  1. I'd say you can't stop his attack. Karsus' aoe attack is one action. The aoe parts of it are part of the same action. So i think you can play the card, but he'll still get to carry out the rest of his action.

  2. So I'm a new player to Underworlds, and I've started playing in a league.

I know how to play the game now, and whilst I'm not am experienced player, i tend to do well in strategy games and the like. I also have a decent win ratio in Age of Sigmar.

I have some sentimental regret not jumping in with Shadespire when it came out. I bought all the things, but never got started. Because of that, i decided to start at the very beginning for myself in this league, and picked Garrek's Reavers; also because nobody else in the league picked them.

So far though, it feels like i can't really compete. I've played 3 games against Magore's Fiends and 2 games against the Sylvaneth, and I've lost all of them. The biggest thing from my point of view at least is that those warbands seem to have lot more utility and options, whereas mine seem to have not that much.

Do i stand a chance or am i just playing them wrong? My deck consists almost entirely of the faction cards for Garrek's Reavers.

    Cool!

Thanks for bringing our attention to it. I've actually held the book myself but never bought it. If anyone else wanna read the Bretonnia reference then check out pages 88 and 89 in  The Red Feast!

@Bosmer Nightblade, did you discover this by chance or are you an old Bretonnia fan?  Do you perhaps even have a collection? :)

So my brother used to collect Bretonnians when we were growing up, but I've always had a soft spot for them because i like the lore, and I'd really like it if there were a human faction in aos like that just holding out against everything in their own lands.

Noticed it by chance in the book though as I'm a bit of a lore fiend lol and started putting the pieces together.

No thanks.  We have enough stuff to update and new armies on the way.       Tomb Kings and Bretonnians  don't exist,   Greenskins and Gitmob however are in the lore, so they could get a update.

Also people asked GW  about bringing back Tomb Kings at an recent seminar, They bluntly said no and barely acknowledged the question.  So I wouldn't get your hopes up.

I was at wh fest and someone asked about tomb kings. They didn't rule it out at all. Furthermore, Bretonnians can be found referenced in The Red Feast by Gav Thorpe: There's a man in there called Serleon (sir lion) who wears full plate decorated with lions, drinks red wine, speaks a language similar in construct to French, and comes from a "provan" called "Aquita" (in the old world, Aquitaine was a province in Bretonnia).

If people are interested in those stories (plus "Road of Blades", which is a prequel) they're all in the new anthology out this weekend.

And, if you're wondering about reading order, I've done a chronological list here, that I'll be adding to as stories come out (and there are more coming this year, including a second audio drama):

Is the url you linked still up to date? I'm finally getting around to reading spear of shadows and enjoying it. Is there a book 2, or still on the short stories for now?

Just be careful when playing it, if there aren't enough enemies near the warshrine to take the mortal wounds you'll end up shooting your own units

    You're thinking of godswrath battalion.

Godsworn just let's you pile in with a hero in the hero phase to attack big stuff.

  7. Yes i was also shouting "dark crystal!" when they were trying to think of 80s inappropriate kids stuff.

Decaying vulture monsters draining the souls out of an entire race hooked up to their death machines. Jesus Christ lol.

Also, you're getting Slaanesh ALL WRONG dammit. Firstly, the whole thing about being half ****** is that as Slaanesh is a bit 50/50, his/her followers are also meant to be a bit 50/50. But gw hasn't always been consistent with that so there are some things that are all or no ****** for example.

Secondly, the sculpts are meant to be ugly yet elegant at the same time. In the lore, Slaanesh's daemons are meant to appear to mortals to be whatever they desire. But the reality are the gross things you see in the sculpts, that give you a hint of their beauty, ultimately marred by grossness.

So you get seduced by the hot chick, but you don't see that she has claws for hands for example. I'd still hit it tho.....

Well they do have something like a 200 point advantage from what I hear.

I will definitely be going over the contents and adjusting them for demos. Probably adding in the extra easy build Stalkers and Banshees at least.

I think GW has given the stormcast force an advantage on purpose for the kids games to be honest. I mean stormcast are meant to be the hook for younger players, and if their first game is one where they lose, they're maybe less likely to remember it favourably.

So the image that is floating around appears to say:

“If you have 2 or more BT points at the end of your movement phase, you can summon one or more units from the list below onto the battlefield and add them to your army.” (Emphasis mine...)

Yes, can confirm you can summon as many units as you have points for. It goes on to mention summoning multiple units.

  11.  Can you release any sort of narrative info tomorrow? I'd only be attending for this but it's a bit hard to buy tickets for something with no details on what I'm buying. I'm not so bothered by the equivalent comp pack specifics but more about the story you've built and setting, neither of which is dependent on the specifics in the aos2 book.

  12. With the narrative event, i hope the format is different from the last one of this nature. The last one didn't seem to celebrate narrative gaming as a playstyle in its own right, but rather defined it as "not competitive". The way it was designed and how you scored points seemed to be based on doing the opposite of whatever was considered meta or waac. Getting points for taking chariots isn't 'narrative', it's just a sentiment that says 'chariots are ****** so that's narrative'.

Narrative gaming's focus should be about building a story within the setting, not about defining it as whatever the opposite of competitive  gaming is.

    imho

Sorry for a boring update. Managed to do the dark brown base coat for bones/spines/gold on all drakespawn models (10 knights, chariot, sorceress) and tidied up the underbelly bits.

However, I'm more proud to get my boy involved. He loved a game we played a couple of weeks back, he's got the bug and he loves Stormcast. Score 1 to Games Workshop. Here's a WIP:

    IMG_20180523_214025379.jpg.7d27511e35ad44139392ec854eff9b17.jpgIMG_20180521_192022739.jpg.174d7bbf8197f487be7ee8f2385aa710.jpg

He's doing really well. I'm in hand as he does it to smooth thick bits of paint or do tiny details, but he loved slapping on the Reikland and drybrushing! He even managed to do some of the silver highlights.

Think he's quite enamoured, and a friend of a friend is able to get me the starter box and some Longstrikes for a 1k list for cheap. He can do all the basecoating, I'll do the fine details! ??

Ah glad my stuff is going to a good home :)
