  1. Hi, the question is, if I cast with spell with an unmodified 3+5, and then I roll my primal magic dice with a 1, this last dice count as modify? Or the total count as an unmodified roll? Because if it is... soulblight can cast their spells with an unmodified 9+ very easily.

Quick question about Arkhan the blacks spell range buff. Does it turn soul release into an 18" bubble of no deepstrike?

I think yes, the spell says the 12"... the range of this spell must be... and Arkhan increase the spell range so...

    Hey everyone,

How are you all finding soulblight now? They seem to do great in a save stacking meta, which maybe still exists, and if desired can avoid the problem of bounty hunters if desired with blood knights or wolves for battleline while having several units to benefit themselves. They can even have a pretty good casting game with the rerolls, and maybe an incarnate, although the lore is pretty bad.

On the other hand they don't do any one thing super well. I seldom see them written up. Maybe just not that popular from a modelling perspective.

Wolfs are galletian, so... I think is better blood knights and squeletons as screens, if the enemy want to waste a bounty hunter unit in our cheapest unit.... go ahead, haha.

Will try out the big man next week… first try of the new rules 😱

    Nagash

    Necromancer

    2x Dire Wolves

    60 Zombies

    20 Grave Guards

    1990

Think that will be interesting? Guards will be headhunters, puppies conquerors 🤔

or is our mighty overlord total trash in ghb22?

    Subfaction, artefact, trait?

  5. Hi guys, I have a question: can Nagash return an immortis or stalker with his ability?, for example, I lose an stalker, try to ress with one of his ability (3 wound or less) because stalkers have 4, ofc I ress 0, and... with the supreme lord of the undead I get 0+1?

I wouldn't play two units of deathriders. They never do anything for me (last time they failed a 3 inch charge, which failed me the new battle tactic).

You could think about Mir Kainan, he is quite strong, looks super cool and has an extra screening unit.:)

And you could add some endless spells for fun. Burning head is good to trigger Arkhans teleport or block an area for 20 points. Maybe the portals?

    Deathriders cannot fail a 3" charge...they have +1 to charge 😅

Looking for thoughts/feedback on a Nagash and Vyrkos Dynasty Deadwalkers list.

    Allegiance: Soulblight Gravelords
    - Lineage: Vyrkos Dynasty
    - Grand Strategy: Prized Sorcery
    - Triumphs:
Nagash, Supreme Lord of the Undead (970)
    Necromancer (125)*
    - General
    - Command Trait: Spoor Trackers
    - Artefact: Arcane Tome (Universal Artefact)
    - Lore of the Deathmages: Decrepify
    Gorslav the Gravekeeper (75)*
Belladamma Volga, First of the Vyrkos (200)*
    - Lore of the Vampires: Vile Transference
    40 x Deadwalker Zombies (230)*
    - Reinforced x 1
    20 x Deadwalker Zombies (115)*
    10 x Dire Wolves (135)*
1 x Corpse Cart with Unholy Lodestone (80)*
    Umbral Spellportal (70)
    *Battle Regiment

    Total: 2000 / 2000
    Reinforced Units: 1 / 4
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 123
    Drops: 2

The basic idea is the Necromancer (along with Gorslav) hangs with the zombies and corpse cart, gives the zombies the 3" move in the hero phase from Spoor Tracker, then gets 2 spell casts from arcane tome, one of which will almost certainly be invigorating aura to heal zombies, and the other either a debuff, mystic shield etc. With the additional heal from Invocation of Nagash, hoping to keep the zombie pack(s) at full strength as long as possible. Corpse Cart gives the zombies a 6+ save and give the necromancer a bonus to cast, seems pretty good.

Belladamma does what she does -- Lycancurse shooting threats -- with a unit of wolves to support and harass. Nagash does what Nagash does, and is obviously the main threat and damage dealer. Gorslav is arguably not necessary but if a unit of zombies or the wolves go down, I'd like to be able to bring them back if the Endless Legions roll fails.

Seems pretty good to me but I haven't played much Vyrkos or used any Zombie mobs so looking for feedback or tweaks I can make. An alternative I've considered is dropping the unit of 20 zombies and spell portal for a second unit of Dire Wolves (and a cheaper endless spell, probably the gravetide), but I think the Spell Portal is a decent threat, and the 20x zombies unit gives the Necromancer/Gorslav a bit more protection since they'll have more bodies around them (as they'd be too slow to keep up with wolves).

