  1. Yes great news! Even with a few dropouts it looks like we’ll well exceed last year’s turnout!

    Looking forward to it!

I’ve got four weeks to paint 5 Blightkings,  a Lord of Blights, 2 Gnarlmaws and a Beast of Nurgle (wasn’t going to have any Daemons, but the new summoning rules changed my mind)  A few late nights needed methinks. But nothing like a deadline for getting things done!

I am not seeing anything in that faq that explains anything.  Also worth noting it is ultimately up to your opponent/TO.

Locally everyone builds out of the app.

If you’re playing open play/agreeing what to take with your opponent then you can of course take whatever units you want. But if you use the term battleline then that is matched play and the only unconditional battleline units available to an all Nurgle allegiance is Plaguebearers and Blightkings.

Whilst Toads would be an amazing choice for Nurgle battleline , they are only battleline for Tamurkhan’s horde. Unfortunately the app sometimes does not make distinctions for such conditional battleline units.

I'm confused what 2k Nurgle armies should be looking like now.

Can people post their 2k lists?

Hoping for some mixed daemons and mortals lists

Here’s my 2k list on current points (though if the rumours are true, Nurgle points have seen very little change) and it has benefitted well from the new command abilities rules as I’ll have access to a whopping 4 command abilities and an extra command point from the battalion! Command abilities are way more reliable than spells, which have taken a hit, and may be the way forward with Nurgle.

I’m using 2 units of 10 Blight Kings and one of five but 10 really does make them immovable and easier to buff more Blightkings for your money with Morbid vigour, Witherstave, Wanton Slaughter etc. as well as the Munificent Bounty shooting attack.

Aiming to summon 1 extra tree and a Beast of Nurgle to be a bodyguard for the Harbinger and benefit from his Daemon Locus.

    The Glottkin - Plague Squall

    Lord of Blights

Lord of Plagues - Rust Blade

Harbinger of Decay - General, Pestilent Breath, Witherstave,

    10 Blightkings

    10 Blightkings

    5 Blightkings

    1 Gorebeast Chariot

    Blight Cyst Battalion

    1980 pts

Yeah given that the first rumor sources said we would see the new Aelves at Adepticon, one has to wonder if something went wrong or if the Cthulhu Aelves rumor was true at all.

Yes. And the spiral shell (that many thought was a marine Aelves creature thing) and weird plough thing are Horticulux Slimux. That just leaves the flying Lamprey eel on the very Aelf like arm as sole indicator of Cthulhu Aelves - Perhaps this is the Herald of  Order and not a new faction at all?

  5. I'm starting to lose patience with these rumour engine teasers. We still have unrevealed teasers from March 22nd - the lamprey eel with wings perched on a dark elf arm and 29th March - the weird bone plow thing. Over a quarter of a year ago! We need reveals now GW! Not a another Liony McLion Face!

  6. I suspect that the last of those old pack dwarves have sold out due to Kharadron conversions which have been popular and are now getting repackaged. It would be great to see a Dispossessed battletome though. I hope GW doesn't give up on those updated  reimagined old model battletomes such Skaven Pestilens, Flesh Eaters, Beastclaw Raiders etc. as I really enjoyed those.

    New Rumour Engine image.

I reckon it's the head of some kind of Shadow Aelf ogre sized, heavy infantry. A Guillermo del Toro style hybrid of organic and manufactured material. A bit like the dark Eldar Talos...Well that would be cool anyway.

  8. In this image from the latest White Dwarf you can see a couple of large Nurgle Beasties which surely must be candidates for the new Great Unclean One. If so, it would be a return to the fat with long thin arms type from yesteryear. With teasing images like this I reckon (or hope!) we're only weeks away from the new Great Unclean One!

  9. When are we going to get the new Fimir? The work in progress Meargh was last seen, I believe, during an open day a fair while ago. The Dirach Balefiend has had points but no model for nearly a year! If anyone is going to Warhammer fest (I can't got this year I'm on holiday) please pester the Forgeworld guys for answers! Thanks! ?

  10. I know people keep saying don't expect anything AOS until well after 40k is out but we have 3 weeks of May left - there won't be anything 40k during then will there? This leaves me wondering - yes we have skirmish but I also have high hopes for a surprise battletome using existing models coming out!

the Black Gobbo! It's a grot with his arm arched backwards and a golden beak-thingy on his nose

"I remember your Gom Jabbar, now you remember mine: I can kill with a sneeze."

is what the Black Gobbo might say if he was in Dune, but he isn't so I'll shut up.

Well considering the Blood Reavers are wearing what appears to be light armor, them having NO SAVE AT ALL seems kind of contradicting to the model's appearance.

I agree. And also let's not forget that the save in AOS also represents toughness. Bloodletters, Crypt Horrors et al, get a 5+ save and they aren't wearing a stitch! So I think the idea of blood crazed, musclebound brutes wearing helmets and armoured trousers getting a 6+ save is absolutely fine.

Hmm it does look like it has an eye...but painted black and highlighted in lavender so it all blends in.

I noticed that and thought it could be a vestigial eye. Like animals that devolved after living eternities in the dark.

  14. Dammit. I've just spent the last 3 years painting dark elves with strong marine/nautical/Cthulhu theme rebasing them for AOS, adding more units, adding Skink Thralls and a Bastardised Bastiladon. My worries are two fold:

    1. My current dark elves might look stupid compared to the new stuff and/or wont go together either aesthetically or fluff wise.

    2. The new stuff will be so good I will want to start a new army with it anyway, and I could do with starting something completely new and non skinny and pointy (My head had been turned by the Kharadron Overlords)

I suspect that we'll see a Nurgle combined tome later this year which rolls Clan Pestilens into a three-part Children of Nurgle force: Mortals, Daemons, and Clan Pestilens.  The plague priests will likely get Nurgle Prayers.  This fits right in line with their current design trajectory and remakes one of those prior tomes.

I would not expect any beastmen with this tome, or any other models in general.

Yes in fact this combined Mortals, Daemons and Pestilens force already has a name - The Grand Congregation of Nurgle from back in The Quest for Ghal Maraz. I think it included beastmen as well. They look pretty grubby and fit into that whole antlers and horns, beastial decay aesthetic of Nurgle, so the Gor models could be used with a keyword addition. Pestilens would perhaps not have access to prayers to Nurgle though.

So the cthulhu aelves are basically black ark corsairs cranked up to 11?  Kraken aesthetic and all?

I hope so! and I hope they encorporate the old figures, cos Cthulhu Maritime Aelves is basically what my army 'The Eldritch Voyage of the Kraken Lord' is now!
