Hey guys.
I'm new to DoT. Mostly building a list for fun games but I don't want it to totally suck though.
What's your expert opinion on the lists below? I love flamers so that's the subfaction I want to play.OR

I have been thinking though to make one of the BK units 10 strong. Would that be to much maybe?

The only glaring thing to me is that those 2 big block of Gutrippas and the Boltboyz are horrifically exposed to Bravery losses without a Killaboss around. With such poor bravery you'll be spending a CP on either the Boltboyz or the Gutrippas and it doesn't take a ton of wounds to either unit to drop enough of them for Bravery to make it a risk of losing large parts of either.
I agree. I switched around a bit and landed in this instead!

Sludgerakers Venom ability. Does it work on himself?

Without building the kit, I would speculate that swapping the rider shouldn't be too difficult. There's lots of more subtle differences that would be much more of a pain though, eg the vultures have different neck/heads. Depends how particular you are on that sort of thing.
Nice. Not particular att all. Like the Gob-Vulcha better on looks. Will just put a KB on that straight up.
-
Do you guys think the KB on Vulcha and Gobsprakk can be magnetised? That would solve alot!

My tea leaves tell me: smash bat with a bigger bat …
stare hard at your opponent, find something juicy, declare finest hour for GkoTg #1, supercharge said GkoTg, send him crashing into poor opponent, feeding frenzy… post intermingled smoke, prepare for round two
rest of the list stays very defensive and tries to score
trouble might be defensive anti-magic (teclis/Nagash), denying the buff spells. although bonepope probably dies to a GkoTg or is almost useless after the frenzy
@Dejnar : guessed rightly?
About 100% correct.
The summons placed behind the enemy for extra pressure and annoyance.

Ive been reading some reviews now of the new Book. But no one mentions Kragnos. Seems a bit weird since he has his on chapter in the book and I could swear GW said he would be getting some new synergies in the new Book.

The one with the corpse cart? My friend who pretty much exclusively plays SBG now says that the cart only buffs the wizards from their faction, not just Death Wizards. How did that work for you?
Yeah, list shows wrong.
I played with the other corpse cart! -

Whoa, which list was this?
The one a bit further up this thread! 🙂

Not sure if double gheists are that friendly 🤔
if you throw out the cart and one ghast, you could upgrade the Ghoulking to regent and maybe squeeze in the chalice
Tournament is over now and boy did it go well.
I managed to get most of my spells through every hero phase thanks to the +2.
Spectral Host + 4 extra attacks + rerolling hits for maw + feeding frenzy sent in turn 1 won me all games basically.
And even if they managed to kill the first Gheist another took it's place.
The other units basically never saw combat.Went 3-0.

The Terrorgheists will do work for sure. You may lose ghouls faster than the Crypt Ghasts can return but that depends on your opponent I think. The main problem could be that once one or both Terrorgheists go down you've lost all killing power. Some flayers could really help here I think.
And the Corpse Cart was updated in the Soulblight book, it now only buffs Soulblight Wizards. Shame really, I had a nicely converted Corpse Cart (and Mortis Engine, same deal ) which is entirely useless to me now...
Yeah, its a one trick pony list for sure. It's more of a casual setting this time around.
The corpse cart change though threw me a little bit. I had no idea about that. I guess I need to change that then.

That is excellent. Thanks.
Can I find the rest of the lists somewhere?

If Gobsprakk ends up at 2 casts, 2 unbinds, +1 to cast with his gimmick of being good at unbinding and dealing damage on unbinds, he honestly meets the standards of what makes a strong wizard.
And add Arcane Tome from Universal Artifacts and he can cast 3 spells. I like it.
-
Very interesting.
We had a tournament with about 35 people a few weeks back. The final was DoK vs DoK.
So, first DoK went 6-0 and the second went 5-1 if you want to add that.

Does Stonehorn Beastriders count as Troops when they are battleline?

Yea, in Settler's gain with a Battlemage with an artifact you can stack 2 casts with +3 for spells and +4 for Endless spells. So we've started discussing Battlemage on a Griffon meta now x)
Well that is exciting.
Can you elaborate how?

Well got in two games of AoS3 and it’s been going as expected both wins pretty easily on objectives but not against the best lists. Got a small event at the weekend so will see how those games go. SoB seem so good at primary, secondary and tertiary scoring that it almost feels like unless your facing a list that can one shot a mega that SoB have a pretty easy to follow path to victory.
What list did you play?

So are we moving to having less mancrushers in 3.0?
If I'm not stupid, and I may be, the battalions we can use (Regiment and Hunters) we need atleast two units of crushers.
I'm not sure how I rate crushers yet in this edition. Would like them to have their own commander so they can roam free.
-
Battle Regiment requires two different units of Mancrushers if I understand it correctly?
That messes with list tbh.
Maaan, creating a Sons list is way harder than I thought. 😅

2 minutes ago, Celadoor said:
Mancrushers can be troops yes, but we can't do linebreaker, as it requires non-leader behemoths, of which we have none.
We can do Battle Regiment amd Hunters of The Heartland, thats all.
I see. Thanks!