So much heroes, just use Nagash and Necro, you need more bodies, maybe 40z 40z direwolves...etc.

    Hi all

Im trying to figure out how Mannfreds Sword of Unholy Power ability is determined:

“If any enemy models are slain by wounds inflicted by this model’s Gheistvor, until end of of that phase, add 1 to the attacks characteristic…”

Since wounds are calculated after all attacks have been made from multiple weapon profiles, and the models removed afterwards how do you determine if a model was killed by a specific weapon (aka Gheistvor)?

    Thanks!

    For example.

Total 7 wounds, 4 from claws 3 from the sword.

The problem with that is against > 2 wounds models, the opponent can allocate a wound from sword and the last one from the claws.

A way to avoid this kind of abilities.

This isn’t exactly a rules question, but I can’t think of a better place to post it.

I see quite a lot of people talking of the benefits of certain named characters etc being treated as a general in addition to the model chosen to be the general (I play SBGL and see this a lot).

other than the extra CP received for having your general on the board, and multiple “generals” making this more consistently received, can anyone describe to me what the benefits of this are?

    Many thanks.

If you lose one, you still recive the extra CP and... the other one can try to get another one at 2+ istead of 4+.

Generally speaking, abilities with the same name do not stack. Abilities with different names do stack, even if they have similar effects.

A unit can receive two different effects that each give +1 to hit, for an overall +2 to hit. However, the final bonus to hit is always capped at +1. Stacking the bonuses has no additional effect unless the unit is also receiving a penalty to hit, in which case the bonus will offset that.

So if the unit has bonuses totalling +2 to hit, you only add +1 to the rolls. If they have +2 to hit and also suffer -1 to hit, you still add +1 to the rolls. Total up all the modifiers, add them together, and then cap it at +/- 1.

For the wizard question, the rules are different between Open/Narrative play and Matched play. In Matched play, each spell can only be attempted once - if it fails, it cannot be attempted again, and regardless of whether it succeeds or fails, no other wizard can attempt it. (There are some exceptions for specific spells and specific wizards, e.g. Nagash can attempt to cast Arcane Bolt without restriction.)

Where is the rule about abilities with the same name do not stack?. Real question, I can't find it.

I think it could be dangerous to teleport Nagash without support. When he is gone, you have a problem. Saw a list on youtube that went all in with this strategy: Nagash, Arkhan, 3x Mortek, Crawler, Burning head. He teleported Nagash with 4 mystic shields (cast by Arkhan) on and several arkhan bolts. And even he seemed to struggle to keep him alive...

    Beautiful ponies by the way.👍

That video will be interesting to see, how can I find it?

They seem pretty clearly intended to play into a Neferata list and if they were any better Legion of Blood would potentially be OP if you ask me.  For 725pts my battle line and Mortarch are covered, I have 3 MW missiles to play around and can clog up enemy deployment to get good spots for my two Blood Knight squads.  The Wight King dropping reroll ones on 15 black Knights in the hero phase and then all out defence plus Neferata’s CA and warscroll spell makes that block almost impossible to drop in one turn, and unlike skeleton and zombie squads I don’t need to worry about whether I get them stuck in on an objective I need them to be on.  This is a list:

    Neferata

    Wight King Mounted

    Vengorian Lord

    3 x 5 Black Knights

    2 x 5 Blood Knights

    1 x 15 Black Knights

There’s 125 points for battalions or spells left, maybe some fell bats.  I’m 90% sure this list dies immediately in AoS2.0 but I’m interested to see how list building mechanics and the terrain/scenario rules might do it some favours.

I agree with, I like the new Black Knights, an msu army of them can make multiple charges for multiple mw.

Has anyone figured out how radukar and belladamma interact together on a 6 to hit?

Would you get both going off and one being 2mw then you get an extra hit pop in that you roll for, or would you just get the benefit of one?

1 hit (from the 6's) and 2 mw, is like aditional to the damage instead of finish the attack seccuence

    Hi folks!

