The coming of King Trugg made me think of the other destruction Kings and suddenly the idea of the
AoS version of the Christmas carol “We Three Kings” came to me.

    So this happened...

    🎶Three Twisted Kings🎶

    (sung to 'We Three Kings')

King Brodd of the Gargants, vengeance in sight,
Obelisk wielded, he joins in the fight.
    Almighty stomping, battlefield shaking,
Foes to be crushing, revenge to be taking.

    (Chorus) Ohhhh,
Bad Moon above, guiding the fray,
Three twisted kings will have their say.
    Loonking, Gargants, and Troggoth might,
Bound by Da Moon on this fateful night.

    (Chorus)

Loonking Skragrott, small yet so sly,
Moon Onna Stikk, held up to the sky.
The Loonking's Entreaty, guiding Da Moon,
Under its glow, his Gitz bring the doom.

    (Chorus)

King Trugg awakens, fierce and so grand,
Ironshell Club clenched in his hand.
    Leystone malfunction, migraine rage,
    Wandering leylines, a king’s rampage.

    (Chorus)

Three kings diverse, yet under one boon,
Guided eternal by the shifting Bad Moon.
Though each seeks his own, in this dark affair,
Bound by Da Bad Moon, that hangs in the air.

    Ohhhhhhhhhhh,
Bad Moon leavin, dawn drawing near,
But it’s madcap pull, will always be here,
Loonking, and Gargants, and Troggoth might,
Will follow Da Moon, night after night.

    —-
And so, King Brodd, Skragrott the Loonking, and King Trugg move under the twisted, leering faces of Da Bad Moon. Their uneasy alliance a testament to the Moon’s chaotic allure, each vying for its errant blessing.

  2. Keggers TwoButts, Gargant Master-Brewer, has been sitting in my head for the longest time, but now he’s free, ready to roam the mortal realms and keep the cellars of @KingBrodd well stocked.

With the Aleguzzler Gargants once again walking with the Gloomspite Gitz, somebody needs to make the ale to guzzle. Keggers TwoButts, self-styled Gargant Master-Brewer, keeps the other gargants liquored up for the fight with rivers of Ale from his portable still. When asked where he got it, Keggers tells the story of rescuing the famed dwarf brewer-Master Jakkob Bugmansson XI from his crashed Sky-Frigate. The dwarf was so moved he gifted one of his stills to Keggers. When Bugmansson was asked about this he said his vessel was knocked out of the sky by a flung boulder and an unknown Gargant kicked open the side of the crashed frigate and scarpered with everything in the hold. Whatever the truth, it can't be denied Keggers TwoButts makes a powerful and surprisingly tasty Ale.

  3. Though I’ll probably lose friends I wanted to try using dragons in my Zilfin list.

Ironclad and Gunhauler, with Khemist and Endrinmaster onboard, as my first threat. Do the Zilfin move, pop the vortex, Profit. A tale is old as time.

Frigate with Thunderers as my second threat. Fly high, of course, but also naturally fast to be able to snag objectives if opponent is unwary. Lots of guns.

Third threat - Stormdrake guard. Hurl them at the opponent and let them deal with angry flying flame lizards which hopefully split focus away from the other two threats.

The two arkanaut teams are there as early screens and objective grabbers.

Though I like having a fast frigate with thunderers on board as my third threat I’m not sure if the cost of 10 thunderers in a frigate is worth it. At 520 it’s more than an Ironclad!

I’m thinking of dropping it back to 5 thunderers and using the saved 135 points on another hero for the Ironclad - either an Admiral or, more likely, a Navigator. Maybe even Endrinriggers to hitch with the Ironclad and keep it healthy with the Endrinmaster. I think, on average, all up the Ironclad would be repaired 4-5 damage per turn, until the Endrinriggers go down and then it’s 3 damage repaired.

It seems viable and I’m confident it could go first or second and still achieve its goals.

    What say you, brains trust?

I like that there is no longer any awkward terrain measuring going on, however it no longer works for charges as it did before, so it is a give and take kind of deal, although more clear at least.

And yea 2 artifacts is a no go ;) (Unless you are a kraken eater in taker tribe :P)

I’ve always played moves in the move phase and charges as in the charge phase. I never even thought of charges as ‘moves’. More fool me!

and oops! Mixing up my breakers and takers. :)

  5. Our long shanks are getting even longer in the recent FAQ

    Longshanks.JPG.b5102eb703a2fb8a5b4b03aecf754f51.JPG

Mega-gargants can now step over all other models and terrain.

It's a good time to be big :)

Edit - And I think the Gate-Breaker 6+ invulnerable portcullis can be stacked with the Amulet of Destiny 5+ invulnerable save. That would be a sturdy cowled big-un.

How do you behave against strong melee army that sets up first and tells you to go first?

KO has a lot of options to alpha strike the opponent and reduce their ability to hurt you back. As a shooting army if they give you first turn you can do a lot of damage with your guns (and spell in a bottle) and not get any damage back.

If your build isn't about shooting them to death first then you can take objectivess, screen your valuable ships with arkanauts and let your opponent waste a turn clearing screens. Remember, this is a game of objective control not tabling your opponent.

I guess it depends on your army build, but you should have a plan if something doesn't go your way at the start.

KO's real ability isn't GUNS GUNS GUNS, there are far better shooting units than ours. The KO super-power is maneuverability. Your ships can go anywhere, anytime. You can lead your opponent to one side of the board and then fly high away to the other side. You choose where the battles will be fought, not them.

What we need is the "Municipality of the Proletariat" Battletome, with Heroes of the revolution who each take it in turns to be General for a round leading the people in their efforts to throw off the shackles imposed by Sigmar and his armoured enforcers.
