Thank you.
But can you tell me where can I find that unique characters can't take items ? -
so this FAQ changes rule of the battalions ...
... ok thx for clarification -
But why can't you take battalions as a part of ur army and not as ally ?

No
Can you point me to rule that shows that ?

... can Gotrek be taken as not an ally in mixed order list ? and if so can he be given an magic item ?
-
Can CoS take SCE/Trees/KO battalions ?
-
Do you need Life swarm in this list ?
Ur units are 10 dwarf strong so if they take serious dmg will likely explode.
Ur heroes are mostly support and u don't want to put them into combat , u should be able to snipe enemys snipers and with the exaction of hurricanum I don't see how will they take dmg and not die.
That gives you 50 pkt left for +1 CP or u can change Ironbreakes into longbeards and have 70 for extra gyro or something else. -
What if we put a Endrinrigger inside of a Endrinrigger ?

It is but you have to be a Warhammer TV sub on twitch to watch it ...

I think list from Blood and Glory game 5 looked something like this.
CoS vs Khorne and it wasn't even close ... in turn 2 bloodthirster ,skarbrand , unit of wrathmogers ,slaughterprist were dead (and something else Khorne had 5 blood points) , game ended in round 4 and CoS did not lose a single model.- 1

In Tempest Eye make him a general with Swift as the wind Command Trait (can run+charge + fight(dragon + guy on top) at the start of the combat phase)
and give him Ignax's Scales (ignore moral wounds on 4+ ) to make him even more tanky.- 2

My list for 1250
had one game vs Nurgle on Putrid Blightkings +Lord of Aff + Harbinger + 2 mages+ some warriors of chaos
Battle for the pass(old)
he gave me 1st turn
with +1save and +3 move i was able to secure 3 of 4 obj
He had easy charges thx to that but only his Lord had good rend so i took the risk.
I mess up and didn't deployed irondrakes into range of harbinger (i needed 2" more)but was able to harass him with hurricanum(however it end up exposed ).
He charges Blighkings into Longbeards and Hammerers (and one guy tags hurricanum)
Lord had good charge roll and went into irondrakes
Warden King Ca into Blighkings
BK really struggle vs armor he had 20 guys but they killed 1 longbeard (2+save + 6++) and 3-4 hammeres
20 Hammerers attacked into BK , made 61 attacks on 2+/3+ rend 1 killed ~10.
Lord of Aff had -1 rend command trait and some dmg item he killed 9 irondrakes
i won skillroll
buffed hammerers to 2+/3+(rerolls 1) rend 2 , 3 attacks each 4 into BK but Nurgle clock said reroll wounds of 6s
but still they killed BK, Lord of Aff piled to my runelord and killed him .
one of his mages charges hurricanum , lord charged hamms , he killed some and died himself and that's about it ...
there was slow grind up on 1 of the obj between 10 longbeards and 5 warrios of chaos , no rends on both sides vs saves of 3+ and 4+.
Aetherguard Captain is not needed between +1 from musician and +2 from Battlemage but other command traits don't match well into this list.

So where are the general thoughts on the Cities update? I'm so very close to considering a dispossessed Hammerhall list, but I need more info. For example, would a squad of 30 hammerers be good? or is it too much? And who is generally the best for runelord buffs?
I suggest watching those 2 yt videos:
at 1:35:30 they start talking about Tempest Eye mostly dwarf armyat in this on it's at 1:37:47 also
they should give you some ideas on how to build Davi force in CoS

