.They would really benefit from a ward against mortal wounds. I think thats always been the biggest challenge for me with AoS.2 and .3

I had Gardus with me last game. So with save stacks (Mystical Shield/AoD/Astreia Buff) + Gardus Ward Bubble (5+) they were very, very tanky. One moment my opponent managed to exactly kill one model…but Astreia braught the Draco back with 1 wound 😅

  2. Had a game with a 6 block of Dracolines yesterday. Against StD. Positioned very defensively to invite him being very aggressive in deployment and then I took the first turn - taking him by suprise - I launched the Draco block with Lauchon directly into 9 Varanguards. His units being unbuffed and him rolling some bad saves, it was devestating. Especially the Celestial Arc resulting in 11 mortals.

Interesting fact was that I squeezed in 5 models to fight due to a “corner” enemy model constellation. So one extra model.

    My resume:

If you need your Dracolines to be a hammer. You need a unit of  six.

If you want them to be flanking units killing off easier targets - and the core will be covered by Fulminators/Dragons- then take 2x3.

  3. Thanks for the feedback guys. Especially your comment Dog on keeping them a whole unit of 6 is very valuable, as it is an ongoing discussion in sc discords wether a single or two units are better playable.

  4. Hi, im so excited about the recent point drops for Dracolines 🥳 So I added even more (sharp)shooting power to my precious lists! What else 😅 The mobility with lauchon remains. Only downfall is (or is it?) that im lacking 10pts to add a LA on Dracoline, so I added good old Astreia instead. Hope you like it! Any comments appreciated.

  5. Hi there,

I thought about reviving my Dracolines from the shelf and use them for a play next week. The meta has moved another way, still I was wondering if I could tune their possibilities in a game somewhat..here is the list I came up with. The idea was to Lauchon-Taxi or to teleport the dracos around and be a constant long range threat to heroes and battleline (bounty hunters). What do you think?

    Army Faction: Stormcast Eternals
        - Army Type: Scions of the Storm
        - Army Subfaction: Hammers of Sigmar
        - Grand Strategy: Hold the Line
        - Triumphs: Inspired

    - Holy Command: Call for Aid

    LEADER

    1 x Lord-Arcanum on Celestial Dracoline (200)*
        - General
        - Command Traits: Master of Magic
        - Artefacts: Arcane Tome
        - Mount Traits: Celestial Instincts
        - Spells: Azyrite Halo

    1 x Lord-Castellant (155)*

    1 x Lord-Relictor (145)*
        - Artefacts: Mirrorshield
        - Prayers: Translocation

    BATTLELINE

    5 x Liberators (115)**

    5 x Liberators (115)**
    5 x Liberators (115)**
    ENDLESS SPELL

    3 x Evocators on Celestial Dracolines (280)***

    3 x Aetherwings (65)***

    3 x Evocators on Celestial Dracolines (280)***

    CORE BATTALIONS:

    *Warlord**Expert Conquerors***Bounty Hunters

    TOTAL POINTS: (1980/2000)

  6. I thought about running my first Zainthar Kai list this weekend;

Hag Queen on Cauldron of Blood - General, Zealous Orator, Crown of Woe, Sacrament of Blood

    Morathi-Khaine*

    The Shadow Queen *

Bloodwrack Medusa - Shadow Stone, Mindrazor*

    20xWitch Aelves (Bladed Buckler)

    10xBlood Sisters*

    10xBlood Stalkers*

    Heart of Fury (45)

    *Vyperic Guard

    1995pts

I‘m very tempted to go all in with the Bloodwrack Medusa and make her general with Arcane Master, but the Rally trait feels too important to be left out. Hm, any thoughts?

Given the lack of opportunities I've had to actually make use of 4+ Rally (units are either engaged at start of turn, completely obliterated before I can get them out of combat, or not yet hurt), Master of Magic on top of all that really shifts the odds in favor of getting Mindrazor off - and its an insanely valuable force multiplier.

Love that! Just changed my list accordingly

Ironscales had completely replaced Medusa in Morathi+15Snakes list long before the book came out. The fact that Blood Sisters are now a significant improvement over, not only witch aelves and SoS, but also how Blood Sisters USED to be, there's no real reason to bother with a medusa in a Morathi list.

I still see a Medusa as a valuable part in a Morathi list. Why? Cause I like her having Mindrazor and Shadowstone. Having that +1 cast and often sticking around after Morathi is gone End Rd2 is great. Rough shooting choice for the opponent, eliminate Mindrazor first or focus on Morathi? 🤔Also the ability to buff snakes and an anti-horde range attack are very effective.

