  1. @Enwolved I don't have the list but I played it at the event. (We actually drew our game but I recorded the score wrong as we mathed out last couple BRs.) It was two blocks of thirty warriors, a couple iron golems, and then warshrines, sorcerer/s and chaos lord to buff them. With mark of Tzeentch that many warriors are unkillable - apparently the most that died in any game was 15.

  2. So good news Be'lakor's warscroll (now on the GW website with the model up for pre order) keeps all the good stuff, STD keyword, just adds more attacks, rend, wounds etc and his dark master ability is clarified to apply to more types of action. Don't think I've missed anything major so all good for us! Just need to wait to find out how much of a points hike he gets now...

  3. Thanks guys for the suggestions on mammoth base, really appreciate it.

I think the LOTR model is a pretty good proxy, but yeah really wish GW would make one, I'd pay whatever they want over a grand or whatever those sharks sell the old forgeworld models for on ebay

Hope everyone is enjoying a bit of extra hobby time with the Corona epidemic!

  4. Not sure if it meets your definition of nice and clean, but I'm quite happy with this one I did combining Gamesday model and gaunt. Severed heads resembling the  cabalist sacrifice rituals. I imagine that he eats them...

On subject of cabalist builds I've been assuming the way to go would be three gaunts and blue scribes for casting rerolls, screened against an alpha strike to get their pinks out, daemonrift and other endless spells, then whatever you want with the remaining points. But not played it. Is it too cheese?

  5. Hi chaps,

First time post, and would love to hear what people's thoughts are on my first slaves list that I'm considering. It's two main features are:

    - a hammer that should deciminate most things: giving the lord on karkadrak the sword of judgment on his 5 axe attacks and having him fight three times via the chaos lord CA and Godsworn Champions BA. 15 attacks should land 2-3 D6 mortal wounds on average? Plus his other attacks. Knights follow him around to get his CA and help out.

    - spell casting reliability: It seems one of strongest things in the book are the spells but they are hard to cast. So  tzeentch marked gaunt and sorcerer benefit from the blue scribes rerolls, plus cabalists ability giving +1 to +3 to cast. Gaunt takes the command trait that makes  the ritual of sorc might go off on 2+ instead of 3+, and spell familiar so he is reliably casting two spells. His high movement should help address poor spell range and so he can keep up with the marauders to keep sacrificing them in later turns.

Given the reliability of spell casting it makes teleporting 40 marauders for an auto charge near guaranteed.

Meanwhile the warriors tank and the warshrine gives added protection where it's needed.

Could this be strong? I guess main problem is low drop alpha strike armies...?

Apologies I can't work out how to hide the list as I've seen others do, but here it is:
