    Yes Blightlords are battle line.

Poxbringer is ok.  Our cheapest wizard and actually has some punch in combat.  In less silly lists I often include him mainly for Favoured Poxes, which is amazing if you can pull it off.  Works ok as a solo wizards who can contribute a bit even if your out muscled on magic.

I've found I'm rarely at 2k on the nose and the extra 5 points for Festus are well worth it if you need a non-Maggoth wizard. You have to keep him quite close to the frontlines to get his spell off, but it's a game winner.

Weird bug in storm forge that didn't put the blightlords in as battleline...

Do you ever find the poxbringer worth it? He never performs for me and his fight in tandem ability very rarely gets used.

  4. There's no explicit ruling for command points on triumph and treachery games. We're ruling that the first player gets two and _all_ the others get three, instead of just the second player as normal. To me, with nothing explicit, the default rules take over and so this is the right way to play. Anyone got anything official or house ruley on this?

Again, spending a CP to unleash hell with bows is literally wasted, they are 12 attacks that hit on 5+ which is horrible

Re-rolling 1's in gnarlroot. It's not nothing, it's a threat and you can absolutely catch people out with it and force them into bad plays.

  6. Bows are good for forcing all out defence and they're also naturally great for unleash hell, making your opponent have to pick their charges in ways they might not want to. You can (could) also teleport them around the board via the trees and get into hero sniping position. They're a very flexible threat piece that puts your opponent on the back foot. Summoning bows with Alarielle just throws more fuel to that fire, as being able to position artillery where you want at a moment's notice is undeniably strong.

  7. The rules writers obviously have an idea in mind of how they want Sylvaneth to play in 3.0, but can't really manage to get it down on paper. It seems like they take it in turns to do Sylvaneth, each dev re-doing the previous dev's work until they get something that no-one is happy with. It's a shame, but at least the devs are aware of the clear problems and will look at it again. If they just revert the tree warscroll - a relatively easy change, because the translations are already done - we'll probably be fine again. Not top tier, but back to middle of the pack at least.

    • A small roadmap for army releases will give people some comfort for if their army is even staying, let alone be shoved in a book with another few others. Regardless of peoples opinions of soup books or faction books, new models, re-sculpts, banishment, etc,  getting some clear information from GW would be a first step to gaining the trust of the community.

GW don't need the trust of the community as people will buy their products in record numbers no matter what. The amount of impact any community problem will have on their bottom line is not going to even register on their balance sheets.

To your other point, roadmaps for large games like AoS won't work because announcing that "it's going to be CoS, then Skaven, then Nurgle, then Idoneth" just makes everyone else give up buying for their army and delay any purchases. It actively hurts their finances so there's no profit in it. Keep people expecting that their army will be the next one supported and you keep people buying. Tell them they're not getting an update for a year and watch them stop buying for their army for a year. And that's aside from the fact that logistics are a thing and long public roadmaps lead to disappointment as delays inevitably happen. No point handing your customer base the rope they can use to hang you with. A boycott will have no impact, but telling everyone who plays 15/20 armies that they can forget about rules for at least a year is a move with no profit, only loss.

    Here is a rumour.

I've heard the aos app has been canceled / indefinitely delayed and will not be launching in either a beta or complete state as part of wh+.

So you're saying the battletomes that are in the warehouse that will have unlock codes in them, will have codes that point to nothing.

This is impressive! Do you have the complete list with glade, artefacts, etc? Any battlereport?

And if you want to know how he plays, he did a whole video on it:

So I tabled the eels by turn 3, killed his two frostlords turn 1 the rest turn 2 then kragy turn 3, the other frostlord list was a really hard game, but used the woods to control late game movement to win, and SOB had 6 small guys 2 big ones and I can kill 2 small guys a turn pretty easily, then turn 3 just killed the other big guy with alarielle then he just had 1 model with the 5+ ward and couldn't score enough points to win

Faction-specific battalions are terrible if that is indeed what they are doing, they moved to this new system where everybody has the same options so you don't have to balance around faction-specific ones...only to go right back to the old system? It's crazy.

How about we see them before judging

Are any battlereports from this list somewhere?

It surprises me that he didn't even try to summon dryads, so he didn't have any screens (as per the comment in the link, he used Tree revenants as objective stealers, not for screening purposes). Why would you play Branchwych over wraith if you still have available points? I would understand it if you were tight at 2k points, but that's not the case.

He's on twitter, so you can tweet him and ask! I think we'd all like to hear his reasoning. It's clearly sound!

Sylvaneth are quite fortunate in that regard as all their monsters are 10+ wounds and on a 3+ save with all but one of them being heroes to boot.

Oh for sure, we're a good monster army. But I'm talking about regular treelords in particular. Non-hero monsters are a liability so you have to play them quite carefully. 2 monsters (especially hero ones) is fine, but that third might just overextend you a bit and the treelord can do work at 190, but can it do enough to justify a potential VP loss? I don't know for sure, but that's the only one I have a question mark over. In the right list, I'm sure it's good, but I don't think I've seen that list just yet.

  15. I've seen a lot of people saying that you should be careful about putting too many monsters in your army, and especially too many low tier ones, as you're just giving away victory points if they die. I'm thematically leaning heavy into big tree peoples for my path to glory games, but for matched play, I'd rather kurnoths who won't end up getting smashed and losing me the game just by their existence.