In 2.0 I think you can, as you could run in a retreat. 3.0 you can only retreat

Thanks Chump. Yes for 3.0 it’s ruled very precisely (no), but for AoS2 I would also say yes. My argument would be: Run can be part of a retreat mechanic. And Khelt Nar allows a retreat and charge.

Ok, enough of my obsolete AoS2 questions. After this weekend I will join you all in the exciting 3.0. ruleset 😃

I had one game in which the Viper was solid as a hero killer and blocker and 2 other games where it attacked my aelves.  I still like it.  No question that it's value improved immensely in 3.0.

Thanks. It seems the blood sneak is so to speak a very double-edged sword. interestingly I still see it in a lot of tourney lists with Morathi though. Guess I will give it a try.

Actually I had 120pts left 😃 so I will use it for Viper + Heart of Fury. Less bodies but hopefully some troublemakers for my opponents

  11. Hi everyone,

I have a small "AoS 2.0 farewell" tournament coming up next week. One detail still troubles me though.. should I take the bloodwrack viper spell, or not? What were your experiences with it in AoS 2.0? Here my list:

    HAG NARR
    Morathi
    Shadow Queen
Hag on Cauldron (Iron Circlet, Blessing of Khaine)
    Morgwaeth (Cathechism of Murder)
    Medusa on foot (General, Ulfuri)
    30x Witch Aelves w. Bucklers
    10x Blood Sisters
    10x Blood Stalkers
    1x Blade Coven
    Battalion: Vypiric Guard
    2.000 points

My idea is to drop the big block of W. Aelves to 20 and use the 100 points for Viper + Geminids of Uhl-Gysh.
Especially having Morathi with one "free" casting slot each hero phase.

    Cheers

To anyone who was spamming 30 libs in Stormkeep, RIP

    New rule

    Unit maximums gone

Increasing unit size when list building is called a reinforcement

Each army has max 4 reinforcements in a 2000 pts game

    Battleline can be reinforced twice

    Non battleline only once

so no more 9 raptors either

This feeling when you see your non-spammy listbuilding finally being rewarded mhmm 😇

Is an answer still relevant? xD

Usually i only take Ironscale when i have a bigger unit of Blood Sisters. Otherwise i don't value her.

Haven't been on the board for quite a while as most things are being discussed in the WhatsApp-Groups.

How to join those WhatsApp Groups?

  14. I finished all difficulties of the Stormcast campaign yesterday. And yeah, it is a fun game. So good seeing some of my favorite  armies being animated. The moment when the stardrake appears, the screen darkens and he roasts several units, it is just great. Probably the power level the stardrake should have on tabletop anyway – but thats another story 😊

Some details I learned in the process:

    • Dying and repeating is ok and an intended game mechanic
    • Starting a new campaign means you can take 1-3 fix starter units with you,(depending on difficulty). Those units can have all the gear you collected ingame
    • Take high level fixstarters and equip them with the best gear you have!
    • During a campaign you can win and choose to add random units, but those will only have access to gear you obtain during the campaign (!) or take gear from other units/fixstarters
    • Often you will have to choose if you want a new unit or new gear/talents. On higher lvls its a tough decision, as the gear and talents can be great. But you are already very limited on forces. Should I take that unique sword or get the extra unit of Liberators? Hmm
    • Talents are an exception to the rules above. All units will always have full acess to your talent cards obtained any time in the game
    • USE the unit multiplier cards for talent slots. Yes, there are cards in the game enabling you to take eg. 2x Elite Units in one slot. Its a must have, especially for later difficulties
    • Grab the chest and Vases early. Enemies can take them from you! Often incidentally
    • You can delay appearing enemies by stepping on their field. Or apply a delayed shooting/attacking ability to that field – to welcome them properly 😉
    • Your hero needs the best equipement and some healing abilities. Especially on higher difficullty. Use one-use cards, healing gear or support units to achieve that.

Thats it for now. Have fun!

  15. Great stuff so far! Looking forward to get my hands on some of the minis 😋

Just one detail I can’t stand: Big gryphhounds pulling the chariot?? Really? Like those things are now grown up. What where those gryphs before? Baby gryphhounds?!..so silly. They could have used Dracolines, Gryphchargers, Dracoths instead. Guess a new conversion project is calling
