  1. As someone with more Bonesplitterz than Ironjawz and Kruleboyz, I am gutted.

I am double gutted that I cannot easily port them to old world because of the restrictions on savage orcs in old world list building.

(Think it's one unit of each type per 1k points?)

They must finish 3th anyway. And I think they will release 4th next spring as soon as possible, maybe february or march

New editions have always been June/July release dates. I think the only editions that haven't been were 40k & WHFB 7th editions (May and September)

So if we follow what you said, the only "2023 winter month" according to GW is december. But it is true that there is always few releases during december. Maybe just a reveal?

Or it's just an oversight, and they forgot to add "-2024" on the end.

Orrrr... GW has time travel capability and the books came out earlier this year in the other 2023 winter months per your definition!

Not 100% correct, STD armybox release on November 2022 and first preview on 10/8 2022 (Warhammer Day)

You've got me there, but to pull from the 40k roadmap, World Eaters were listed as winter and came out in February this year.

Wouldn't surprise me if the FEC box launched this side of Xmas, and the standalone battletome + dawnbringers book 4 released early 2024.

On the roadmap you posted it says 'winter 2023' for DB4. So should be a lot earlier than Feb.

February is still winter. Although Slaves to Darkness was winter 2022 on the roadmap and came out January this year so you never know.

Why would more than 8 kits be impossible? Cities is getting 12 and seraphon got 10. Even Slaves got 8 kits in their last update. Slaneesh got 8 kits and then another 8 kits in their next update. Aside from the abberation that is 2022, several updates per year of 8 or more kits has been the norm.

I agree, and don't think 8 is too far out of the realms of possibility, especially if they just make the old horrors kit purely for SBGL vargheists, to free up more design space for separate horror and flayer kits, and release dedicated models for the 3 courtiers+varghulf.

******, how about a named character? Are we the only faction that still doesn't have a single named model in our range?

Beasts of Chaos, Flesh Eaters, and Bonesplitterz don't have any named non-Underworlds characters afaik

  8. I have a request for some orruk mathhammer: how many mortal wounds will a wurrgog prophet do with his mask on average before he dies if you keep rolling? With a 4+ ward from glowin tattoos he could probably tank a fair few D6 mortals on himself

His lowish bravery will also prevent him from Heroic Healing a lot of the time, so you can't count on that.

I genuinely despise heroic recovery as a destruction player. If you're death demons, starborne or stormcast it'll go off almost guaranteed, while it never goes off for you. Turns stuff that was already hard to kill, into something completely nutty. Should have been a flat 5+ for everyone.

I would be suprised if we ever get a bonesplittaz release again... The range has 2 unit kits, from 2010 (not old, but not new) and a few heros, mostly resin?  I don't think warcry warbands are indicative of future releases.   So not a huge commitment to them from GW perspective.   On the flip side, how many subfactions of greenskins do they want to maintain? in 40k there is really just 1. In AoS you've got a real hodge-podge, split between two books. Add in Kruel boyz, maybe grotbag scuttlers in the future, just seems like too much. and I don't think they all necessarily look great together.

Bonesplitterz just need their resin heroes in plastic, boss onna pig, and plastic rogue idol (with optional Wurrgog rider).

But I agree, if they don't get them now, they're not getting anything this edition and that stings considering they didn't get anything last edition either (Underworlds don't count).

Savage Orruks and boarboys are from March 2011, not 2010.

  11. What about a small souping where you borrow small amounts from other armies but it's not a united Duardin allegiance like Big Waaagh is for Orruks.

All the cities Duardin are missing from the old WHFB feel imo are slayers, grudges, miners, and more shooting.

Take the Vulkite Beserkers from Fyreslayers (maybe with an upgrade sprue for generic mohawks instead of the fire drake looking ones), call em Slayers and bring the Unforged back as a Mega-Gargant Slayer. That's slayers sorted.

Just bring back the miners kit for miners. They were already plastic.

Take the Arkanaut Company from KO (again maybe an upgrade sprue for bare heads) and that's a little bit more shooting.

Give them a book of grudges / anvil of doom terrain piece, and something nutty like the old flame cannon and you're looking pretty set without running Magmadroths and Boats together. Just Mohawks and Pistols.

Most ironjawz players I see just want a megaboss on gore grunta and new 'ardboyz.

100% agree. As a Warclans player I think Bonesplitterz could use a little padding out too.

The dream would be a plastic rogue idol kit, and for the idol to be a mount option for a Wurrgog Prophet. This kit could double up as a prophet on foot if you build it unmounted then.

A dual kit for the Manual Weirdnob/Boarboy Boss would also be pretty cool.