I'm super new to Age of Sigmar and could use a bit of help. I started collecting Legions of Nagash last year, and thanks to an incredible ebay offer and some overly generous gifts, I now have more Soulblight than I know what to do with. I could use some help paring the following down into a 2000 point list:

    • 1 Coven Throne/Bloodseeker Palanquin/Mortis Engine

    • 1 Mannfred Von Carstein, Mortarch of Night

    • 1 Nagash, Supreme Lord of the Undead

    • 1 Neferata, Mortarch of Blood

    • 2 Necromancers

    • 1 Prince Vhordrai/Vampire Lord on Zombie Dragon/Zombie Dragon

    • 2 Vampire Lords

    • 2 Wight Kings

    • 20 Black Knights (Yeah, I know)

    • 5 Blood Knights

    • 50 Deathrattle Skeletons

    • 10 Dire Wolves

    • 3 Fell Bats

    • 40 Grave Guard

    • 6 Vargheists

    • 1 Terrorgheist

I have a grand total of, like, 3 games under my belt, so I know very little about proper strategy and list building. This is what I have so far, but I have absolutely no issue with throwing it all out and starting anew. I'm also fine with buying new models to complete a list; people seem pretty high on Belladamma and Radukar the Beast right now.

    Allegiance: Soulblight Gravelords

    - Lineage: Vyrkos Dynasty

    Leaders
Vampire Lord on Zombie Dragon (435)
    - General
    - Command Trait: Pack Alpha
    - Artefact: Sangsyron
    - Lore of the Vampires: Amethystine Pinions

Mannfred Von Carstein, Mortarch of Night (380)

    - Lore of the Vampires Soulpike

    Necromancer (125)

    - Lore of the Deathmages: Overwhelming Dread

    Battleline
    10 Dire Wolves (135)

    20 Skeletons (170)

    20 Skeletons (170)

    Other

    20 Grave Guard (280)

    - Wight Blades and Crypt Shields

    Behemoths

    Terrorgheist (305)

    Total: 2000/2000

    Extra Command Points: 0
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds:125

My meta consists of the following, in case that helps:

    • Cities of Sigmar

    • Daughters of Khaine

    • Kharadron Overlords

    • Lumineth Realm-lords

    • Seraphon

    • Stormcast Eternals

    • Beasts of Chaos

    • Skaven

    • Slaves to Darkness

    • Flesh-Eater Courts

    • Ossiarch Bonereapers

    • Orruk Warclans

    • Sons of Behemat

Again, any advice you have to offer is super appreciated. Thanks a million!

Change the general, use a coven throne with the first trait, spam her CA on your grave guards units (yeah, I said units, drop that terrorgheist and put another 20 gg), but please do not use shields on them, you need the damage 2 weapons. With all this changes, your army can deny an enemy unit (thanks to the vyrkos'rr and coven's spell), and 2 block of gg hitting on 2+/2+ -1 2 (save 4+).

    Hi all.

I'm a fan of all things undead in Warhammer. Except actual vampires. I mean, they're ok and all, but they don't grab me like the rest.

So, I'm working on a new undead army using necromancers, skeletons, zombies, etc. Probably no vampires.

Looking at the new book, it seems the only bloodline that makes that a realistic option is Night. It bummed me out that you must choose a bloodline, there is no generic one, and all but Night have abilities linked to the presence of a vampire character.

Is that right? Am I missing something?

    1-yes

    2-no

Mannfred's Sword of Unholy Power ability gives a bonus if any models are slain by wounds from it. There doesn't appear to be a provision for tracking which wound slays a model. Damage allocation is a number of wounds equal to the damage inflicted which is allocated as the target unit's owner sees fit. I don't really see anything about tracking what point of damage comes from which weapon as the defender allocates, and even if so, I don't see anything that prevents them from allocating points of damage to multiwound models so that a point of damage from gheistvor never kills a model.

Hopefully I've explained that right. Maybe there's something I've missed. They changed a lot of these kinds of rules before.

It sounds totally gamey, and mostly an edge case. But I really wish damage allocation was cleaner. Compare with 40K where the damage never gets lost into a pool to allocate from and is always tied directly to the weapon from start to finish.

Yeah, that is the way, the opponent can avoid  our ability activation.

I find it funny how heated the skellies vs zombies thing got.

If nothing else, it's showing that they are comparable in durability, each is better in different scenarios. If nothing else it's proof that skellies aren't terrible, they have their place - it's just not as a damage dealing unit.

If you want to go with a zombie themed army you go for it, I'll be taking the unit choice that doesn't force me to build around it.

To me both are very goods, and have their own space in my army.
