I know Winterleaf is the thing these days, but I'd appreciate any advice on this list.
#Gnarlroot#
Are there any other endless spells I should consider swapping my current ones with?

ENDLESS SPELLS / TERRAIN
Spiteswarm Hive (50)
Vengeful Skullroot (40)
Gladewyrm (30)I like Gnarlroot and I feel like your list is pretty strong as is.
I like to give the chalice to my dryad making branchwraith and the spirit song stave to the ancient. That way the dryad summon is much more guaranteed and with two spells the general has more chances to activate the command trait, healing more often.
I don’t like the Gladewyrm. The heal isn’t as necessary in Gnarlroot and the mortal wounds aren’t the best either. He is good for taking up space but there are better endless spells for that. So I run quicksilver swords if I want the mortal wound output to kill characters or prismatic palisade if I am looking to block board space.

I’d like to know the same.
I could see Alarielle casting Throne then Spell Portal then summoning a distant Wyldwood on turn 1, but if the Spell Portal is conveniently placed for the Branchwraith then it could also provide a means to keep the ‘wraith safe while still casting Regrowth on Alarielle or Durthu if necessary on subsequent turns from back in deployment.
An early Metamorphosis snipe would be an alternative to a distant Wyldwood depending on what the army needs
If I had to hazard a guess, I would imagine that the real strength of the spell is flexibility.
I definitely agree that the reason you take it is utility. You can snipe 5 wound heros or chaff on objectives, then put trees on them and teleport a capturing unit there, or you could set up a nasty alpha charge if your opponent left it open. Its very resource intensive though so I wonder if it was worth it over all?
Personally, Id rather just set up bow hunters in a forest with re-rolls than rely on magic to snipe characters.

Has anyone tried our one three drop army list?

was curious if you found it successful and worth the 140 points for the free spirits battalion, extra cp and extra relic.

A question for the assembled Sylvaneth devotees - what would you take, or not take, in a 1500 list playing Places of Arcane Power against a 1700 Slaanesh list?
Our resident Chaos player has recently unveiled his new Slaanesh army and I’ve not yet had the displeasure. I know they play merry hell with combat order, and they seem to be able to summon things back as fast as you can kill them. But any more substantive pointers would be most welcome.
Slaneesh does not have high armor, nor can it penetrate really tough saves. So I would probably take a bunch of kurnoth hunters and shoot them from range and then get in there with scythes. Try to fight in the woods for the cover and plant the feet for the re-rolls.

I'm running it with 6 scythes, 3 swords and 3x3 bows and it's doing well. Honestly I don't know why anyone would run 6 bows. 2x3 would be better for the extra huntmaster.
That’s how I’d run them in a list for sure, I was just quickly saying the totals. The reason I Asked was that a List I’m working on has alarielle, durthu, 6 scythes, 3 bows and 3 bows summoned by alarielle. I am trying to figure out if that’s enough kurniths to make the heartwood glade worth taking for the re-rolls or should I just run Winterleaf?

Is 6 scythes and 6 greatbows enough kurnith hunters to justify running the heartwood grove, or do you need to run 18+ hunters?

Hello everyone. I'm new and glad I finally found a Sylvaneth Forums. I wanted to share the two lists I have been having success with at small 3 round local tournaments and get some feedback on ways to maybe improve them before a GT.
List 1 Harvestboon with Alarielle
Allegiance: Sylvaneth
- Glade: Harvestboon
Spirit of Durthu (340)
- General
- Trait: Seek New Fruit
- Artefact: The Silent Sickle
Alarielle the Everqueen (660)
- Deepwood Spell: Throne of Vines
Drycha Hamadreth (320)
- Deepwood Spell: Regrowth
Branchwraith (80)
- Artefact: Acorn of the Ages
- Deepwood Spell: Regrowth
20 x Dryads (200)
10 x Dryads (100)
10 x Dryads (100)
Forest Folk (140)
Prismatic Palisade (30)
Gladewyrm (30)
Total: 2000 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 1
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 83
Army is designed to work with Alarielle as the center. She just brings such good utility and flexibility its really nice to have. First turn she usually summons a unit of hunters with bows to snipe characters or with swords to kill chaff depending on my opponent's list. After that she usually will usually cast throne of vines, summon/dispel endless spells, attempt to metamorphosis something, or summon a forest if there is an open spot. I tend to summon 3-5 forests a game. This list needs the LOS blocking feature to help protect most of the models in it as well as give scoring dryad units a place to teleport to. Durthu and Drycha are the ones who kill everything. Alarielle doesn't really get into combat until the end. 40 dryads doesn't seem like a lot at first, but I tend to use the small 10 man units as objective holders and not combat units. A Branchwraith is nice to keep summoning Dryads. I will usually get 2 or 3 summons off a game. The extra bodies helps mitigate the cost of the characters. Harvestboon is perfect for a list like this because it really is all about the characters and keeping Durthu alive as long as possible is a big deal. Especially when he swings for 7 attacks re-rolling 1s on charges.
List 2: Kurnoth Hunters and Winterleaf
Allegiance: Sylvaneth
- Glade: Winterleaf
Spirit of Durthu (340)
- General
- Trait: My Heart Is Ice
- Artefact: Frozen Kernel
Arch-Revenant (100)
Arch-Revenant (100)
Branchwraith (80)
- Deepwood Spell: Regrowth
5 x Spite-Revenants (60)
5 x Spite-Revenants (60)
5 x Spite-Revenants (60)
6 x Kurnoth Hunters (400)
- Scythes
6 x Kurnoth Hunters (400)
- Greatbows
3 x Kurnoth Hunters (200)
- Greatswords
3 x Kurnoth Hunters (200)
- Greatswords
Total: 2000 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 0
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 132This one is a lot more straight forward and a lot of fun. Its not as balanced as the other list though, sacrificing almost all of the magic phase and the ability to summon trees to focus on killing. Spites and summoned Dryad units hold objectives and chaff big enemy hordes. 1 Arch-Revenant sits back with the Hunters with Bows deleting things from max range while the other advances with the rest of the army. Greatswords engage the smaller chaff units or double up with the scythes to deal with the hordes. The Branchwraith will usually try to summon forests with verdant blessing the first 2 turns, and then in the later game summon Dryads to get onto objects in the late game. I like Winterleaf with this list a lot. The extra hits and the Dweller like command ability really help mitigate the lack of magic. Tempted to drop an Arch-Revenant for another branchwraith to summon more trees/dryads. Not sure yet though.

Depends on your playstyle. If you are going for the alpha strike style of list where you summon the hive, get the speed boost, teleport to a tree across the board and charge, then it would probably be a waste. If you are going for a balanced list then it’s fine to hold the revenant back. You will probably be holding the objectives and forcing the enemy to come to you so your buffs will stay in range.