I also feel like there's room for some sort of hunter stalker type hero too. Like a Bonesplitterz equivalent of The Predator.

Is there some kind of registry about when certain armies were introduced to Warhammer? Or year production of minis? IS there a way to check f.e. when current Bonesplitterz models were firstly lunched?

If you go back through my profile you'll find a spreadsheet with all the AOS kits up to Jan 2020. I started to add this info to Lexicanum (https://ageofsigmar.lexicanum.com/wiki/List_of_Kits) but fell off due to final year uni issues pertaining to covid. I'll try and get back on it!

That said, there's no reason that monsters can't work in the current AoS system. I play Beastclaw Raiders, and to me a Frostlord on Stonehorn gives a more or less perfect feel for what a monster "should" be.

The fact that they count for 10 models holding objectives is nothing to shake at. Between the ogre behmoths counting for 10, mancrushers counting for 10 and mega gargants counting for 20 I feel like behemoths in general need sweeping changes. Why does a thundertusk/stonehorn/mancrusher count as 10, but an aleguzzler/mawkrusha/carnosaur only count as 1?

On the LVO Facebook post someone asked if all the Seraphon were getting was a new tome and scenery and the AoS page responded "That's all we've seen so far".  So possibility that there is more to come

From that comment in their Facebook post it seems pretty conclusive that Seraphon aren't getting much else. Endless spells not looking likely either unless they're called something else like the Khorne and fyreslayers ones.

  16. Seraphon terrain is great and all but it makes that terrain the only thing they've gotten for all of AoS. Hoping there's more up their sleeves, like Endless Spells and at least one new sculpt. Tzeentch spells weren't shown in the Christmas preview ao I can see this happening.

  17. The problem with Seraphon (and why those that play them are so vocal about it) is that it is a WHFB army that was never really developed in Age of Sigmar. All the other armies (except The Empire and Bretonnia) have spawned fleshed out Age of Sigmar armies, or have been the basis of inspiration for Age of Sigmar armies. Lizardmen/Seraphon players haven't had the chance to take their Wood Elves and develop them into Sylvaneth, or begrudingly take up Fyreslayers/Kharadron to get their Dwarf fix. They've been stuck with the same army they had in WHFB, with no new releases at all throughout all of AoS (even Ogres and Skaven got that!)

I would also like to make it known that if a new Seraphon battletome doesn't hit shelves by Saturday April 11th 2020, the wait would have been just as long (to the day) as the wait for the Slaves to Darkness battletome.

I'd wager a Seraphon vs Bonesplittas box to come, with the reintroduction of Seraphon being storyline pivotal on the build up to the Assault on Excelsis possibly with some Ghur focus for a bit. Would be a nice refresh for them and get a new hero out for the Bonesplittas

I could see that. Would redeem the lackluster warclans release for sure (no terrain/dice/spells/models)

The kharadron are officially now the least supported army in age of sigmar 2.0 no scenery no dice, no spells and a model range that in terms of unique bodies is around 20 total.

    Ironjawz said hi

I agree with novakai. While it is disappointing that you did not get scenery, dice, or spells, Ironjawz (as part of Orruk Warclans) also got no scenery, dice, or spells. You however, did get a new kit/scroll in the Endrinmaster with Dirigible Suit with Aether War, so its not like you didn't get anything.

Your model range is also much more diverse than that of Ironjawz:

    • Kharadron has 3 troop kits for 4 warscrolls. Ironjawz have 3 troop kits for 3 warscrolls.
    • Kharadron have 6 hero kits (including the one from Aether War) for 6 warscrolls. Ironjawz have 4 hero kits for 5 warscrolls.
    • Both factions have a single Warhammer Underworlds warband kit.
    • Kharadron have 3 ship kits.

So overall, Kharadron have 13 kits and 15 warscrolls, Ironjawz have 8 kits and 9 warscrolls.

Its clear Kharadron have the more diverse range. Kharadron kits are also newer, with an average release date of August 2017. The average release date for Ironjawz kits is May 2015.

If you include the Bonesplitterz units for the complete Orruk Warclans options:

    • Bonesplitterz have 2 troop kits for 6 warscrolls
    • Bonesplitterz have 4 hero kits for 4 warscrolls (3 resin kits)

This brings Orruk Warclans to 14 kits and 19 warscrolls, which is only one more kit than Kharadron. (Average release date drops to November 2012 though). However, given the resin kits present in Bonesplitterz, one of which is from twenty years ago (Wardokk is from 2000), and the fact that Warclans got nothing with their release, not even a new hero in a battlebox like Kharadron, I don't think you have the right to complain about lack of support.

The rules for both factions seem pretty good tho, so its not all bad news.