Because its not a problem of just listing the books, but rather of defining what counted as factions at any given time. I didn't need to Google a list of books, i could literally see them all on my bookshelf while writing, and knew for a fact that all extant factions had at least one book across either 4e or 5e, that 7e and 8e didn't update everything that had come before, and that 6e was closest to a complete set, but missing a separate Daemons book, and updated Chaos Dwarfs. However where I was uncertain was whether that stuff was a valid mark against it. CDs weren't really a thing any more by that point, and Chaos was in the process of splitting into multiple factions, having originally just been one armybook for the lot. It would be absurd to criticise 5e for its lack of tomb king and vampire count books, when they were all just factions within the undead army back then. Without reading a lot of army lists and potentially cross referencing with catalogues I couldn't be certain whether they "missed a book" that edition or not. Its quite possible that Daemons were fully playable with their own lists, despite not having a book, or that all daemon lists were not yet a thing. 6e and 7e also shared trade dress in some cases so there were a couple of books that could have been either. Sure lexicanum could have told me that. However most of this was beyond the scope of the post I wanted to write, and I was typig it on my tablet after already going to bed anyway, so wasn't about to start doing extensive research. I thus couched my post slightly more vaguely than I could have, knowing that someone would be quick to chime in if 6e was considered a complete update by the standards of the time.
+++ MOD EDIT +++ Removed a comment that came across as sarcastic
On he serious note ... it wasn't my purpose to shame/attack /disrespect you so if I did then I am truly sorry.
Just "6th edition had all but 2 of the army books making it most complete edition to date" is so much better then " I'm not sure but maybe ...." even in casual conversation but maybe that's only my opinion.
And if you really have all army books since 4th editions could you share a photo ?because it's an awesome collection that you just don't see everyday. -

I'm not sure there has ever been a past edition during which every faction had an army book, maybe sixth ed came closest? On that metric its definitely doing well!
Then why post it before checking ? At best u got a lucky guess at worst u spread miss information . 15 min of google and you could be sure...
here's a link for you https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warhammer_Army_Book -

Would u recommend a conversion to a Freeguild General on Griffon from Eltharion
If you put him on the right base he is good to go in my opinion , he is a guy on a griffon after all that match Cities of Sigmar esthetic.
2 hours ago, Hanneskannes said:I googeled "Hammerhalian Lancers" and found a Picture using a flock of griphon hounds in excange for the last 3 demigryphs knights. Do u Think it can work? Are they even available in CoS? It looks fun and they are fast to paint.
Gryph-hounds are available in CoS because in every city 1 in 4 unit can be an Stormcast Eternal unit , however they are not a part of Hammerhalian Lancers battalion ... but if you put them on right bases and maybe put some human knight next to them so they looks like a dismounted unit or that those are young demigryphs in training...it could work
-
Well u are very close to have the Hammerhall battalion :"Hammerhalian Lancers" . To complete it you still need Freeguild General on Griffon and 3 more Demigryph knights. That would give you core for ur army worth 1000pkt .
If this choice don't strike u fancy try to complete any 3 battleline units for ur army. -
Hello Fellow Dawi,
I have a grudge I wish to record but seem to have no parchment on which to inscribe this atrocity.GW used to have a pdf file for creating your own book of grudges. As I have been out of the hobby for some time I don't have a copy of said file. I liked the look of the pdf and as I have recently found a gaming club in my area was hoping to use the grudge file to record results.
Does any longbeard have a copy of this file they could post or send me? or does someone still have a working link? -
Those boxes have semi battalions for exactly those units included in each box
For Greywater Fastness is the : " Greywater Shieldband"
Organization
* 1 Warden King
* 1 Cogsmith
* 1 Ironbreakers unit
* 1 Gyrobomber
Abilities
Oathsworn Defenders:
*Fluf*
Add 1 to hit rolls for attacks made by units in this battalion if they did not move in the same turn and are wholly within 12" of a Hero from the same battalion.
So here are my questions :
1. Is this truly a battalion (+1 Artifact, +1 CP )?
2. How much does it cost ? There is nothing about it inside the box .
Need help choosing a new army based on my playstyle

Cities of Sigmar also can be build that way
Tanky melee units in form of Phoenix Guards and Longbeards or Ehernal Guards
many shooty options from basic crowbow man or explosive Irondrakes and warmachines like Hellblaster or Steamtanks to name the few
and you will find some fast and teleporting units in here as well .
CoS have the biggest roster in the game and u even can take ANY unit form SCE , Sylvaneth and KO so if like Order esthetic this may be a good choice for you
