to play anti-Nagash ghost-bois I hope we can also get an option to also play Nagash in Nighthaunt as well.

It would feel weird. As the literal embodiment of Death you think from a narrative perspective it should happen, and maybe it will someday.

Has anyone ever tried running 80 Mortek guard? I been working on 60 for the last month and just finished. Thinking of Adding another box so I’ll have 40 with Spears and two units of 20 with swords. I expect I will rarely run all 80, but it sure looks cool.

Sounds to me you need to embrace the flame and the meme that is Crematorians. Sure is fun at 80 Mortek Guard.

  7. With the entire new Slaanesh range and DoK releasing at once we will get a good idea if GW is really playing catch-up with any success by the gap between now and Lumineths wave 2/BR Teclis. I think it is possible it will come around as quickly as the end of March.

  8. Three pretty simple changes that i would like to see:

More reasons to choose named heroes as generals. Sometimes there is a strong incentive such as Katakros in Bonereapers, he generates 3 extra RDP if he is the general. We need more stuff like this.

Heroes are harder to snipe. Either something to increase survivability at range or make them harder to target, a lot of room here to find something.

Initiative is not random. I like the double turn, i like the swing it can bring to games but there is room here for a more strategic element to be introduced especially for the 1st turn. The player with the smaller army (by points) gets to decide first player? You could effectively bet points to try and get the initiative instead of trying to get as close to 2000 as possible.

  9. The one thing you can not knock GW for is the ever more impressive models, they are truly unrivaled and very rarely miss the mark. The ones that dont work are at least bold and show they are willing to try new sculpt ideas. Cant wait to see the rest of Cursed City.

@Samukai, House Valentian is filthy AF... I'm in to it!

Jokes aside, I would love for the Craven King to actually be of some use... let us hope!

It seems likely that when Nighthaunt inevitably get subfactions that some would be focused on named heroes, we can indeed hope!

I kind of want to make another one now damn it.

  11. Since there is some talk about the future of Nighthaunt and potential subfactions i made two a while back to experiment with that very idea. When testing the 'Wave of Terror' ability was removed from the game, overall it was a boost to the power level for sure with these new allegiance abilties but it was not unreasonable, i won slightly more than i lost if memory serves.

There are some wording/formatting errors, i will update them and rebalnce them when i get a chance to test a bit more.

  12. Although Katakros is spearheading the invasion (or distraction?), i think some of the other Mortarchs and/or Nagash may be trying to achieve something very specific that we are currently unaware of. Taking the Chaos capital seems too bold even for Nagash, also we know how much he loves his elaborate scheming and deception. The Ossiarch battletome however does make out the Bonereapers to be (in terms of a conventional army), near invincible. If they really are the seemingly near totally invulnerable, unstoppable force they are said to be now is the time to prove it, especially with the (or at the very least one of) greatest Generals ever.

On a personal note Chaos winning maintains the status quo pretty much which is not very interesting. Death could rise as the true big bad of the Age of Sigmar which would have major repercussions going forward.

  13. With the additional attack in the Legions of Nagash allegiance they are for sure worth the points, especially with them now being healed for a flat 3 by Arkhan and Nagash. In other Legions and Bonereapers you need a specific strategy to justify them.

  14. Most curious with GW teasing Teclis and the new faction before talking about the Wrath of the Everchosen game supplement. Reinforces my idea that at the height of the battle of Varanspire between Katakros and Archaon, Teclis and his army will intervene and either ally with the Bonereapers (at least for now) to deliver a decisive blow to Chaos, or take Varanspire himself.
